In a dimly lit room, Chi Cheng sat on a sofa with a small white snake draped over his left arm. A phone call interrupted the quiet, and the caller challenged Chi Cheng to a snake fight, boasting about a new snake. Chi Cheng, unfazed, accepted the challenge and declared that his large white python, Huang Long, was ready for the contest.
Meanwhile, a stark contrast in setting showed Wu Qiqiong’s mother busily preparing a grand meal, eagerly awaiting his girlfriend, Yue Yue. She proudly showed off three catties of crayfish she had bought for Yue Yue. Wu Qiqiong, initially excited, became agitated when he realized the crayfish portion was significantly less than promised. He accused the seller, Aunt Liu, of shortchanging his mother, but his mother calmed him, reminding him that "suffering is a blessing."
Noticing Yue Yue's tardiness, Wu Qiqiong wasn't worried, explaining that she was often late for dates, and offered to pick her up, assuming she had trouble finding their home. Upon seeing Wu Qiqiong's residence in a rundown area, Yue Yue openly expressed her disgust. She abruptly broke up with him, leaving Wu Qiqiong heartbroken. He pleaded with her, reminding her of their plans for marriage and promising to change anything she disliked.
Yue Yue, however, revealed that she was embarrassed by his appearance and poverty. As Wu Qiqiong desperately tried to understand, Yue Yue's lover, Wang Zhenlong, appeared, punched Wu Qiqiong, and called him a "loser." At the snake fight, a crowd gathered, tense with anticipation as Chi Cheng and Guo Shao prepared their snakes.
Initially, Guo Shao's black snake, imported from South America at great expense, dominated the match, leading many to believe Guo Shao would finally win against his old rival. Chi Cheng, however, remained calm, sipping wine as his Huang Long suddenly coiled around Guo Shao’s snake and bit it, securing Chi Cheng's victory. Although visibly displeased, Guo Shao acknowledged his defeat.
The prize for the match was revealed to be a child-like person named Xiao Long, who screamed Chi Cheng's name in fear. Wu Qiqiong woke up in Dr. Jiang Xiaoshuai's clinic, having been brought there after being hit. Dr. Jiang informed him that a man and a woman had brought him in, with the woman specifically requesting the cheapest, reimbursable medicine.
Wu Qiqiong confidently claimed she was his girlfriend, Yue Yue, and tried to dismiss the man as just a friend, but Dr. Jiang bluntly suggested he had been "jilted." Wu Qiqiong admitted his appearance had deteriorated, but Dr. Jiang offered advice: shave, get a cool haircut, dress well, and most importantly, lose weight. Dr. Jiang assured him that if he transformed, his girlfriend would surely reconsider.
Meanwhile, Chi Cheng received a call from his mother, informing him that his father was hospitalized. He rushed home, only to find his father perfectly fine, realizing it was a trick to get him home. The next morning, Chi Cheng received shocking news: his snake nests had been raided, and all his snakes, including Xiao Long, were gone. He suspected Xiao Long’s disappearance was connected to the raid and ordered his men to find him.
Chi Cheng confronted his father, who lectured him about his frivolous lifestyle and compared him to Guo Chengyu, who managed his company despite his hobbies. His father mandated that Chi Cheng start working in the Yuan Duan Group's Property Department, threatening the well-being of his confiscated snakes if he refused. Following Dr. Jiang’s advice, Wu Qiqiong transformed, losing weight and becoming more handsome.
He sought out Yue Yue to reconcile, but she reaffirmed her breakup, reiterating that his poverty was the issue. His attempt to treat her to a meal at a famous restaurant failed when his coupon was invalid, leaving him short of money. Wang Zhenlong reappeared, further insulting Wu Qiqiong's name and poverty, and once again, Wu Qiqiong was assaulted by him.
Shortly after, Wu Qiqiong was called to work to fix a machine, but his boss tried to extort money from him for a supposedly broken component. Fed up with the injustice and constant setbacks, the usually timid Wu Qiqiong courageously resigned, declaring, "I'm resigning. I quit!" Determined to escape poverty, Wu Qiqiong decided to start his own business, first by setting up a candy figurine stall. He confided in Dr. Jiang, explaining his entrepreneurial aspirations despite his mother's potential worries.
He chose a spot in the bustling Xiwang City night market, unaware it belonged to the Yuan Duan Group. On his first day, Chi Cheng arrived for an inspection. Vendors quickly packed up their stalls to avoid the "management." Wu Qiqiong, caught unaware, was confronted by Chi Cheng's men. Recognizing Chi Cheng, Wu Qiqiong hastily fled to Dr. Jiang’s clinic for refuge. Chi Cheng followed, seeking out Wu Qiqiong under the guise of needing a medical diagnosis.
During their brief, tense encounter, Chi Cheng, after remarking on Dr. Jiang's looks, subtly probed his sexual orientation, before leaving with a promise to remember Jiang Xiaoshuai’s name. Wu Qiqiong emerged from hiding, lamenting that Chi Cheng was his "arch rival" and that he couldn’t continue his stall business. Wu Qiqiong's second venture was livestreaming, demonstrating anti-pickpocketing tactics. He encountered Chi Cheng again, whom he had previously accidentally splashed with sugar.
Chi Cheng confronted him, offering a choice: a beating or confiscation of his equipment. Wu Qiqiong chose the former, but Chi Cheng took his device anyway, stating the decision was final. Meanwhile, Xiao Long, the prize from the snake fight, was brought before Chi Cheng. Xiao Long, terrified, pleaded for mercy, explaining that Chi Cheng's father had forced him to reveal information.
Chi Cheng accused him of colluding with Guo Chengyu and handed Xiao Long over to his subordinates, telling them to "have fun" but "don't play with him to death." Later, as Chi Cheng was leaving a venue, his car blocked Wang Zhenlong's vehicle. Yue Yue, present with Wang Zhenlong, was instantly captivated by Chi Cheng's imposing presence and declared him the kind of man she deserved.
On the road, Chi Cheng deliberately drove towards Wang Zhenlong’s car, blinding him with his headlights and causing Wang Zhenlong to crash. Chi Cheng was again called home. His father gave him an ultimatum: find a girlfriend within a year, or the family would arrange a marriage. Chi Cheng agreed, on the condition that his future partner wasn't afraid of snakes. His father also subtly questioned Chi Cheng about Wang Zhenlong's accident, which had left him partially paralyzed.
Chi Cheng denied involvement. Coincidentally, Yue Yue deliberately sought out Chi Cheng, feigning an interest in snakes to win him over. Chi Cheng, in turn, saw her as a convenient solution to his father's demands. Wu Qiqiong, unable to livestream without his confiscated equipment, found a new job as a truck driver, thanks to a relative suggested by Dr. Jiang.
While delivering an important batch of goods, he was stopped by Chi Cheng, who was still searching for his lost snakes. As Chi Cheng's men tried to force open his truck, Wu Qiqiong refused, stating he promised his boss he wouldn't open it for anyone. Chi Cheng, identifying himself as the "Heavenly King," intervened, and his men eventually revealed the truck was full of mere components, not snakes. Furious, Wu Qiqiong demanded compensation for the disruption.
At that moment, Yue Yue arrived, warmly greeting Chi Cheng. Witnessing their interaction, Wu Qiqiong believed he understood the full picture: Chi Cheng was Yue Yue's new boyfriend and had been deliberately orchestrating misfortunes against him. With a burning resolve, Wu Qiqiong vowed to exact his revenge.

Wu Suowei returned to the hospital with a crestfallen expression. His friends there immediately approached him, their faces filled with concern. However, Wu Suowei was in no mood to talk and silently walked away, seeking solitude. Driven by a desire for revenge, Wu Suowei sought out Jiang Xiaoshuai, hoping to learn how to attract men. His target was Chi Cheng, aiming to make him suffer, and in doing so, get back at his ex-girlfriend, Yue Yue.
Initially, Jiang Xiaoshuai was hesitant, but after hearing about Wu Suowei's painful experience—his three-year girlfriend kissing another man—he decided to help. Jiang Xiaoshuai meticulously researched Chi Cheng, gathering information about his family background, love life, personality, and hobbies. He discovered that Chi Cheng, a 28-year-old heir to the Yuanduan Machinery Manufacturing Group, loved breeding snakes, particularly his treasured black and white king snake named Little Jealous One.
Jiang Xiaoshuai noted Chi Cheng's "rich romantic experience" and "strong sexual desires," concluding he was a "rare brave man among men." Wu Suowei expressed confidence in being able to "suppress" him, even though he didn't quite understand what "suppress" meant in this context, prompting Jiang Xiaoshuai to show him some revealing materials. With the theoretical groundwork laid, Jiang Xiaoshuai and Wu Suowei moved on to practical application.
One rainy evening, Jiang Xiaoshuai positioned Wu Suowei with an electric bike laden with goods on Chi Cheng's usual route. As expected, Chi Cheng spotted Wu Suowei struggling and got out of his car to help him push the bike. After helping, Chi Cheng coolly returned to his car and drove off. Jiang Xiaoshuai realized he had underestimated Chi Cheng's level of sophistication.
Despite this, he instructed Wu Suowei to continue appearing before Chi Cheng, encouraging him to dress more flamboyantly and "be coquettish." Wu Suowei tried, but Chi Cheng seemed to see through his intentions and gave him no opportunities. Undeterred, Jiang Xiaoshuai investigated further and learned that Chi Cheng was passionate about basketball and played daily at the city's largest court at 5:30 p. m. Three days later, Wu Suowei found Chi Cheng there.
Although Chi Cheng initially feigned indifference, his eyes lit up when he saw Wu Suowei and he greeted him. Then, while Wu Suowei wasn't looking, Chi Cheng subtly patted his butt, leaving Wu Suowei both annoyed and with a strange feeling. To further get close to Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei decided to learn snake breeding from a master. He was very dedicated and quickly grasped the techniques. One night, Wu Suowei waited for Chi Cheng at the basketball court.
He brought a white mouse to feed Chi Cheng's snake and presented Chi Cheng with a box of "Dabao SOD Moisturizing Honey." When Chi Cheng later tried to feed his Little Jealous One, he found the snake refusing its usual food, realizing it had become picky after being fed by Wu Suowei. Chi Cheng playfully chided the snake, implicitly admitting he missed Wu Suowei, who hadn't appeared since that night.
Later, a bored Chi Cheng went to a bar to meet a friend. The next morning, as Wu Suowei was talking to Jiang Xiaoshuai at the clinic, he saw Chi Cheng arrive and quickly hid. Chi Cheng inquired about Wu Suowei's whereabouts, but Jiang Xiaoshuai falsely claimed he wasn't there. Unconvinced, Chi Cheng went directly to Wu Suowei's room. Startled, Wu Suowei, still in his pajamas, appeared flustered and asked Chi Cheng to wait outside.
As Chi Cheng left the room, he ambiguously patted Wu Suowei's butt again, making Wu Suowei uncomfortable. After tidying himself, Wu Suowei emerged and questioned Chi Cheng's visit, playing hard to get and teasing him. Jiang Xiaoshuai intervened, fabricating a story that Wu Suowei had caught a cold and high fever from catching a wild mouse for Chi Cheng's snake during a storm, which was why he hadn't been to play basketball.
Just then, Wu Suowei received news that a dozen of his newly acquired snakes had died. Chi Cheng overheard and accompanied him to the snake breeding area. With his experience, Chi Cheng immediately recognized that Wu Suowei had been scammed—the snakes were wild and mixed with sand, destined to die within a month. However, Wu Suowei's "deception" was intentional, a calculated move in his elaborate plan to lure Chi Cheng in.

