> Resúmenes de Eight Hundred
When Chen Hongbing suddenly asked about Huo Kaiming’s final words on the day of the accident, Chen Hui was paralyzed with fear. He struggled to find an answer until Ding Yue stepped in to break the tension. Later, in the kitchen, Ding Yue offered a sincere apology to Gao Songge, admitting she had been wrong to try and separate the couple. After witnessing Gao Songge’s tireless care for her son, Ding Yue finally gave the relationship her blessing.
During a family dinner, Chen Hui toasted his father, expressing deep gratitude and guilt for the burden his recovery had placed on the family. That night, Chen Hui firmly resolved to leave his criminal life behind. He planned to move away with Gao Songge to start a legitimate business by opening an internet cafe and decided to destroy his remaining stock of illicit cough syrup to ensure a clean break from the past.
The police department was officially commended for cracking the cases of Jiao Yuqin and Yu Susu. While the chief urged the team to trace the cough syrup back to its source, investigators found Huo Kaiming’s blood at the train station, though the man himself remained missing. Meanwhile, Chen Hui visited Huang Liang in prison, offering him a chance to invest in the new internet cafe venture as a way to build a future together.
Liu Na contacted Chen Hongbing after discovering inconsistencies in Gao Ying’s old case file, noting that only an autopsy could reveal the truth. To prepare for this difficult conversation with his wife, Chen Hongbing spent the evening doing chores and preparing a lavish meal for Ding Yue. When Chen Hui and Gao Songge arrived and shared their business plans, Ding Yue even offered some of her savings to support their new venture.
However, the atmosphere soured when Chen Hongbing mentioned reopening Gao Ying’s case. Ding Yue expressed her long-standing resentment, feeling like a mere replacement for his late fiancée despite having married him against her family’s wishes. Chen Hongbing clarified that his pursuit was a matter of professional duty, not personal affection. After much pleading and emotional reassurance, he finally secured her tearful consent. During the exhumation the next day, Liu Na was overcome by a sudden bout of illness.
Gao Songge noticed her medication and realized they were both suffering the side effects of chemotherapy. Liu Na asked her to keep the condition a secret, explaining that she needed to finish her work before her time ran out. Soon after, forensic expert Tang Yimei discovered traces of potassium manganate on Gao Ying’s remains—the same substance found in Yu Susu’s system—allowing the police to officially merge the two investigations.
In preparation for their move, Chen Hui found a charming courtyard to rent near the hospital, which Gao Songge envisioned as their new home. That night, as Ding Yue reminisced about how Chen Hongbing had once saved her and Gao Ying from harassers, Chen Hongbing recalled a peculiar sheen that used to be on Gao Ying’s hair.
Ding Yue explained it was likely from the water at the old coal washing plant where Gao Ying used to bring her father lunch. Realizing this was a vital clue, Chen Hongbing and his team rushed to the abandoned plant. There, they discovered the scarred woman’s motorcycle and found the ultimate source of the illicit trade: a massive stash of cough syrup, meticulously wrapped and hidden beneath the water in the washing tanks.
