Chi Cheng escorted Wu Suowei home, expressing his desire to come inside, but Wu Suowei declined. Just then, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng, addressing him as "Husband" and asking him to come keep her company. Wu Suowei, overhearing, felt a pang of jealousy. He knew Chi Cheng's father was holding his valuable snakes hostage and urged Chi Cheng to go with Yue Yue to see his parents to get the snakes back.
Despite Chi Cheng's reluctance and a playful suggestion to shower together, Wu Suowei insisted he leave. After Chi Cheng departed, Wu Suowei returned to his room and found it filled with cigarettes. He recalled mentioning that a certain cigarette tasted nice, realizing Chi Cheng had thoughtfully remembered and prepared them for him. The next day, Chi Cheng took Yue Yue to a dinner arranged by his parents.
Eager to make a good impression, Yue Yue presented Chi Cheng's mother with a shawl she had previously liked, claiming it was a gift from her first paycheck. Chi Cheng’s sister, however, openly showed her disapproval, later questioning their mother’s judgment and calling Yue Yue dishonest. During the meal, Yue Yue received disturbing text messages, implicitly from Chi Cheng's sister, warning her that Chi Cheng would never marry someone like her. After the dinner, Chi Cheng left early.
Meanwhile, Wu Suowei felt low after learning Chi Cheng had taken Yue Yue to meet his parents. Guo Chengyu appeared and, noticing Wu Suowei's distress, got him to inadvertently reveal details about his schemes. Guo Chengyu then blackmailed Wu Suowei into helping him pursue Jiang Xiaoshuai, whom Wu Suowei had referred to as his "master." Wu Suowei initially refused, not wanting to set up his master with a playboy.
However, Guo Chengyu threatened to expose everything to Chi Cheng, which would ruin Wu Suowei's plans and his relationship with Chi Cheng. Under pressure, Wu Suowei reluctantly agreed. Later, Jiang Xiaoshuai was feeling unwell from being overworked, so Guo Chengyu offered to take him for a professional massage. Guo Chengyu continued to tease Jiang Xiaoshuai about being Wu Suowei's "master," which Jiang Xiaoshuai awkwardly tried to deflect.
During the massage, Jiang Xiaoshuai became interested in the technique and tried practicing on Guo Chengyu. Due to an awkward angle, their faces suddenly came close, making Jiang Xiaoshuai blush with embarrassment. Chi Cheng, meanwhile, visited the snake farm owner again. He instructed the owner to buy Wu Suowei's snake eggs at a high price, promising to cover any financial loss.
The owner, wary of taking money directly from Chi Cheng, instead bought the eggs at cost, finding the transaction frustrating because he could neither profit nor lose. Back at Chi Cheng's home, his mother encouraged Yue Yue to stay the night and even suggested she move in. Seeking to further manipulate the situation, Yue Yue forwarded a text message from Wu Suowei to Chi Cheng's mother, making it seem like a man was harassing her son.
Alarmed, the mother called Yue Yue, urging her to go on an upcoming business trip with Chi Cheng to advance their relationship and start a family. Later, despite Yue Yue's attempt to entice him with a revealing outfit, Chi Cheng's attention was elsewhere; he spoke to his pet snake, "Little Jealous One." Wu Suowei received a significant sum from selling his snake eggs, a result of the high price Chi Cheng had secretly arranged.
Wanting to buy Chi Cheng a gift in return, Wu Suowei meticulously calculated his finances, only to find he had very little money left after expenses. Jiang Xiaoshuai pointed out that the box of cigarettes Chi Cheng had given him was worth thirty thousand yuan. When Chi Cheng unexpectedly arrived, his affectionate gestures made Wu Suowei uncomfortable, prompting him to quickly present a gift: a high-end counterfeit belt.
Chi Cheng liked it and asked Wu Suowei to fasten it for him, leading to a close moment between them before he playfully tied Wu Suowei with the new belt. Later, Chi Cheng informed Wu Suowei that he would be going on a business trip with Yue Yue for a few days, explaining it was merely to appease his family.
Wu Suowei feigned indifference, but Chi Cheng sensed his jealousy and reassured him, stating, "Anyone can be mad at me, except for you. . . because I get anxious when you're mad at me." He also promised to fulfill what he had promised Wu Suowei. Afterward, Chi Cheng called his assistant, Xiao Gang, to book a business suite with a sofa, indicating his intention to sleep separately from Yue Yue.
He also instructed Xiao Gang not to tell Wu Suowei about his involvement with the snake eggs, wanting to spare him any worry. In the hotel room, Yue Yue, again in a revealing outfit, tried to initiate intimacy, but Chi Cheng remained unresponsive, distracted by his snake which he had brought along. He used taking a shower to deflect her advances. Later that night, Yue Yue had a nightmare about Chi Cheng abandoning her.
He comforted her, but after he fell asleep, she muttered that she would kill his snake someday. Back home, Wu Suowei and Jiang Xiaoshuai discussed the captive snakes. Jiang Xiaoshuai suggested that simply telling Chi Cheng where the snakes were would break up the couple and end Wu Suowei's suffering. However, Wu Suowei now considered that even if the snakes were recovered, Chi Cheng’s father might just seize them again.
He reasoned that it was better for Chi Cheng to maintain the fake relationship with Yue Yue to satisfy his father and secure the snakes' permanent return. Jiang Xiaoshuai noticed a shift in Wu Suowei’s attitude, realizing his goal had changed from merely seeking revenge to genuinely helping Chi Cheng. Though Wu Suowei denied any deeper feelings, he was later seen stopping on the street to look at brands Chi Cheng often wore, contemplating going inside the stores.