Wu Suowei, having obtained Chi Cheng's phone number, called him to request a substantial loan of 200,000 RMB. Chi Cheng, without hesitation, asked Wu Suowei to add him on social media. Once connected, Chi Cheng inquired about the purpose of the loan, concerned that Wu Suowei might be facing difficulties.
Wu Suowei explained his intention to purchase another batch of snakes, outlining the reasons for his previous failure in snake farming, attributing it to seasonal changes, and confidently asserting that a new batch of artificially raised snake hatchlings would ensure success. Satisfied with the explanation, Chi Cheng promptly transferred the requested 200,000 RMB. Jiang Xiaoshuai was astonished at how easily Wu Suowei secured the money, noting that Chi Cheng neither questioned how he got his number nor showed any resistance.
Wu Suowei, on the other hand, felt a surge of confidence in his plan to attract Chi Cheng. With the money, Wu Suowei sought out the snake farm owner to buy more snakes. The owner, delighted by the prospect of another sale, presented 2,000 elaphe taeniura friesi snake hatchlings, claiming they were exceptional. The owner then overcharged him, stating a market price of 180 RMB per snake but offering a "cost price" of 110 RMB, totaling 220,000 RMB.
When Wu Suowei admitted he only had 200,000 RMB, the owner accepted, framing the 20,000 RMB discount as a gesture of support for Wu Suowei's entrepreneurial endeavors. Three days later, Chi Cheng visited the snake farm owner, Owner Wang, stating he was there to sell snakes. Owner Wang, intimidated by Chi Cheng, reluctantly agreed. Upon seeing the snakes Chi Cheng brought, Owner Wang recognized them as the two batches he had previously sold to Wu Suowei.
Realizing Chi Cheng was there for revenge, he was forced to buy them back. Chi Cheng's subordinate set the prices, and Chi Cheng demanded 400,000 RMB after "waiving" 20,000 RMB, mirroring the owner's earlier tactics. Immediately after receiving the payment, Chi Cheng transferred 200,000 RMB to Wu Suowei. Receiving the unexpected transfer, Wu Suowei called Chi Cheng in confusion. Chi Cheng clarified that he had sold Wu Suowei's "two batches of snakes" for 400,000 RMB.
Wu Suowei protested, exclaiming that his snakes were supposed to triple in value in six months, but Chi Cheng abruptly ended the call. Jiang Xiaoshuai, once again surprised, asked about Wu Suowei's plans. Wu Suowei declared that this time, it would be a "real purchase." He returned to Owner Wang's snake farm, and although the owner was initially reluctant, fearing further trouble from Chi Cheng, he ultimately sold Wu Suowei another 2,000 snakes for 200,000 RMB.
Afterwards, Wu Suowei brought Chi Cheng to his snake breeding garden to show him the new snakes. He proudly explained how he created a balanced ecosystem for "Little Jealous One," his pet snake. When Chi Cheng inquired about a gift for himself, Wu Suowei playfully responded that anything given to "Little Jealous One," his "son," was also considered a gift for Chi Cheng. Meanwhile, Yue Yue arrived at Chi Cheng's house.
She noticed a sugar figurine snake that a friend had made for Chi Cheng and expressed a desire for one. She then commented on Chi Cheng's use of Da Bao skincare, surprised he had the same taste as her ex-boyfriend, though she quickly complimented the product. Chi Cheng, unfazed, invited Yue Yue to go home with him on Saturday to meet his parents.
Yue Yue became incredibly excited, misinterpreting the invitation as a prelude to marriage and a life of luxury. Chi Cheng had sent a courier package to Wu Suowei, containing several boxes of high-end clothes. Jiang Xiaoshuai encouraged Wu Suowei to pursue a relationship with "Mr. Powerful" (Chi Cheng) as revenge against Yue Yue, highlighting Chi Cheng's sincerity through the gifts. Wu Suowei initially dismissed them as junk.
After trying on a shirt and finding it comfortable, he received a message from Chi Cheng, instructing him to discard his old clothes and meet him in the park on Saturday. Wu Suowei jokingly replied that he only waits on a hotel's king-size bed.
Later, when Jiang Xiaoshuai suggested Chi Cheng's missing snakes might be hidden in the company cafeteria, Wu Suowei proposed they should "snatch his treasures," declaring that since Chi Cheng had stolen his girlfriend, he would steal Chi Cheng's prized possessions. During their park meeting, Wu Suowei wore the new clothes. Both men were initially reserved. Wu Suowei internally deliberated on making a move, thinking he should just pull Chi Cheng closer and kiss him.
Suddenly, Chi Cheng playfully patted Wu Suowei's backside. Wu Suowei felt a wave of revulsion but remembered Jiang Xiaoshuai's advice to respond positively to Chi Cheng's physical advances. Noticing Wu Suowei was sweating, Chi Cheng thought he had hurt him and offered a massage. Wu Suowei, despite recognizing a prime opportunity, declined the offer, unable to fully accept the intimacy with another man.
As they continued their walk, Wu Suowei found himself wanting to hold Chi Cheng's hand, tormented by the thought of Chi Cheng's impending marriage to Yue Yue. When a remote-controlled car sped past, Wu Suowei seized the moment and grabbed Chi Cheng's hand, warning him about the "car." Chi Cheng firmly clasped Wu Suowei's hand in return, asserting, "You took over my girlfriend, I will take over you." Wu Suowei felt incredibly awkward with the unexpected intimacy.
Just then, Chi Cheng received a call from an impatient Yue Yue. Wu Suowei told him to go, but Chi Cheng continued to hold his hand. Wu Suowei then internally resolved not to let go. He told Chi Cheng to go again, but Chi Cheng simply replied, "It's okay," choosing to remain with him. Later, Jiang Xiaoshuai expressed disappointment that they had "only held hands," urging Wu Suowei to be more direct, but Wu Suowei insisted he couldn't take such a bold step.

Wu Suowei was keenly aware of the vast difference in their backgrounds, with Chi Cheng coming from a wealthy family and being a graduate of a prestigious university, while his own origins were humble. Determined not to let Chi Cheng perceive him as lacking in knowledge, he dedicated himself to extensive reading and self-improvement. Just then, Chi Cheng sent him a message that made Wu Suowei's hair stand on end; it read, "I want to sleep with you."
Wu Suowei internally prayed to be rid of the "rogue." Later, Wu Suowei arranged to meet Chi Cheng at a library, dressing smartly to project a cultured image. He attempted to engage Chi Cheng in a discussion about literature and history, but Chi Cheng showed little interest, casually suggesting they "chat about anal anatomy" instead and asking if Wu Suowei was available that night.
Wu Suowei initially resisted, but then a thought struck him: Chi Cheng had mentioned he was unavailable that specific evening, saying, "Except tonight, you can choose any time and any place." Deducing that Chi Cheng was likely meeting Yue Yue, Wu Suowei decided to disrupt their plans. When Wu Suowei then insisted on meeting that night, Chi Cheng, not wanting Wu Suowei to slip away, agreed to take him to a concert, effectively standing Yue Yue up.
During the concert, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei playfully told Chi Cheng to power off his phone, which Chi Cheng promptly did. Chi Cheng then made several intimate gestures towards Wu Suowei throughout the performance, causing Wu Suowei internal discomfort. He reminded himself that he had to endure this as a necessary sacrifice for his revenge plan, believing that as long as he kept Chi Cheng there, any touching was acceptable. After the concert, they shared ice cream.
When Wu Suowei got some on the corner of his mouth, Chi Cheng leaned in and cleaned it off with his own mouth. This ambiguous action left Wu Suowei flustered, but he suppressed his urge to leave, reminding himself of his goal to thwart Chi Cheng and Yue Yue. Chi Cheng then asked Wu Suowei to make a sugar figure for Yue Yue, which Wu Suowei reluctantly started.
Noticing Wu Suowei's unhappy expression, Chi Cheng playfully asked if he was jealous, then gently urged him to be good and make it. Annoyed, Wu Suowei expressed his disdain for Chi Cheng's efforts, but Chi Cheng simply thanked him on Yue Yue's behalf. The next morning, Jiang Xiaoshuai was surprised to find Wu Suowei alone, having assumed Chi Cheng would have stayed the night.
After hearing the previous night's events, Jiang Xiaoshuai lamented the missed opportunities and advised Wu Suowei to give Chi Cheng more affirmative responses. Later, as Wu Suowei lay in bed, Chi Cheng called, once again proposing, "I want to sleep with you." Recalling Jiang Xiaoshuai's advice, Wu Suowei hesitantly replied, "Me, too." Chi Cheng immediately hung up, leaving Wu Suowei worried he had been too obvious. Moments later, Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu unexpectedly arrived at the clinic.
The four men were initially awkward, but the situation clarified that Wu Suowei's target was Chi Cheng, while Jiang Xiaoshuai seemed interested in Guo Chengyu. Chi Cheng then received a call about a lead on his missing snakes—a vegetable delivery truck—and left immediately. Guo Chengyu stayed to have a wound bandaged by Jiang Xiaoshuai, explaining he was scratched in the cafeteria of Chi Cheng's warehouse while trying to poach chefs.
Guo Chengyu then added Jiang Xiaoshuai's contact information, which Jiang Xiaoshuai accepted, hoping to gather information for Wu Suowei. Later, Jiang Xiaoshuai considered asking Guo Chengyu about Chi Cheng but decided against it, fearing it would arouse suspicion, and blocked him instead. Undeterred, Guo Chengyu simply searched for Jiang Xiaoshuai online and found his social media.
Meanwhile, Chi Cheng investigated and found a young python in the vegetable delivery truck, confirming the snakes were hidden within his company, likely in the cafeteria. He decided against a direct retrieval, knowing his father would simply find another way to take them. Instead, he sought a foolproof method, realizing that the cunning Guo Chengyu was also aware of the situation and stood to gain from the conflict.
Chi Cheng later found Wu Suowei sleeping, watching him with an affectionate gaze. During their conversation, Wu Suowei admitted he wasn't sure if he liked men, but he knew he liked Chi Cheng. In response, Chi Cheng forcefully kissed him, leaving Wu Suowei stunned. The next day, Jiang Xiaoshuai found Wu Suowei with a high fever. After Wu Suowei confessed what happened, Jiang Xiaoshuai, initially worried about something more serious, teased him before meticulously caring for him.
Wu Suowei, insisting his illness was a "mental affliction," asked Jiang Xiaoshuai to tell Chi Cheng he was away if he came looking. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng was consumed with thoughts of the kiss. Unable to reach Wu Suowei by phone, he went to his place, where Jiang Xiaoshuai said Wu Suowei had gone on a trip. Undeterred, Chi Cheng took Wu Suowei's box of sugar figures, certain that Wu Suowei's anger would lead him to seek him out.

Yue Yue accompanied Chi Cheng to meet his parents, who greeted her with warmth and enthusiasm. Yue Yue, skilled in social interactions, engaged them in conversation, offering anti-aging skincare products to Chi Cheng's mother and a specific tea to his father, claiming Chi Cheng had told her he enjoyed it. Chi Cheng's parents were delighted, praising Yue Yue's looks and personality. Chi Cheng's mother even mentioned introducing Yue Yue to Chi Cheng's sister when she returned from abroad.
Yue Yue felt confident she had won them over, anticipating a wealthy and comfortable future. However, as they left, Chi Cheng's demeanor changed abruptly. He became distant, instructing his driver to take Yue Yue home without further explanation, leaving her deeply disappointed. Chi Cheng's mind was entirely on Wu Suowei, who had been avoiding him. Chi Cheng confessed to his subordinate that he felt someone was terrified of getting close to him, clarifying it wasn't Yue Yue.
His subordinate suggested that this person's reluctance could stem from either extreme innocence or a hidden motive. Meanwhile, Guo Chengyu, undeterred by Jiang Xiaoshuai blocking him, used the opportunity of sending for his medicine to have an assistant deliver desserts to Jiang Xiaoshuai.
Jiang Xiaoshuai was surprisingly disheartened that Guo Chengyu hadn't come in person, and though he initially told the assistant to take the desserts away, he quickly stopped him when the assistant threatened to throw them out, showing a subtle shift in his feelings. Guo Chengyu's assistant also warned Jiang Xiaoshuai to be wary of Chi Cheng, hinting at a long-standing feud between the two men. Since Chi Cheng had forcibly kissed him, Wu Suowei had been avoiding all contact.
Unable to reach Wu Suowei, Chi Cheng resorted to cornering Jiang Xiaoshuai at his clinic, demanding Wu Suowei's whereabouts. To compel him, Chi Cheng even jokingly threatened to have sex with Jiang Xiaoshuai until Wu Suowei returned. Faced with Chi Cheng's persistence, Jiang Xiaoshuai reluctantly provided Wu Suowei's home address. Chi Cheng arrived at Wu Suowei's house and was greeted by his mother, who referred to Wu Suowei as "Da Qiong."
She informed Chi Cheng that Wu Suowei had been sick for a week and had not left his bed since returning home. Upstairs, Chi Cheng found Wu Suowei secretly watching what appeared to be gay videos. Startled by Chi Cheng's sudden appearance, Wu Suowei threw his phone onto the bed. Chi Cheng teased him about learning new knowledge and tried to get physical, but Wu Suowei's mother called them for dinner, defusing the tension.
During dinner, Chi Cheng learned about Wu Suowei's difficult background; his father had passed away sixteen years prior, leaving his mother to raise him alone. Wu Suowei recounted how his three attempts at starting a business had failed due to the same "bully." Chi Cheng reassured him, promising to "cover his back" in the future. Chi Cheng was notably attentive and warm towards Wu Suowei's mother, earning her approval.
Wu Suowei, witnessing Chi Cheng's kindness, found his own perception of Chi Cheng improving significantly. As it grew late, Wu Suowei's mother insisted Chi Cheng stay the night, suggesting he share a bed with Wu Suowei. That night, Wu Suowei refused to share the bed, making Chi Cheng sleep on the floor. However, after Chi Cheng complained the floor was hard, Wu Suowei relented and let him onto the bed.
The next morning, after teasing Wu Suowei about his tight childhood pants, Chi Cheng took him on a bicycle ride to a cornfield. There, he taught him a "crude" but effective method to catch sparrows and offered Wu Suowei some early corn. Chi Cheng then threatened to reveal to Wu Suowei's mother that he had resigned from his job unless Wu Suowei kissed him. Wu Suowei reluctantly complied.
As Chi Cheng left, Wu Suowei's mother advised her son to spend less time with Chi Cheng, fearing that Chi Cheng was "too good" and would make Wu Suowei look bad by comparison. Upon learning that Chi Cheng had taken his candy figurines to give to Yue Yue, Wu Suowei became determined to win Chi Cheng over. He asked Jiang Xiaoshuai to help him prepare a "cooler" outfit, vowing to "charm Chi Cheng to death."
Later, at the basketball court, Wu Suowei tried to act cool, but Chi Cheng playfully picked him up and carried him. While they were resting, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei, seeing Yue Yue's name on the phone, immediately began to act dizzy and complain loudly about a headache to prevent him from taking the call.
Interpreting Wu Suowei's actions as jealousy, Chi Cheng ended the call and agreed to Wu Suowei's suggestion to eat spicy hotpot at a street stall, referring to Wu Suowei as his "girlfriend." Despite his usual aversion to street food and chili, Chi Cheng ate it at Wu Suowei's urging.
As he watched, Wu Suowei recalled Yue Yue breaking up with him for being poor and was deeply moved that a "proud young master" like Chi Cheng would do this with him. The hot weather prompted Wu Suowei to lift his shirt to cool down, a move Chi Cheng interpreted as provocative. Feeling a pang of jealousy, Chi Cheng pulled him into the car and forcefully kissed him. Afterward, he invited Wu Suowei to live at his house.
Wu Suowei adamantly refused, insisting Chi Cheng break up with Yue Yue first. Chi Cheng, however, declined, citing other reasons for not wanting to end things yet. Believing Chi Cheng was trying to have relationships with both of them, an angered Wu Suowei bolted from the car and ran home in the heavy rain. Meanwhile, Guo Chengyu's investigation revealed that Yue Yue had been Wu Suowei's girlfriend for three years.
Guo Chengyu surmised that Wu Suowei was now competing with his ex-girlfriend for a man and suspected he had ulterior motives. He also discovered that Jiang Xiaoshuai had moved to the city to escape the heartbreak of a past relationship, leading him to speculate that Wu Suowei and Jiang Xiaoshuai might be collaborating to seek revenge. Later, Yue Yue found Chi Cheng at the basketball court. Seeing them together, Wu Suowei decided to intervene.
That evening, he feigned melancholy, even smoking a cigarette, to catch Chi Cheng's attention. He inquired about Chi Cheng's car, asking if Chi Cheng would sell it for fifty thousand. Chi Cheng offered to sell it if Wu Suowei "threw himself in" as part of the deal. Wu Suowei then sat in the car, and Chi Cheng drove him for a bit.
Mid-ride, Wu Suowei deliberately got out, expecting Chi Cheng to call him back, but Chi Cheng casually mentioned he was going to pick up his "girlfriend." Annoyed, Wu Suowei turned around and demanded water at Chi Cheng's place. Chi Cheng immediately grabbed him and forcefully took him inside. Just then, Yue Yue called. Wu Suowei snatched the phone, preventing Chi Cheng from answering. Far from being angry, Chi Cheng found Wu Suowei's antics endearing, kissing him and calling him a "little stubborn donkey."

Chi Cheng attempted to kiss Wu Suowei, who nervously pulled back and quickly made an excuse about being hungry to stop him. Chi Cheng, in turn, offered to get food, telling Wu Suowei, "I'll let you eat first." Once Chi Cheng had left, Wu Suowei, feeling flustered and overheated, realized the room was unusually hot and humid, a deliberate environment Chi Cheng maintained for his snakes.
He went to the refrigerator for a cold drink and was surprised to find the sugar figures he had made still perfectly preserved inside. A satisfied smile spread across his face, which Chi Cheng noticed upon his return. Feeling a mix of relief and renewed apprehension, Wu Suowei considered leaving immediately, worried about what might transpire with Chi Cheng. As he tried to depart, Chi Cheng stopped him, expressing a desire to get closer.
Wu Suowei firmly warned Chi Cheng, "Don't mess around." He unequivocally stated that if Chi Cheng were to act forcefully at that moment, their relationship would be reduced to a mere physical one, and he would never truly like him again. Hearing this, Chi Cheng's intensity softened, and he released Wu Suowei.
Attempting to create further distance, Wu Suowei provocatively suggested they could just have a casual arrangement, with Chi Cheng continuing to date his girlfriend and only visiting him when free. He even wondered if having both would be "wonderful." Chi Cheng, perhaps accepting the challenge, agreed that it could be good and suggested they "give it a try." Annoyed, Wu Suowei dismissed him. Later that night, Chi Cheng lay awake, observing Wu Suowei asleep beside him.
He gently covered Wu Suowei with a blanket and tenderly caressed his face. Although a momentary desire arose within him, Chi Cheng remembered Wu Suowei's earlier warning about their relationship becoming purely physical if he forced himself, and he managed to restrain his impulses. The next day, Wu Suowei returned to the clinic, where Jiang Xiaoshuai greeted him with a knowing smile, hinting at Wu Suowei's overnight absence.
Jiang Xiaoshuai then revealed information he had uncovered: Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu were love rivals. He explained that Guo Chengyu had a past affair with Chi Cheng’s college boyfriend, Wang Shuo, which led to Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo’s breakup. This incident fostered a deep-seated rivalry between Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu, where Chi Cheng would consistently pursue any man Guo Chengyu showed interest in over the past six years.
Wu Suowei worried, admitting that he might not be able to extricate himself from the situation. Jiang Xiaoshuai advised caution, emphasizing that neither Chi Cheng nor Guo Chengyu were to be trifled with, and if Wu Suowei's true intentions were discovered, things would undoubtedly escalate. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng continued to send various nourishing gifts to Wu Suowei's mother.
Touched by his thoughtfulness, Wu Suowei’s mother insisted that Wu Suowei take some freshly picked corn as a return gift to Chi Cheng. Separately, Guo Chengyu deliberately drove past Jiang Xiaoshuai's clinic. Seeing Guo Chengyu, Jiang Xiaoshuai, who was watering flowers outside, saw an opportunity. To gather information for Wu Suowei, he approached Guo Chengyu’s car and, feigning concern, "diagnosed" Guo Chengyu with a serious illness, humorously prescribing "selfless dedication and boundless love."
He then subtly steered the conversation to Guo Chengyu’s pet snake park, expressing a friend's interest in learning about snake rearing. During their exchange, Jiang Xiaoshuai learned that Chi Cheng’s passion for snakes dated back to college, and crucially, that Chi Cheng's father had taken away all his snakes, except one, to force him into a corporate job. Jiang Xiaoshuai realized Chi Cheng's job was indeed forcibly arranged by his father.
Seeking more clarity, Wu Suowei found Chi Cheng's assistant, Brother Gang, and asked if Chi Cheng's job was indeed forced by his father. Brother Gang confirmed that Chi Cheng was compelled to work in the company because his "precious snakes" were held by the chairman. Wu Suowei realized that Chi Cheng's job was not by choice and that his earlier assumptions about Chi Cheng targeting him were incorrect.
He also understood that Chi Cheng's relationship with Yue Yue was not based on genuine affection. Overwhelmed with guilt for misjudging Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei went to find him. He found Chi Cheng at a bar, drinking and in a visibly bad mood. When Wu Suowei tried to speak, Chi Cheng curtly told him to go home. However, Wu Suowei defied him, refusing to leave.
Chi Cheng, after a tense moment, apologized and then suggested Wu Suowei go home for the night, promising to see him earlier the next day. As they talked, Chi Cheng confided in Wu Suowei about his past heartbreak involving his college boyfriend, Wang Shuo, who had an affair with Guo Chengyu. Chi Cheng revealed that it was Wang Shuo's birthday, lamenting that Wang Shuo likely no longer remembered "Little Jealous One," the snake Chi Cheng received from him.
Wu Suowei inquired about the length of that relationship, and Chi Cheng confirmed it lasted over three years, reflecting on his inability to move on even after six years. Wu Suowei, in turn, also reflected on his own three-year relationship with Yue Yue and the difficulty of moving past it.
During their conversation, Chi Cheng candidly admitted he was still deeply hurt by Wang Shuo's betrayal and expressed intense anger, even wishing to kill Wang Shuo if he ever saw him again. He questioned Wu Suowei about greeting a "love rival" with a smile, to which Wu Suowei replied that he was experiencing it at that very moment. Wu Suowei also confessed to Chi Cheng, "I'm actually not clean at all," indicating his guilt over his initial vengeful intentions.
Later, Yue Yue, suspicious of Chi Cheng's recent unresponsiveness, believed he had found a new girlfriend. She repeatedly called his phone. Wu Suowei saw an incoming call from Yue Yue on Chi Cheng's phone and promptly hung up. Yue Yue, presuming Chi Cheng's "new love" had answered, called again. This time, she heard Wu Qiqiong's (Wu Suowei's original name, used by Yue Yue) voice, confirming her suspicion.
Angrily, she accused Wu Qiqiong of being shameless and intentionally trying to sow discord in her relationship with Chi Cheng, warning him to stop mentioning her to Chi Cheng or calling him. Wu Qiqiong retorted by insulting Yue Yue, stating that even mentioning her name would "dirty his ears." After the call, Wu Suowei told Jiang Xiaoshuai he had "decided" and would "definitely destroy her."
He explained that Chi Cheng and Yue Yue couldn't break up yet because Chi Cheng's father was holding his beloved snakes, and Chi Cheng was pretending to date Yue Yue to appease his father and get them back. Wu Suowei firmly believed Chi Cheng wouldn't sacrifice his snakes for him. Wu Suowei then revealed his plan to force a breakup: he would exploit Yue Yue's fear of snakes.
He reasoned that Yue Yue, seeing herself as already married into a wealthy family, would be eager to eliminate "Little Jealous One." Wu Suowei planned to subtly increase Yue Yue's exposure to Chi Cheng's snake, making her uncomfortable enough to eventually attempt to harm it. If Chi Cheng discovered this, he would inevitably break up with Yue Yue, allowing Wu Suowei to step in and save the snake.
Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaoshuai, reflecting on his own life while driving with Guo Chengyu, mused about the irony of trying to keep his ex-girlfriend in the past, only to now be flirting with her boyfriend. He admitted that the world felt "truly crazy."

Chi Cheng escorted Wu Suowei home, expressing his desire to come inside, but Wu Suowei declined. Just then, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng, addressing him as "Husband" and asking him to come keep her company. Wu Suowei, overhearing, felt a pang of jealousy. He knew Chi Cheng's father was holding his valuable snakes hostage and urged Chi Cheng to go with Yue Yue to see his parents to get the snakes back.
Despite Chi Cheng's reluctance and a playful suggestion to shower together, Wu Suowei insisted he leave. After Chi Cheng departed, Wu Suowei returned to his room and found it filled with cigarettes. He recalled mentioning that a certain cigarette tasted nice, realizing Chi Cheng had thoughtfully remembered and prepared them for him. The next day, Chi Cheng took Yue Yue to a dinner arranged by his parents.
Eager to make a good impression, Yue Yue presented Chi Cheng's mother with a shawl she had previously liked, claiming it was a gift from her first paycheck. Chi Cheng’s sister, however, openly showed her disapproval, later questioning their mother’s judgment and calling Yue Yue dishonest. During the meal, Yue Yue received disturbing text messages, implicitly from Chi Cheng's sister, warning her that Chi Cheng would never marry someone like her. After the dinner, Chi Cheng left early.
Meanwhile, Wu Suowei felt low after learning Chi Cheng had taken Yue Yue to meet his parents. Guo Chengyu appeared and, noticing Wu Suowei's distress, got him to inadvertently reveal details about his schemes. Guo Chengyu then blackmailed Wu Suowei into helping him pursue Jiang Xiaoshuai, whom Wu Suowei had referred to as his "master." Wu Suowei initially refused, not wanting to set up his master with a playboy.
However, Guo Chengyu threatened to expose everything to Chi Cheng, which would ruin Wu Suowei's plans and his relationship with Chi Cheng. Under pressure, Wu Suowei reluctantly agreed. Later, Jiang Xiaoshuai was feeling unwell from being overworked, so Guo Chengyu offered to take him for a professional massage. Guo Chengyu continued to tease Jiang Xiaoshuai about being Wu Suowei's "master," which Jiang Xiaoshuai awkwardly tried to deflect.
During the massage, Jiang Xiaoshuai became interested in the technique and tried practicing on Guo Chengyu. Due to an awkward angle, their faces suddenly came close, making Jiang Xiaoshuai blush with embarrassment. Chi Cheng, meanwhile, visited the snake farm owner again. He instructed the owner to buy Wu Suowei's snake eggs at a high price, promising to cover any financial loss.
The owner, wary of taking money directly from Chi Cheng, instead bought the eggs at cost, finding the transaction frustrating because he could neither profit nor lose. Back at Chi Cheng's home, his mother encouraged Yue Yue to stay the night and even suggested she move in. Seeking to further manipulate the situation, Yue Yue forwarded a text message from Wu Suowei to Chi Cheng's mother, making it seem like a man was harassing her son.
Alarmed, the mother called Yue Yue, urging her to go on an upcoming business trip with Chi Cheng to advance their relationship and start a family. Later, despite Yue Yue's attempt to entice him with a revealing outfit, Chi Cheng's attention was elsewhere; he spoke to his pet snake, "Little Jealous One." Wu Suowei received a significant sum from selling his snake eggs, a result of the high price Chi Cheng had secretly arranged.
Wanting to buy Chi Cheng a gift in return, Wu Suowei meticulously calculated his finances, only to find he had very little money left after expenses. Jiang Xiaoshuai pointed out that the box of cigarettes Chi Cheng had given him was worth thirty thousand yuan. When Chi Cheng unexpectedly arrived, his affectionate gestures made Wu Suowei uncomfortable, prompting him to quickly present a gift: a high-end counterfeit belt.
Chi Cheng liked it and asked Wu Suowei to fasten it for him, leading to a close moment between them before he playfully tied Wu Suowei with the new belt. Later, Chi Cheng informed Wu Suowei that he would be going on a business trip with Yue Yue for a few days, explaining it was merely to appease his family.
Wu Suowei feigned indifference, but Chi Cheng sensed his jealousy and reassured him, stating, "Anyone can be mad at me, except for you. . . because I get anxious when you're mad at me." He also promised to fulfill what he had promised Wu Suowei. Afterward, Chi Cheng called his assistant, Xiao Gang, to book a business suite with a sofa, indicating his intention to sleep separately from Yue Yue.
He also instructed Xiao Gang not to tell Wu Suowei about his involvement with the snake eggs, wanting to spare him any worry. In the hotel room, Yue Yue, again in a revealing outfit, tried to initiate intimacy, but Chi Cheng remained unresponsive, distracted by his snake which he had brought along. He used taking a shower to deflect her advances. Later that night, Yue Yue had a nightmare about Chi Cheng abandoning her.
He comforted her, but after he fell asleep, she muttered that she would kill his snake someday. Back home, Wu Suowei and Jiang Xiaoshuai discussed the captive snakes. Jiang Xiaoshuai suggested that simply telling Chi Cheng where the snakes were would break up the couple and end Wu Suowei's suffering. However, Wu Suowei now considered that even if the snakes were recovered, Chi Cheng’s father might just seize them again.
He reasoned that it was better for Chi Cheng to maintain the fake relationship with Yue Yue to satisfy his father and secure the snakes' permanent return. Jiang Xiaoshuai noticed a shift in Wu Suowei’s attitude, realizing his goal had changed from merely seeking revenge to genuinely helping Chi Cheng. Though Wu Suowei denied any deeper feelings, he was later seen stopping on the street to look at brands Chi Cheng often wore, contemplating going inside the stores.

Chi Cheng, holding the belt Wu Suowei had given him, sent a late-night text to Wu Suowei, expressing a desire to "kill" him. Wu Suowei, startled awake, immediately called Chi Cheng, fearing his secret intentions had been discovered. He nervously pressed Chi Cheng about what was wrong and if he had found out anything. Chi Cheng's ambiguous reply that Wu Suowei was "just a disaster" only heightened his anxiety.
After some conversation, Wu Suowei, sensing no real suspicion from Chi Cheng, felt relieved. Chi Cheng then playfully asked if Wu Suowei missed him, to which Wu Suowei retorted that he wanted to "chop" Chi Cheng up. Chi Cheng dared him to do so before ending the call. The following day, Chi Cheng and Yue Yue went shopping for jewelry. Yue Yue enthusiastically picked out various pieces, but Chi Cheng remained distracted.
After leaving the store, he spotted a stress relief toy, which brought Wu Suowei to mind. For six days, Chi Cheng sent no messages, causing Wu Suowei to miss him, though he outwardly complained that Chi Cheng was likely "having too much fun" and would not return. Later, while Wu Suowei was asleep, Chi Cheng unexpectedly appeared in his room, startling him. Wu Suowei, flustered, asked when Chi Cheng arrived.
Chi Cheng replied, "From when you started thinking about me," adding cryptically, "Who you think about is up to me." Chi Cheng then lay down beside Wu Suowei and fell asleep, leaving Wu Suowei with mixed emotions. The next day, over a meal, Wu Suowei earnestly shared his plan to establish an "art installation" company. Chi Cheng initially found the idea amusing, doubting Wu Suowei's artistic capabilities.
However, Wu Suowei passionately explained his concept, clarifying that "art installation is using art, light, and sound, to do something with an artistic flair," and mentioned the eco-box he made for "Little Jealous One" (Chi Cheng's snake) as an example. He proudly stated that he had been "artistic since childhood." As Wu Suowei elaborated on his vision for making art accessible, Chi Cheng became engrossed in his passionate delivery, even if not fully listening to the details.
Before they parted ways, Chi Cheng handed Wu Suowei a bank card, urging him to use it to fund his venture and calling it an "investment." Wu Suowei used the funds to revisit the snake farm owner, seeking to purchase the female snake. The owner was initially reluctant, but Wu Suowei persuaded him by proposing a swap: replacing the female snake with a similar one.
He assured the owner that the quantity, species, and value would remain the same, convincing the man that he was "foolish and rich" and securing his cooperation. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng's mother met with Yue Yue and pressed for their immediate marriage, suggesting Yue Yue move into Chi Cheng's house that very night. Yue Yue was delighted and enthusiastically agreed. To help Wu Suowei's new business, Chi Cheng hosted a gathering, introducing him to various art professionals.
Due to Chi Cheng's endorsement, everyone treated Wu Suowei with respect. During the event, Wu Suowei feigned heavy intoxication and, while Chi Cheng was distracted, subtly placed a packet of rat poison beneath Little Jealous One's enclosure as a warning. Shortly after, Chi Cheng and his subordinate found the rat poison packet. Chi Cheng explained that while the poison wasn't immediately lethal, prolonged exposure would be.
He correctly suspected Yue Yue was behind it, noting that the perpetrator must be someone with frequent access to him. Meanwhile, Yue Yue, in a phone call with a hired associate, dismissed poisoning as a foolish method and ordered them to use a "harsh way" to kill the snake.
At the same time, Wu Suowei's own plan to swap Chi Cheng's snakes for their safety encountered a major problem; he received a call that the vendor had disappeared and cafeteria staff had been changed, indicating the scheme was discovered. To protect his real snake from the threats, Chi Cheng visited Guo Chengyu and acquired a perfect replica of "Little Jealous One." Later, while discussing the plan's progress with his associate, Wu Suowei expressed his growing frustration.
His associate correctly pointed out that Wu Suowei's annoyance wasn't truly with Yue Yue, but with Chi Cheng himself—he felt wronged having to scheme for the snakes while Chi Cheng continued his relationship with Yue Yue. Later, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng to say she was arriving at his house. While Chi Cheng was still away, she attempted to secretly administer poison to "Little Jealous One."
At the same time, Wu Suowei, who was discreetly observing Chi Cheng's house from outside, witnessed intruders sneaking in, clearly intending to harm the snake. Disregarding his own safety, Wu Suowei intervened, confronting the intruders to protect the snake. He was outnumbered and injured in the struggle. Just as the situation grew dire, Chi Cheng arrived, apprehending the attackers. Under interrogation, the intruders confessed that Yue Yue had sent them. Afterward, Chi Cheng meticulously tended to Wu Suowei's wounds.
He then directly confronted Wu Suowei, asking if he was the one who placed the rat poison. Chi Cheng revealed that he had realized Wu Suowei's true intent when Wu Suowei initially warned him that "Little Jealous One" was in danger, understanding that Wu Suowei had placed the poison not to harm the snake, but as a warning to him.
Chi Cheng expressed frustration at Wu Suowei's self-sacrificing actions, questioning if Wu Suowei had to get hurt to make him worry. Wu Suowei insisted he acted "for Little Jealous One." Chi Cheng then openly confessed his deep feelings, telling Wu Suowei, "Anything you do for me has nothing to do with whether I like you or not. Even if you do nothing every day, I would still like you."
When Wu Suowei playfully asked what if he lied or deceived Chi Cheng, Chi Cheng declared he would "like you even more," adding that because Wu Suowei "owes" him, he could "sleep with you without hesitation," which surprised Wu Suowei. Chi Cheng concluded that as grown men, a straightforward expression of love was more meaningful than sweet-talking.

Chi Cheng's father received an urgent call, learning that dozens of their precious snakes had died due to improper care and mixed breeding. The caller explained that the snakes were unaccustomed to their new environment and that without professional caretakers, such issues were bound to arise. Concerned, Chi Cheng's father ordered the remaining snakes to be discreetly moved out before dawn.
Meanwhile, Chi Cheng privately resolved that once he reclaimed his snakes, he would no longer allow Wu Suowei to suffer. That evening, Chi Cheng chose to be with Wu Suowei, abandoning his plans with Yue Yue. As they settled down for the night, Wu Suowei playfully pointed out a drawing resembling Chi Cheng, leading to some lighthearted banter. Wu Suowei then sincerely confessed, "Actually, I quite like you."
Moved by this, Chi Cheng became overly affectionate, but Wu Suowei stopped him, warning that he would leave if Chi Cheng didn't calm down and sleep. Chi Cheng quickly agreed, embracing Wu Suowei. Their intimate moment was interrupted by a phone call for Chi Cheng, who learned that a suspicious white truck, likely transporting the snakes, had left the base. Chi Cheng informed his contact he was on his way and advised caution.
He gently covered Wu Suowei before hurrying out, while Wu Suowei feigned sleep. Wu Suowei, pretending to be asleep, was puzzled by Chi Cheng's sudden departure. Soon after, he received a similar call about the suspicious truck and immediately headed to the location. Upon arrival, Chi Cheng gave orders to intercept the truck. Wu Suowei, observing from a distance, instructed his own men to wait for Guo Chengyu, planning to seize an opportunity during the anticipated confrontation.
Indeed, Guo Chengyu soon arrived, and Wu Suowei was surprised to see both him and Chi Cheng there. Guo Chengyu remarked to Chi Cheng that it was the first time he'd been so captivated by a man and that he had come "to watch the show." After the initial guards were dealt with, Chi Cheng attempted to take his treasured snake, Huang Long, home.
However, Guo Chengyu intervened, ordering his men to "grab the snakes," sparking a fierce fight between the two factions. Wu Suowei, meanwhile, seized the chaos to direct his men to also "grab the snakes." During the intense struggle between Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu, a box containing Huang Long was accidentally overturned, and the snake escaped. Huang Long coiled itself tightly around Wu Suowei's neck, leaving him struggling for air.
Chi Cheng, in distress, rushed to Wu Suowei's aid, desperately pleading with the snake to "let go." Jiang Xiaoshuai, witnessing Wu Suowei's dire condition, frantically urged Chi Cheng to "kill the snake now!" Wu Suowei, barely able to speak, begged Chi Cheng not to, reminding him how much he liked the snake. A brief memory of Chi Cheng playfully calling himself "Huang Long" flashed through his mind. Jiang Xiaoshuai's voice cut through his hesitation, asking, "Which is more important?
Him or a snake?" After a moment of agonizing internal conflict, Chi Cheng made the difficult decision and personally killed his beloved Huang Long to save Wu Suowei. Wu Suowei was immediately rushed to Hongshan Hospital. While waiting, Guo Chengyu approached Chi Cheng, offering to handle Huang Long's corpse and noting that Chi Cheng had "really changed" and seemed deeply upset. When the doctor emerged, he confirmed that Wu Suowei was out of danger but required observation.
Jiang Xiaoshuai wanted to stay with Wu Suowei, but Guo Chengyu also insisted on being the first person Wu Suowei saw upon waking. Determined not to let Guo Chengyu stay, Jiang Xiaoshuai physically dragged him away. Later, Guo Chengyu reflected with a subordinate that Chi Cheng seemed genuinely moved by Wu Suowei.
He added that he "never cared about him snatching my man," as it was always "just a game," and that he only played along because he had never seen Chi Cheng happy. Chi Cheng stayed by Wu Suowei's bedside all night. In the morning, Guo Chengyu commented to Chi Cheng that he thought the two were just having fun, but Chi Cheng corrected him, stating that Wu Suowei was "serious" about their relationship.
A nurse then called for Wu Suowei's family member, and Chi Cheng declared himself to be it. Soon after, Chi Cheng's assistant, Gangzi, delivered a stern message to Yue Yue: Chi Cheng knew about her tricks and was ending their relationship permanently. Refusing to accept the breakup, Yue Yue tearfully approached Chi Cheng's mother, fabricating a story about the snake lunging at and biting her.
She exaggerated her fear, portraying herself as a victim who had only tried to accommodate Chi Cheng. Chi Cheng's mother, who also disliked snakes, expressed sympathy and promised to intervene. Yue Yue, feigning humility, asked her not to tell Chi Cheng about her visit, but his mother insisted she would "definitely stand up" for Yue Yue. As Yue Yue left, she encountered Chi Cheng's sister, who coolly advised her to "keep a distance."
Yue Yue dismissed it as a "tiff," but the sister, seeing through the act, told her to "keep pretending" and "not expose that vixen's tail of yours." Chi Cheng's father made a persistent visit to the hospital despite Chi Cheng's attempts to avoid him. Wu Suowei, who had just woken up, was having his hand held by Chi Cheng.
Wu Suowei tried to withdraw his hand as Chi Cheng's father approached, but Chi Cheng held it firmly, disregarding his father's presence. Chi Cheng's father presented a proposition: Chi Cheng could continue breeding snakes and quit his job, but he must not break up with Yue Yue. Chi Cheng bluntly countered, "You lost over 50 of my snakes, I made you lose a daughter-in-law. Isn't that fair?"
He refused to reconcile and further declared that he planned to start an art installation company with his friends. His father scoffed at the idea, but Chi Cheng retorted, "Just wait and see." From his hospital bed, Wu Suowei sensed that Chi Cheng and Yue Yue had truly broken up and decided to formulate a plan to reveal Yue Yue's true nature to Chi Cheng's mother. He approached Chi Cheng's assistant, Gangzi, with a "slightly unethical" favor.
Wu Suowei proposed giving Yue Yue Chi Cheng's credit card. If she genuinely regretted her actions, she wouldn't accept the money; but if she spent it lavishly, Gangzi was to ensure Chi Cheng's mother found out, thereby revealing Yue Yue's mercenary motives. Gangzi, following Wu Suowei's plan, met with Yue Yue and presented her with the card. Yue Yue gleefully accepted, convinced that the money was rightfully hers and that she could still sway Chi Cheng's mother by feigning pity.
She then embarked on a lavish shopping spree, openly telling a friend that the money was from her "ex-boyfriend." Gangzi later brought Chi Cheng's sister to the same mall. Remembering Yue Yue's earlier claims of being a humble office worker, the sister had Gangzi check Yue Yue's shopping records.
Armed with the evidence, she confronted her mother, revealing that Yue Yue had spent over ¥336,000 in a single day and had lied about her financial status, proving she was only after Chi Cheng's money. Enraged, Chi Cheng's mother confronted Yue Yue on her next visit. She coldly informed Yue Yue that they were to keep their distance and returned the shawl she had been given, stating she couldn't accept such an expensive gift.
She then had the nanny show a stunned Yue Yue out of the house. Back at the hospital, Chi Cheng brought food for Wu Suowei. He offered Wu Suowei a nutritious, bland meal while intentionally eating spicy food in front of him. After playfully teasing him, Chi Cheng relented and offered Wu Suowei a small bite, but Wu Suowei greedily took a large mouthful, causing Chi Cheng to panic.
Their playful moment was interrupted by a doctor and nurse who arrived to give Wu Suowei an injection. As Wu Suowei struggled to lift himself, the female nurse offered assistance, but Chi Cheng quickly intervened, stating, "I'll do it." He gently lifted Wu Suowei into position, allowing the doctor to administer the injection without the nurse needing to touch him.
Later, after receiving treatment at Jiang Xiaoshuai's clinic, Guo Chengyu left, thanking him and advising him not to get into fights anymore. After Guo Chengyu was gone, Jiang Xiaoshuai reflected to himself that Guo Chengyu had probably "found someone new," and he could finally "have peace from now on," relieved that he would no longer be pursued.

Wu Suowei, recently discharged from the hospital, shows off his new second-hand car to Jiang Xiaoshuai before they go for a drive. Jiang Xiaoshuai comments on Wu Suowei’s success in getting revenge on Yue Yue and asks about his plan to start a company with Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei confirms that the company is almost ready, funded by selling his snakes, and that Chi Cheng handled many of the arrangements.
Despite this, Wu Suowei insists that their relationship will be purely professional, as he is a straight man who plans to marry a woman. Jiang Xiaoshuai presses him, asking if he has any feelings for Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei reluctantly admits that he does, but states he cannot be with him, fearing he would be the submissive partner in the relationship. Wu Suowei's creative company, Fearless Art Installations Ltd., holds its grand opening.
Wu Suowei is busy networking with various clients, while Chi Cheng leverages his connections to promote the business. During the event, Yue Yue unexpectedly appears, clearly impressed by Wu Suowei's professional demeanor and the successful launch of his company. She attempts to reconcile with him, claiming her past actions were not motivated by materialism and that she has broken up with Chi Cheng.
Wu Suowei calmly informs her that he knows about the breakup because Chi Cheng is now with him, and they founded the company together. Chi Cheng then steps in, adding that he even paid for Yue Yue's expensive branded outfit. Stunned and enraged, Yue Yue storms out. Later, Chi Cheng asks Wu Suowei why Yue Yue was at the opening, and Wu Suowei denies inviting her. That evening, at the celebration, Wu Suowei drinks heavily and becomes emotional.
When Chi Cheng expresses concern, a tearful Wu Suowei tells him that while he cannot bear to leave him, he feels they no longer have a reason to be together. He explains that his initial goal was simply to get revenge by breaking up Chi Cheng and Yue Yue, and now that this is accomplished, the pretext for their own relationship is gone.
Chi Cheng gently comforts him, assuring him they will not be apart and that he will stay with him for the night, even singing for Wu Suowei until he falls asleep. Wu Suowei becomes deeply engrossed in his new company. When Jiang Xiaoshuai visits, he advises Wu Suowei to balance his busy work life with his personal relationships.
Wu Suowei admits that Chi Cheng has been away on a business trip and has only sent work-related messages, which makes him reluctant to be the first to initiate personal contact. Wu Suowei then shifts the conversation to Jiang Xiaoshuai's romantic life, asking about Guo Chengyu. Jiang Xiaoshuai expresses disappointment, revealing that Guo Chengyu has stopped contacting him. Wu Suowei then asks Jiang Xiaoshuai if a straight person can truly become gay and then revert to being straight.
Jiang Xiaoshuai believes it's impossible. Chi Cheng returns from his business trip and secretly observes Wu Suowei at the office. He sees Wu Suowei researching online about reversing a gay orientation and exchanging messages on the topic with Jiang Xiaoshuai. Chi Cheng's jealousy flares up, and he confronts Wu Suowei about his "master," Jiang Xiaoshuai, implying that he is a bad influence.
Despite Wu Suowei's protests that they are at the company, Chi Cheng forcefully kisses him, and they become intimate. Later, Chi Cheng drives Wu Suowei back to the clinic. Jiang Xiaoshuai, listening to music, is unaware of Wu Suowei's return and wonders why his messages have gone unanswered. As Wu Suowei prepares to shower, Chi Cheng unexpectedly follows him into the bathroom, leading to a physical struggle.
Jiang Xiaoshuai hears the commotion, opens the bathroom door, and is startled to find them together, quickly closing the door again in embarrassment. The next morning, Jiang Xiaoshuai teases Wu Suowei about the previous night. An embarrassed Wu Suowei confesses that despite their intimacy, they still haven't "reached the final step."
He admits he cannot fully accept the relationship and even trembles whenever he sees Chi Cheng, explaining that he needs time to adjust after being straight for over 20 years. Later, Wu Suowei drives home to visit his mother, who is overjoyed to see his new car and signs of success. He decides to take some loquats from her tree, explaining that his mother should avoid high-sugar fruits due to her high blood lipids.
When he mentions he also needs to take some for Chi Cheng, his mother immediately produces a special box she had saved for him, showing clear favoritism. Wu Suowei questions her partiality, but she explains that Chi Cheng always brings many gifts, and loquats are one of the few things they can offer in return. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng visits Jiang Xiaoshuai at the clinic, revealing he saw the chat records between him and Wu Suowei.
Chi Cheng then tasks Jiang Xiaoshuai with resolving Wu Suowei's psychological barriers within five days so that Wu Suowei will sincerely accept him. He issues a warning that if Jiang Xiaoshuai fails, Chi Cheng will revert to his former aggressive self, and his treatment of Jiang Xiaoshuai might not be as lenient as it is with Wu Suowei. To carry out this task, Jiang Xiaoshuai feigns heavy drunkenness when Wu Suowei arrives.
He dramatically tells Wu Suowei that the "trouble is coming from him," claiming Chi Cheng threatened to target Jiang Xiaoshuai if Wu Suowei did not fully commit. Jiang Xiaoshuai links this threat to Guo Chengyu, explaining that because Guo Chengyu is interested in him, and Wu Suowei hasn't accepted Chi Cheng, Chi Cheng is now placing the blame on him. He then theatrically offers to "submit" to Chi Cheng if necessary.
Alarmed, Wu Suowei promises to resolve the situation and rushes off. Wu Suowei then calls Guo Chengyu, pleading with him to protect Jiang Xiaoshuai. Guo Chengyu calmly suggests that if he simply stops pursuing Jiang Xiaoshuai, then Jiang Xiaoshuai would be safe. Believing he has found a solution, Wu Suowei returns to Jiang Xiaoshuai with the "good news" that Guo Chengyu will no longer pursue him. However, Jiang Xiaoshuai reacts with feigned disappointment rather than relief.

Jiang Xiaoshuai, burdened by his feelings for Guo Chengyu, received a message implying Chi Cheng had given him a three-day ultimatum. Shortly after, Guo Chengyu arrived at the clinic, prompting Jiang Xiaoshuai to question why he hadn't yet found a replacement for his position. Their conversation was abruptly interrupted when a man rushed in, carrying a woman who had attempted suicide by cutting her wrists due to emotional distress.
Jiang Xiaoshuai immediately took charge of the emergency treatment, with Guo Chengyu assisting. After stabilizing the patient, Jiang Xiaoshuai insisted on staying by her side, fearing she might make another attempt. Guo Chengyu observed that merely watching her wouldn't resolve the underlying issue, but Jiang Xiaoshuai felt it was his duty. When the patient, Xiao Zhuang, eventually regained consciousness, she reacted with anger and confusion. In a struggle, Jiang Xiaoshuai was accidentally injured.
Guo Chengyu intervened, protecting Jiang Xiaoshuai and sternly admonishing Xiao Zhuang for her self-destructive actions, stating that such casual behavior causes pain to those who take love seriously. Xiao Zhuang apologized, and Jiang Xiaoshuai comforted her, urging her to love herself more. Afterward, Guo Chengyu tenderly bandaged Jiang Xiaoshuai's wound. Meanwhile, Wu Suowei was engrossed in his work when he received a phone call from Jiang Xiaoshuai, who excitedly shared "good news."
Jiang Xiaoshuai revealed that Chi Cheng's ex-boyfriend, Wang Shuo—referred to as the "Snake King" and the reason for a past conflict between Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu—was returning to the country in three days, with his flight scheduled for midnight. Jiang Xiaoshuai gloated, convinced that Chi Cheng would now abandon Wu Suowei, freeing them both from his grasp, and even suggested Guo Chengyu might pursue Wang Shuo. Wu Suowei feigned happiness, but the news deeply unsettled him.
His colleague noted that Chi Cheng had been unreachable for days regarding a contract. Later that night, Wu Suowei, seeing no messages from Chi Cheng, erupted in a fit of rage, cursing Chi Cheng as a "boot-licking bastard" and a liar, feeling foolish for having waited for him. The next day, consumed by anxiety, Wu Suowei went to Chi Cheng's residence, only to find that Chi Cheng had checked out two days prior.
The staff informed him that Chi Cheng, being from a wealthy family, had merely been "experiencing life" and had now moved on. Heartbroken and furious, Wu Suowei left, cursing Chi Cheng again. He then sought out Jiang Xiaoshuai, who, observing Wu Suowei's distressed state, continued to tease him.
Jiang Xiaoshuai suggested they celebrate Wu Suowei's freedom, then elaborately described Wang Shuo as a handsome, talented "heartthrob" proficient in various arts and a national athlete, implying he was far superior to Wu Suowei. Jiang Xiaoshuai recounted how both Guo Chengyu and Chi Cheng had been deeply affected by Wang Shuo, calling him a "deep tumor" that Wu Suowei, with his "small build," couldn't possibly remove.
He further provoked Wu Suowei by highlighting Wang Shuo's boldness in "messing around with other men behind Chi Cheng's back," contrasting it with Wu Suowei's perceived lack of courage to even have a relationship with Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei vehemently denied caring, but Jiang Xiaoshuai pointed out his obvious anger and anxiety. Alone that night, Wu Suowei was tormented by Chi Cheng's past declarations of love.
He anxiously watched the clock, convinced that Chi Cheng was about to reconcile with his "White Moonlight" (Wang Shuo). However, as Jiang Xiaoshuai's words echoed in his mind, Wu Suowei's despair transformed into a fierce possessiveness. He declared that Chi Cheng was now his and angrily dismissed any competition. Unable to sleep, he wandered into the yard, where he unexpectedly encountered Chi Cheng.
Chi Cheng revealed that the entire story of Wang Shuo's return was a setup, a deliberate test to push Wu Suowei to confront and express his true feelings. Overwhelmed, Wu Suowei passionately kissed Chi Cheng, confessing his grievances while proclaiming, "You are mine!" Chi Cheng, pleased with Wu Suowei's breakthrough, returned the sentiment. Wu Suowei insisted that Chi Cheng could only be with him and shouldn't think of anyone else.
Chi Cheng playfully downplayed the exaggerated stories about his past, even crediting Jiang Xiaoshuai for "making things up," and then suggested they make their relationship a "fait accompli." Their intimate moment was interrupted by a call from Chi Cheng's father, who sternly ordered him home, threatening to shut down his art company if he didn't comply. Chi Cheng promised Wu Suowei he would return soon.
Meanwhile, Guo Chengyu, seeking retribution for Chi Cheng's past actions that had distressed Jiang Xiaoshuai, devised a plan to sabotage Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei's relationship. He arranged a meeting with Wu Suowei at the "Heroic Saint Club," a well-known establishment for male escorts, under the guise of an "investment collaboration."
At the club, Guo Chengyu introduced Wu Suowei to a group of men, subtly implying they shared similar interests, and then remarked that Chi Cheng used to frequent the place. After Guo Chengyu excused himself to take a call, one of the male escorts, Xiao Tian, approached Wu Suowei and shared fabricated stories about Chi Cheng's past "kinky" activities at the club, even showing Wu Suowei what he claimed were "cigarette burns" inflicted by Chi Cheng.
Disgusted and enraged, Wu Suowei abruptly left, claiming urgent company business. Once Wu Suowei was gone, Guo Chengyu paid off Xiao Tian and the others, confirming his manipulative scheme. Furious, Wu Suowei immediately called Jiang Xiaoshuai, recounting the shocking "secrets" he had learned about Chi Cheng. Jiang Xiaoshuai, realizing that Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei's relationship was far from progressing, panicked and sought refuge at Guo Chengyu's home.
Chi Cheng, unable to reach Wu Suowei by phone, went to his company. There, Wu Suowei confronted him coldly, calling him disgusting and relaying Xiao Tian's message that he missed Chi Cheng. Chi Cheng admitted to his promiscuous past and offered Wu Suowei an opportunity to regret their relationship, but Wu Suowei continued to vent his anger. A dejected Chi Cheng later confided in Guo Chengyu that Wu Suowei refused to touch him, finding him "disgusting."
Guo Chengyu slyly suggested it was "retribution," and Chi Cheng even contemplated buying "medicine that can extinguish desire." Seizing another opportunity, Guo Chengyu's assistant deliberately sent a misleading message to Wu Suowei. The message, initially addressed to "Xiao Tian," stated that Chi Cheng was at the Heroic Saint Club and asked when "Xiao Tian" would arrive, followed by a quick "sent to the wrong person."
Wu Suowei, calling Chi Cheng a "horny dog" who couldn't resist temptation, immediately concluded that Chi Cheng was back at the club for male escorts and, in a fit of rage, rushed there. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng was already at the club, believing he was meeting a client for art installations.
Bursting into the room, Wu Suowei dramatically declared his "sovereignty" over Chi Cheng to everyone present, announcing that Chi Cheng was his and would no longer be available to the club's patrons. He then led Chi Cheng away, stating they were going to make their relationship a "fait accompli." Wu Suowei took Chi Cheng to a new, lavish home, playfully telling him it would soon be "your new home too, my little master."

Under charming lights, the atmosphere was thick with intimacy. To ease Wu Suowei's nerves, Chi Cheng gently covered his eyes, and Wu Suowei submitted to him. Chi Cheng affectionately urged Wu Suowei to call him "husband," a request Wu Suowei shyly refused. The next morning, Chi Cheng, already dressed, gave Wu Suowei a tender kiss and offered him a homemade breakfast. Wu Suowei found it difficult to move, his legs weak, but insisted he could manage on his own.
At the breakfast table, Chi Cheng playfully teased him, suggesting he eat well or he "won't last long." Overwhelmed, Wu Suowei tried to escape the situation by claiming his mother missed him and he wanted to go home. Chi Cheng offered to take him, but Wu Suowei, sensing Chi Cheng saw through his attempts, declined. Feeling cornered, Wu Suowei desperately tried to call Jiang Xiaoshuai for help, but his calls went unanswered.
He decided to go to the hospital to find him. An employee informed Wu Suowei that Dr. Jiang hadn't been on duty for several days, only appearing at the clinic in the middle of the night and acting suspiciously. Perplexed, Wu Suowei decided to wait at the dark clinic until midnight, hoping to see his friend. Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaoshuai had been secretly staying at Guo Chengyu's house.
Guo Chengyu teased Jiang Xiaoshuai about his cooking skills, which Jiang Xiaoshuai explained he learned because his parents had raised him like a daughter. Jiang Xiaoshuai explained his deep bond with Chi Cheng, with whom he grew up, and asked Guo Chengyu to keep his whereabouts secret. Later that night, as Wu Suowei waited in the clinic, he was startled by Chi Cheng, who had found him there.
Jealous, Chi Cheng confronted him, accusing him of rejecting him for two nights just to meet with Jiang Xiaoshuai. As they struggled, Jiang Xiaoshuai returned. Noticing the door was ajar and suspecting a thief, he armed himself before entering, only to be shocked when he discovered Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng intimately entwined. Chi Cheng brazenly invited Jiang Xiaoshuai to join them, but an embarrassed Jiang Xiaoshuai quickly retreated.
Wu Suowei felt utterly mortified, believing he could never face his friend again. Chi Cheng, still jealous of Wu Suowei's midnight search for Jiang Xiaoshuai, dismissed his explanation that he was simply worried about his friend and took his phone. Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaoshuai, believing Guo Chengyu had orchestrated the embarrassing encounter, angrily confronted him at his home. Guo Chengyu appeared fresh from the shower, making Jiang Xiaoshuai flustered.
Guo Chengyu then produced a bottle of what he called an "aphrodisiac essence," which Jiang Xiaoshuai accidentally sprayed on himself during a struggle. Under its influence, Jiang Xiaoshuai became disoriented and felt extremely hot, repeatedly calling out "Meng Tao" in his altered state. The next morning, he woke up with only a headache as a lingering effect of the previous night's events. Chi Cheng later visited Wu Suowei's mother, bringing supplements.
He found her unwell, and despite her assurances, he insisted on taking her to the hospital for a check-up. After bringing her home, Chi Cheng stayed for a chat. He highly praised Wu Suowei's work performance, and his mother expressed her worries about Wu Suowei's future due to his honest nature.
She then tearfully confided in Chi Cheng about Wu Suowei's past, recounting how he had dated a girl for three years and they were on the verge of marriage before she abruptly left him. While Wu Suowei claimed incompatibility, his mother believed the girl had abandoned him because their family was poor. Chi Cheng consoled her before giving her instructions for her medication and leaving.
Jiang Xiaoshuai returned to work, where a patient welcomed him back, having mistakenly thought his "old lover" had returned. Later, Wu Suowei confronted Jiang Xiaoshuai, who confessed that Chi Cheng had given him an ultimatum: he had five days to make Wu Suowei willingly sleep with him, or Jiang Xiaoshuai would face trouble.
Jiang Xiaoshuai admitted he had been hiding at Guo Chengyu's place because Guo Chengyu told him that Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng hadn't slept together yet, making him feel it was safe to avoid his "task." Wu Suowei, though taken aback, didn't blame Jiang Xiaoshuai, understanding he was coerced.
He lamented how easily he had fallen for Chi Cheng's cunning, comparing himself and Jiang Xiaoshuai to sheep and Chi Cheng to a fox, with Guo Chengyu being the most cunning of all. Wu Suowei decided it was time to confess his original intentions for approaching Chi Cheng, hoping that since both had made mistakes, they could start fresh. He asked Jiang Xiaoshuai if he and Guo Chengyu had become intimate, which Jiang Xiaoshuai denied.
Jiang Xiaoshuai then launched into a detailed analysis, concluding that Guo Chengyu actually harbored feelings for Chi Cheng. He supported his theory by pointing out how Guo Chengyu readily gave Wu Suowei a snake to save Chi Cheng's pet and took Wu Suowei to the hospital out of concern for Chi Cheng's reaction.
He further noted the deep rivalry between Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu over an ex-lover, Wang Shuo, and that neither man had sought out Wang Shuo in seven years. He concluded that Guo Chengyu's antagonism stemmed from unrequited love for Chi Cheng, even implying Chi Cheng reciprocated these feelings, citing an incident where Chi Cheng hesitated to hit Guo Chengyu during a fight.
Wu Suowei, however, dismissed this as speculation driven by Jiang Xiaoshuai's own desire to believe Guo Chengyu wasn't interested in him. Back home, Wu Suowei practiced his confession, planning to condemn Chi Cheng for his manipulation and then reveal his own initial motive. However, Chi Cheng arrived with delicious food that instantly disarmed him. After Wu Suowei ate, just as he was gathering his resolve, Chi Cheng presented him with a new outfit, further softening his anger.
Despite this, Wu Suowei finally confronted Chi Cheng, accusing him of hypocrisy for coercing Jiang Xiaoshuai. He expressed his hurt, trying to provoke Chi Cheng into an argument. Instead, Chi Cheng calmly admitted his fault, explaining he was impatient and uncertain of Wu Suowei's feelings. This sincerity left Wu Suowei reeling, unsure how to confess his own manipulative past.
After a brief exchange about Wang Shuo, Chi Cheng stated his absolute hatred for true deception, which he defined as being kept in the dark about things beyond his control. Taking a deep breath, Wu Suowei finally began his confession, telling Chi Cheng he had approached him with a purpose.

Wu Suowei attempted to reveal the truth about his initial intentions to Chi Cheng, but Chi Cheng misinterpreted his words. Chi Cheng believed that Wu Suowei's girlfriend of three years had left him because he was poor, and that Wu Suowei was now using Chi Cheng for personal gain. When Wu Suowei heard this, he realized the misunderstanding was profound and, finding it difficult to elaborate further, decided to let the false impression linger.
The next day, he confided in Jiang Xiaoshuai, admitting he wanted to explain but held back after Chi Cheng's assumptions. Wu Suowei reasoned that they came from different worlds, and with the exception of Guo Chengyu, no one else knew their history. He decided it was best to keep the secret for now and perhaps address it when their relationship was more stable.
While Wu Suowei was discussing the situation with Jiang Xiaoshuai, Chi Cheng called, playfully asking Wu Suowei to top up his phone bill and reminding him that Wu Suowei was in charge of all their household money. Wu Suowei initially refused, questioning Chi Cheng's "family" claim, but eventually topped up thirty yuan. He complained to Jiang Xiaoshuai that Chi Cheng was being deliberately clingy. Jiang Xiaoshuai countered that Chi Cheng's closeness indicated his love, suggesting Wu Suowei should reciprocate.
However, Wu Suowei felt he needed his own space and questioned if two men in a relationship needed to be so sentimental. That evening, Wu Suowei presented Chi Cheng with a new pair of pants, which turned out to be too tight. Despite the fit, Chi Cheng insisted he would wear them since Wu Suowei had bought them.
Wu Suowei then became jealous, comparing the pants to a snake Chi Cheng had kept for seven years from a previous boyfriend named Wang Shuo. This, in turn, aroused Chi Cheng, who teased Wu Suowei by calling him a "cheapskate" for taking money while avoiding spending it. Sensing Chi Cheng's rising desire, Wu Suowei tried to escape by claiming he had urgent company work that night. Chi Cheng, knowing better, stopped him, asserting he knew everything happening at the company.
The following day, a tired Wu Suowei vented his frustrations to Jiang Xiaoshuai, who was holding a charity free clinic. Wu Suowei complained about Chi Cheng's insatiable youthful vigor, describing how Chi Cheng couldn't control himself around him. He showed Jiang Xiaoshuai something on his phone, prompting Jiang to agree their bedroom situation was erotic but also to advise Wu Suowei not to over-satisfy Chi Cheng.
Wu Suowei lamented that he did want to satisfy him, but Chi Cheng was simply insatiable. During the clinic, an elderly patient praised Jiang Xiaoshuai's reputation and asked about expanding the clinic, to which Jiang Xiaoshuai admitted they lacked resources. Throughout this, Guo Chengyu observed Jiang Xiaoshuai silently from a distance. As Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei were nearby, openly displaying affection, Jiang Xiaoshuai felt a pang of jealousy. Guo Chengyu, noticing Jiang Xiaoshuai's discomfort, approached him.
Jiang Xiaoshuai, however, gave him the cold shoulder, mistakenly believing Guo Chengyu had arrived with Chi Cheng and harbored feelings for him. Guo Chengyu picked up on Jiang Xiaoshuai's suspicion. He questioned Jiang Xiaoshuai, asking if witnessing their intimacy made him uncomfortable and if he was still upset about the night they were intimate. Guo Chengyu assured Jiang Xiaoshuai he hadn't touched him and wouldn't do anything until Jiang Xiaoshuai accepted him.
Jiang Xiaoshuai retorted that Guo Chengyu's mind was full of Chi Cheng and advised him to back off, stating that Chi Cheng genuinely liked Wu Suowei. As Jiang Xiaoshuai prepared to finish work, he asked Guo Chengyu to leave. Suddenly, Jiang Xiaoshuai received a message on his phone, and his demeanor instantly changed. He abruptly left, ignoring Guo Chengyu, and headed to a bar to drink alone. Guo Chengyu, concerned, followed him.
After Jiang Xiaoshuai had consumed many drinks, Guo Chengyu intervened, trying to stop him. Overwhelmed, Jiang Xiaoshuai collapsed into Guo Chengyu's arms, sobbing and repeatedly proclaiming, "It's not my fault." Guo Chengyu took the heavily intoxicated Jiang Xiaoshuai back to his home and carefully looked after him. The next morning, Jiang Xiaoshuai woke up with a pounding headache and felt deeply embarrassed remembering his drunken antics.
Guo Chengyu, however, acted as if nothing unusual had happened, even preparing breakfast and hangover soup. When Jiang Xiaoshuai tentatively asked about the previous night, Guo Chengyu playfully teased him, saying he only kept praising Guo Chengyu as tall, handsome, considerate, and especially good to him, claiming he was more honest when drunk. This only served to make Jiang Xiaoshuai blush with greater embarrassment, making him swear off alcohol.
Later, Wu Suowei, determined to rekindle the excitement of dating, took Chi Cheng shopping. They were captivated by a unique pair of couple's watches that synchronized their hands. Wu Suowei found the concept fascinating but decided against buying them due to the price. Chi Cheng, noticing Wu Suowei's genuine interest, excused himself to use the restroom shortly after they left the store. Wu Suowei correctly guessed Chi Cheng's intentions, happily anticipating his return.
However, Chi Cheng reappeared empty-handed, much to Wu Suowei's disappointment. Just as Wu Suowei was about to leave, Chi Cheng surprised him by deftly fastening one of the watches onto his wrist. Afterward, the couple went for a swim, enjoying a playful time in the pool. Wu Suowei seized an opportune moment, submerging himself when Chi Cheng wasn't looking. When Chi Cheng turned around and couldn't find Wu Suowei, a moment of panic set in, and he quickly dove underwater.
The two then shared a passionate kiss beneath the surface. As they prepared to go home, Wu Suowei received a phone call, fabricated an urgent company matter, and departed in a hurry. Left alone, Chi Cheng, feeling bored, called Gang Zi to play video games. Wu Suowei's recent habit of leaving early, returning late, and taking secretive phone calls had started to raise Chi Cheng's suspicions.
When Gang Zi playfully suggested that Wu Suowei might be having an affair, Chi Cheng, though initially dismissive, decided to go to the company with Gang Zi to investigate. Upon their arrival, Chi Cheng discovered that Wu Suowei's recent clandestine activities were not due to an affair, but rather a meticulously planned surprise for him.
Wu Suowei had been secretly working on building a new, intricate ecological tank for Little Jealous One, the snake, describing it as a mini tropical rainforest. Touched by the gesture, Chi Cheng affectionately called Wu Suowei an "idiot" and gently tended to a small injury Wu Suowei had sustained. Wu Suowei then sincerely expressed that he was still adapting to a gay relationship but was determined to become a "top-notch boyfriend." Chi Cheng, deeply moved, assured him that he already was.

On New Year's Eve, Mei Li personally delivers Spring Festival couplets to Dr. Jiang Xiaoshuai, who is staying at his clinic for emergencies. Meanwhile, Wu Suowei is home with his mother. He notices her new outfit and is surprised to learn it was a gift from Chi Cheng, who also arranged for a doctor to provide regular home check-ups for his mother.
Wu Suowei's mother, touched by Chi Cheng's kindness, urges Wu Suowei to visit Chi Cheng's parents, but he deflects, claiming they are busy. Across town, Chi Cheng endures a New Year's celebration with his own family, finding the conversation unbearable and feeling detached despite their attempts at toasts and discussions about his future. Seeking genuine connection, Chi Cheng leaves his family's gathering and arrives at Wu Suowei's home, where Wu Suowei and his mother are preparing dumplings.
Wu Suowei's mother warmly welcomes Chi Cheng, expressing delight at his unexpected visit, while Wu Suowei is taken aback. After dinner, Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei go to the balcony to set off firecrackers. As countless fireworks light up the night sky, a romantic atmosphere envelops them, and they are drawn into a spontaneous kiss. Feeling lonely on New Year's Eve, Jiang Xiaoshuai is surprised by Guo Chengyu's unexpected arrival.
Guo Chengyu explains he came to bring him warmth, sensing Jiang Xiaoshuai would be alone. Guo Chengyu then prepares a lavish dinner for them. As they sit and chat, Guo Chengyu's phone repeatedly rings with calls from "Mom," but he ignores them. Jiang Xiaoshuai, sensing he might have urgent matters, encourages him to attend to his calls. Guo Chengyu leaves, leaving Jiang Xiaoshuai feeling a brief moment of disappointment.
However, Guo Chengyu quickly reappears with a cake, revealing his departure was merely a ruse for a surprise. Jiang Xiaoshuai, initially teasing him for using a "trick to coax children," makes a wish for them, expressing his hope for "everything to go smoothly for us." After the New Year, Jiang Xiaoshuai receives a video of his ex-boyfriend and former teacher, Meng Tao, publicly confessing to manipulative behavior.
Meng Tao, tearful and self-condemning, admits to exploiting his position to have relationships with multiple male students, gaslighting them, and framing them for promiscuity. The video triggers Jiang Xiaoshuai’s memories of the painful past: how after a fight, Meng Tao staged a setup and spread photos of him in a compromising situation, accusing him of being "dirty."
The public shaming left him contemplating suicide, but he was pulled back from the brink by an urgent call from a desperate parent whose child had fainted. Wu Suowei, present at the clinic, is outraged by the video and Meng Tao's past actions. Suddenly, Meng Tao appears in person, begging for forgiveness and revealing that he orchestrated the entire setup, hiring men to frame Jiang Xiaoshuai, who had never actually betrayed him.
Meng Tao desperately pleads with Jiang Xiaoshuai to ask his "friend," Guo Chengyu, to "go easy on me." Realizing Guo Chengyu's involvement, Jiang Xiaoshuai, filled with a mix of anger and revelation, confronts Meng Tao, telling him that everyone pays for their actions and that apologies are not always accepted. Wu Suowei echoes this, chasing Meng Tao away. Jiang Xiaoshuai then expresses his gratitude to Guo Chengyu, who admits he started following him and investigated his painful past.
Guo Chengyu explains that after seeing Jiang Xiaoshuai's warmth and resilience despite his deep hurt, he decided to help him "bury that insecure and self-pity past for good." Flashbacks confirm Guo Chengyu had coerced Meng Tao into the confession. Moved by Guo Chengyu's profound support, Jiang Xiaoshuai's feelings for him intensify. Guo Chengyu then takes Jiang Xiaoshuai out for a celebratory Cantonese dinner, describing the dishes with great enthusiasm.
As Guo Chengyu and Jiang Xiaoshuai head out for dinner, they unexpectedly encounter Wang Shuo. Wang Shuo greets Guo Chengyu with familiarity and amusement, remarking on his unchanged cocky demeanor. Guo Chengyu, however, remains cool and reserved. After Jiang Xiaoshuai politely steps away, Wang Shuo tells Guo Chengyu that Jiang Xiaoshuai is suitable, but Guo Chengyu sharply retorts that "my man doesn't need your approval."
Wang Shuo then reminds Guo Chengyu that he himself was "almost your man, too," but wasn't protected in the same way, noting Guo Chengyu's "mean streak hasn't changed." Wang Shuo mentions he's been back for six months, implying Guo Chengyu has been "hiding" and likens Chi Cheng to a "horse tethered for six years" that Guo Chengyu needs to reclaim before someone else does. Guo Chengyu dismisses the idea, suggesting it's too late.
When Wang Shuo says he's leaving in a few days and asks if Guo Chengyu isn't meeting Chi Cheng, Guo Chengyu confidently states that Wang Shuo won't leave, indicating his awareness of Wang Shuo's intentions. Wang Shuo concludes by calling Guo Chengyu "too clever to be likable." Back home, while Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei are looking at a phone, Chi Cheng spots a photo of Guo Chengyu and Wang Shuo in Guo Chengyu's social media.
His expression falters, and he quickly pours a glass of water to regain his composure, trying to hide his reaction from Wu Suowei. Almost simultaneously, Guo Chengyu texts Chi Cheng to inform him that he ran into Wang Shuo, who is in town specifically for Chi Cheng and wants to invite him out.
At the same time, Jiang Xiaoshuai sends Wu Suowei the same photo, warning him to "keep a close eye on Chi Cheng" because "the emotional damage from first love coming back is too real." Wu Suowei, visibly jealous, responds with sarcasm, urging Chi Cheng to "hurry up and chase him." He then reminds Chi Cheng of his past fierce statement about wanting to "kill" Wang Shuo if he ever saw him again.
Chi Cheng deflects Wu Suowei's accusation of jealousy and reassures him that while he once found the idea of confronting Wang Shuo satisfying, he no longer wishes to waste his time. He firmly promises Wu Suowei that his "heart only has one." Later, Chi Cheng, Guo Chengyu, and Wang Shuo meet for drinks. Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu maintain a composed facade, while Wang Shuo watches them with a knowing, sly smile.
Wang Shuo taunts Guo Chengyu about his physique, then subtly references a past intimate encounter with him, noting it was "only once," unlike with Chi Cheng, with whom he "played for three years." He also brings up their shared history of pursuing romantic interests in pairs, like the twins they once chased in college, and notes they are now doing the same with a "master and apprentice" pair. As they part ways, Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo leave separately. After walking a short distance, Guo Chengyu stops and looks back in the direction Wang Shuo departed.

After parting ways with Guo Chengyu and Wang Shuo, Chi Cheng walked some distance before looking back to find Wang Shuo still following him. Overcome with anger, Chi Cheng grabbed Wang Shuo by the neck, demanding to know why he had left for seven years and questioning his return. Wang Shuo shamelessly admitted he felt too ashamed to stay after sleeping with Chi Cheng, fearing Chi Cheng might kill him if he remained.
He then provocatively expressed his continued desire for Chi Cheng, claiming his appetite had been spoiled and no one else could satisfy him. Chi Cheng, repulsed, declared Wang Shuo disgusting and tried to leave, but Wang Shuo continued to pester him. Suddenly, a friend of Chi Cheng intervened, knocking Wang Shuo unconscious to resolve the confrontation. Returning home, Chi Cheng found Wu Suowei had meticulously crafted many snake-shaped sugar figures.
Wu Suowei explained his intention to blow a sugar figure for every breed of snake in Chi Cheng's collection, creating a unique series, simply because he thought it would be fun. Chi Cheng thanked him but his mind seemed elsewhere. The next day, Chi Cheng met with Jiang Xiaoshuai and was surprised to learn that Wang Shuo had been hospitalized.
Jiang Xiaoshuai suggested Wu Suowei visit Wang Shuo, seeing it as an opportunity for Wu Suowei to assert his position as Chi Cheng's partner. Wu Suowei was initially hesitant, unwilling to seek trouble when Chi Cheng hadn't explicitly confirmed their future together. Jiang Xiaoshuai then revealed that Wang Shuo had been back for half a year, hiding his presence, which he interpreted as Wang Shuo having intentions to win Chi Cheng back.
While Wu Suowei dismissed Wang Shuo's capabilities, he ultimately went to the hospital alone. There, he found Wang Shuo in Ward 309, vigorously playing cards, looking perfectly healthy. As Wu Suowei turned to leave in a hurry, he accidentally bumped into a man carrying medicine. Outside the hospital, Wu Suowei spotted Chi Cheng's new car and called him. Chi Cheng, however, lied, claiming he was with a client and would be back late due to a social engagement.
This left Wu Suowei feeling heartbroken, mistakenly believing Chi Cheng was spending the day with Jiang Xiaoshuai. Chi Cheng was actually at the hospital with Wu Suowei's mother, who was undergoing medical tests. She had asked Chi Cheng to keep her visit a secret from Wu Suowei (whom she referred to as "Da Qiong"), fearing he would be unable to cope with the news.
The doctor informed Chi Cheng that Wu Suowei's mother's condition was not optimistic; the preliminary diagnosis was pancreatic cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes, making surgery ineffective. The doctor advised focusing on alleviating her pain and improving her quality of life, suggesting more family time could potentially extend her life. Chi Cheng, heartbroken by the diagnosis, pressed for any other possible treatments, promising full cooperation.
Wu Suowei's mother reiterated her wish for Chi Cheng not to tell her son about her illness. Struggling with how to explain the situation to Wu Suowei and overwhelmed by grief, Chi Cheng went to a bar and drank excessively, returning home very late and intoxicated. Wu Suowei, though complaining about Chi Cheng's late return and his vague explanation of being with a "troublesome client," lovingly took care of him.
He made Chi Cheng sleep on the couch but later covered him with a blanket, admitting he was afraid Chi Cheng would freeze. The next day, Chi Cheng received a call from his former landlord, urging him to quickly move his remaining belongings from the old rental house as it was being re-rented. Chi Cheng mentioned to Wu Suowei that he was going to the suburbs to pack his things and invited him along.
Wu Suowei declined, stating he had plans to have a meal with Jiang Xiaoshuai. Later that evening, at the old rental house, Wang Shuo appeared, holding a small snake. He confessed he had often visited the place since Chi Cheng moved out, even though Chi Cheng was unaware. Wang Shuo further taunted Chi Cheng by bringing up the story of Chi Cheng killing the snake Huang Long for Wu Suowei.
Chi Cheng acknowledged it, asserting that all the snakes "deserved to die" after Wang Shuo's past actions. Wang Shuo then produced a small snake that had hatched from an egg Chi Cheng had left behind, presenting it to him. Feeling uneasy, Wu Suowei confided in Jiang Xiaoshuai.
He recounted seeing Chi Cheng's car at the hospital and Chi Cheng's subsequent lie about being with a client, and also mentioned that Chi Cheng's friend, Brother Gang, claimed not to have seen Chi Cheng all day. Wu Suowei believed Chi Cheng was covering up his presence at the hospital, possibly with Wang Shuo. Jiang Xiaoshuai, however, thought it was unlike Chi Cheng to be secretive if he truly wanted to see Wang Shuo.
He suggested that many misunderstandings arise from unspoken issues and advised Wu Suowei to do a "surprise check" at the rental house, hinting that Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo might be having an affair there. Wu Suowei, though apprehensive, decided to go, half-jokingly stating he hoped to catch them in the act so he could break up with Chi Cheng and have a singles party. Wu Suowei arrived at the rental house and found Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo together.
He witnessed Wang Shuo forcefully kissing Chi Cheng. Overwhelmed by heartbreak and a sense of betrayal, Wu Suowei left without confronting them. As he walked away, he overheard Chi Cheng receiving a phone call, being identified as "Zhang Liya's son" and urged to "Hurry to the hospital." Wu Suowei, believing he was now single, told himself he hadn't fallen deeply enough for Chi Cheng to be devastated, and that he had been right all along about Chi Cheng being unreliable.
Later, Wang Shuo arrived at Jiang Xiaoshuai's home, claiming to have nowhere else to stay and insisting on spending the night. Jiang Xiaoshuai was reluctant, pointing out he wasn't familiar with Wang Shuo and that Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu weren't there. Wang Shuo, however, flirted with Jiang Xiaoshuai, complimenting his cooking and even saying he liked him.
Despite initial resistance, Jiang Xiaoshuai, thinking that keeping Wang Shuo at his place would prevent him from bothering Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng, allowed Wang Shuo to stay. The next morning, Guo Chengyu arrived at Jiang Xiaoshuai's house. He found Wang Shuo loudly playing music and immediately turned it off, angrily questioning why Wang Shuo was staying there instead of a hotel and accusing him of messing with his belongings.
Wang Shuo remarked that Chi Cheng had "good taste" in the past, to which Guo Chengyu retorted, asking why he didn't say Guo Chengyu had good taste, implying a rivalry for Jiang Xiaoshuai's affection. Guo Chengyu then angrily sent Wang Shuo away. Afterward, Guo Chengyu expressed his annoyance to Jiang Xiaoshuai, questioning Wang Shuo's intentions and complaining that Wang Shuo had stayed overnight when he himself hadn't.
Jiang Xiaoshuai was secretly pleased by Guo Chengyu's jealousy, and the two shared a passionate kiss. Guo Chengyu then informed Jiang Xiaoshuai he had to go on a business trip and made him promise not to let Wang Shuo into the house again. At the hospital, Jiang Xiaoshuai was at work when Chi Cheng urgently approached him, asking for Wu Suowei's whereabouts.
Jiang Xiaoshuai was surprised, stating Wu Suowei had left his place after 9 PM the previous night and assumed he was with Chi Cheng. Realizing something was amiss, Chi Cheng surmised Wu Suowei must be at the company and decided to go there. Upon finding Wu Suowei at the company, Chi Cheng was met with a cold demeanor. He suspected Wu Suowei had witnessed the kiss with Wang Shuo at his old rental apartment.
Chi Cheng struggled to explain his overnight absence, trying to claim he was with a client again. Wu Suowei sarcastically noted Chi Cheng's newfound tendency to apologize, something he rarely did before. Chi Cheng tried to promise an explanation later, but Wu Suowei, already convinced of Chi Cheng's involvement with Wang Shuo due to the witnessed kiss and Chi Cheng's repeated flimsy excuses, simply accepted his apology with a detached demeanor.
Meanwhile, Wu Suowei's mother insisted on leaving the hospital, not wanting her son to become suspicious. A secretary then announced that "Mr. Wang Shuo" was there to see General Manager Wu Suowei, and Wu Suowei permitted him to enter.

Wang Shuo arrived at Wu Suowei's company, introducing himself and immediately taking on a condescending tone. He commented on Wu Suowei's outfit, noting it was from Chi Cheng and that Chi Cheng's taste remained unchanged, always favoring black. Wu Suowei, unfazed, asked Wang Shuo if he liked Guo Chengyu. Wang Shuo avoided a direct answer, instead characterizing Chi Cheng as a petty and annoying person who used to nag him constantly, even leading to arguments involving knives.
He asserted that whether he liked Guo Chengyu was irrelevant; what mattered was Chi Cheng's possessiveness over everything he did. Wu Suowei then deduced that Wang Shuo didn't genuinely like Guo Chengyu. Wang Shuo went on to define "liking" as unlimited tolerance and forbearance, while "love," he claimed, was the exact opposite: unreasonable and petty.
Before leaving, Wang Shuo handed Wu Suowei his home address and a password, inviting him to visit the next day to measure for "fixtures and furniture," offering the service as a free gift, despite Wu Suowei's polite refusal. He provocatively told Wu Suowei to "make more effort" because "being spoiled is not a good thing." Later that night, as Wu Suowei lay in bed, he tested Chi Cheng by remarking on how talkative Chi Cheng's old friend must be.
Chi Cheng, still awake, immediately guessed that Wang Shuo had come to see him. Wu Suowei commented on their "tacit understanding," which made Chi Cheng nervous. Chi Cheng quickly reassured Wu Suowei that his concern was with a past "matter," not Wang Shuo as a person, and guaranteed he could kick Wang Shuo out if Wu Suowei was uncomfortable. Wu Suowei simply said he believed him. The following day, Wu Suowei went to Wang Shuo's house.
As expected, Wang Shuo had set up a computer displaying old videos. Wu Suowei watched, initially trying to appear nonchalant, but as the videos played, showing Chi Cheng, Wang Shuo, and Guo Chengyu in affectionate and clingy interactions, a sense of jealousy began to stir within him. The videos showed Guo Chengyu often behind the camera or participating in their activities.
The most impactful moment was Chi Cheng's answer when Wang Shuo asked, "Who is the most important person in your heart, Chi Cheng?" to which Chi Cheng unequivocally replied, "Guo Chengyu." Deeply affected, Wu Suowei secretly copied the videos. As he was leaving, he encountered Wang Shuo's older brother, Wang Zhen, whom he recognized from their previous brief encounter at the hospital.
Impressed by Wang Zhen's boxing skills, Wu Suowei immediately asked him to teach him, explaining his desire to become stronger to "counterattack" someone at home. Wang Zhen agreed to teach him boxing at his house. Wu Suowei then took the copied videos to Jiang Xiaoshuai, seeking his analysis. They watched the video where Chi Cheng declared Guo Chengyu the most important person.
Jiang Xiaoshuai expressed surprise, noting that Chi Cheng seemed to have genuinely liked Guo Chengyu, but Guo Chengyu's constant filming suggested he didn't reciprocate those feelings. This raised a crucial question: if Guo Chengyu didn't like Chi Cheng or Wang Shuo, why had he slept with Wang Shuo? Wu Suowei mentioned that Wang Shuo had deliberately avoided answering if he liked Guo Chengyu, always deflecting to Chi Cheng.
They both concluded that Wang Shuo held the key to unraveling the truth of the past, though Jiang Xiaoshuai warned Wu Suowei to be cautious of Wang Shuo, likening him to a "venomous snake." Wu Suowei, however, vowed not to let Wang Shuo succeed in any schemes. Wu Suowei returned to Wang Shuo's house, not for decorating, but to train with Wang Zhen.
While Wu Suowei engaged in boxing practice, Wang Shuo tried to provoke him again, asking if Wu Suowei thought clearing things up with Chi Cheng would lead to a reconciliation. Wu Suowei dismissed the idea as unlikely. Wang Shuo then pondered creating misunderstandings between Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng, to which Wu Suowei simply replied, "You might as well give it a try." Wu Suowei clarified his true motive for being there was to help Chi Cheng resolve past issues.
Wang Shuo watched them train and grew jealous, making annoyed comments as he ate snacks. After Wu Suowei left, Wang Shuo complained to his brother, Wang Zhen, expressing his dislike for Wu Suowei and asking Wang Zhen not to associate with him. Wang Zhen retorted by calling Wang Shuo a "chameleon" and admitting that he felt like hitting Wang Shuo whenever he saw him.
Their sibling banter escalated into an argument about their height and personality, during which Wang Shuo took some medicine. Back with Jiang Xiaoshuai, Wu Suowei enthusiastically demonstrated the new boxing moves he learned from Wang Zhen. He praised Wang Zhen extensively, describing him as strong, gentle, and "super invincible cool." Jiang Xiaoshuai grew concerned, sensing Wu Suowei might be developing feelings for Wang Zhen and warned him against doing anything foolish, reminding him of Chi Cheng's deep affection.
However, Wu Suowei expressed doubts about Chi Cheng's sincerity, suggesting that Chi Cheng might no longer want him, and that he was simply "giving him a way out." Later, Wu Suowei discussed an art installation problem with Wang Zhen. Wang Zhen offered assistance, stating he had solved a similar problem before and offered the contact information of a helpful designer.
While Wang Zhen searched for the business card, Wu Suowei seized an opportunity to discreetly obtain Wang Shuo's outpatient medical record. The record showed Wang Shuo had been diagnosed with "bipolar disorder and severe anxiety." That evening, Chi Cheng noticed Wu Suowei chatting on his phone and asked who it was. Wu Suowei feigned poor phone signal and retreated to the bedroom. Chi Cheng, suspicious, messaged Wang Shuo, asking if Wu Suowei had visited his house that afternoon.
Wang Shuo, seeing an opportunity to sow discord, replied affirmatively and added a suggestive detail, claiming they had "practiced boxing hand in hand." He also sent a video of Wu Suowei and Wang Zhen training. Enraged by Wang Shuo's insinuation and the video, Chi Cheng immediately went to Wang Shuo's house, picked up Wu Suowei, and carried him back home. There, Chi Cheng restrained Wu Suowei with a chain, preventing him from leaving freely.
Wu Suowei, still defiant, intentionally provoked Chi Cheng by asking why he wasn't with Guo Chengyu. Chi Cheng reacted fiercely, like a hungry tiger, indicating a heated and passionate confrontation. Determined to understand Wang Shuo's past actions, Wu Suowei showed Wang Shuo's medical record to Jiang Xiaoshuai. Jiang Xiaoshuai explained that bipolar disorder typically involves alternating episodes of depression and mania, and in severe cases, can lead to auditory hallucinations, delusions, and extreme behavioral disturbances.
They speculated that Wang Shuo's condition might explain some of his extreme actions in the past. As they discussed, Wang Shuo unexpectedly arrived at Jiang Xiaoshuai's clinic. Wang Shuo brazenly told Wu Suowei that he was there to see Jiang Xiaoshuai and that they were now "on very good terms" and had "even slept together." Shocked and angered by this new revelation, Wu Suowei felt like an outsider and stormed out despite Jiang Xiaoshuai's attempts to stop him.
Jiang Xiaoshuai then confronted Wang Shuo, telling him to stop pretending. Wu Suowei, still upset, sought out Wang Zhen, and they played basketball together. Wang Zhen impressed Wu Suowei with his exceptional skills on the court. While they were playing, Chi Cheng drove up with Wang Shuo in the car, witnessing Wu Suowei and Wang Zhen together, triggering another wave of jealousy.
Wang Shuo used this moment to taunt Chi Cheng, mentioning "Little Jealous One" (Chi Cheng's pet snake) and suggesting they go to the snake park together. Suddenly, Chi Cheng received an urgent call from "Hongshan Hospital" about his mother, Zhang Liya, needing immediate payment for hospital expenses. He abruptly ordered Wang Shuo out of the car and rushed away. Wu Suowei, having seen Chi Cheng arrive with Wang Shuo, felt a pang of jealousy himself.
He sat on a park bench, letting the rain soak him, unwilling to move. Wang Zhen, noticing Wu Suowei's distress, came over with an umbrella, comforting him and offering to help him retrieve "Little Jealous One" from Wang Shuo.

Feeling downcast, Wang Shuo went to Jiang Xiaoshuai's home. Jiang Xiaoshuai initially wanted to refuse him entry but, seeing Wang Shuo's evident distress, softened and allowed him inside. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng was at the hospital with Wu Suowei's mother, who was experiencing dizziness and pain.
She firmly refused to let Wu Suowei know about her illness, explaining that if she were to die, Wu Suowei would only be sad for a few days, but if he knew now, he would suffer until that day. Chi Cheng comforted her, promising to stay and care for her that night and take her home in the morning if she felt better.
He then stepped out to call Wu Suowei, who confirmed he was at home and about to sleep. Chi Cheng informed him he had something to do and wouldn't be returning that night, gently reminding him to cover himself with the quilt before wishing him good night.
Wu Suowei, who was actually at Wang Shuo's house with Wang Zhen, misunderstood Chi Cheng's call, believing Chi Cheng was with Wang Shuo and confirming his fear that their relationship was nearing its end. The next morning, Chi Cheng returned home and anxiously searched for Wu Suowei. When Wu Suowei eventually appeared, Chi Cheng furiously demanded to know where he had been. Wu Suowei casually admitted he was at "Wang Shuo's place."
Chi Cheng pressed, asking if it was Wang Shuo or Wang Zhen, to which Wu Suowei sarcastically replied, "What do you think?" Enraged, Chi Cheng accused Wu Suowei of taking his tolerance for granted, citing previous incidents of him messaging Wang Shuo and boxing with Wang Zhen, and now daring to spend the night at Wang Shuo's house. He asked if Wu Suowei thought Chi Cheng treated him like a male prostitute.
When Wu Suowei remained silent, Chi Cheng declared he would no longer care for him and ordered him to "Get out." Wu Suowei silently left, and the two separated due to the misunderstanding. A dejected Wu Suowei then went to Jiang Xiaoshuai's clinic. Jiang Xiaoshuai initially thought Wu Suowei was joking about being kicked out by Chi Cheng, but seeing his genuine sadness, he realized it was true.
Wu Suowei explained his belief that Chi Cheng hadn't come home the previous night because he was with Wang Shuo, and that Chi Cheng's fury was a result of his own guilt. Jiang Xiaoshuai corrected him, stating that Wang Shuo had been with him all night and could not have been with Chi Cheng.
Wu Suowei, feeling despair, believed that Chi Cheng no longer loved him and had used Wu Suowei's attempt to make him jealous with Wang Zhen as an excuse to end their relationship. Declining Jiang Xiaoshuai's offer to stay, Wu Suowei decided to go home to his mother for comfort. Back home, Wu Suowei observed his mother looking haggard and having lost weight. He voiced his concern about her diabetes and offered to cook a nutritious meal.
While preparing, he discovered several items and learned from his mother that Chi Cheng had been visiting her daily, enjoying her cooking. Wu Suowei realized the "seasonings" were in fact expensive tonics. His mother praised Chi Cheng, calling him a blessing, better than a good wife. Wu Suowei, however, couldn't help but think bitterly that because of Chi Cheng, he might never have a wife.
Later that night, in bed, he checked his phone, wondering why Chi Cheng hadn't messaged him. He was startled by a noise from his mother's room and rushed to find her trying to conceal her pain, attributing it to indigestion. He helped her into bed, and they lay together, reminiscing about his late father and his childhood.
His mother expressed profound loneliness and her desire to reunite with his father in the afterlife, firmly rejecting Wu Suowei's suggestion of buying a new house for her to live with him, citing her deep attachment to their current home and his father's memory. She then shared her longing for him to marry soon and provide her with grandchildren. Guo Chengyu, having returned from his business trip, visited Jiang Xiaoshuai, who happily greeted him.
Jiang Xiaoshuai showed Guo Chengyu Wang Shuo's medical record from seven years prior, revealing frequent hospital visits before Wang Shuo went abroad. Guo Chengyu, who had been unaware of Wang Shuo's illness, only remembered Chi Cheng often drinking with him after arguments with Wang Shuo, and admitted he was unsure what truly happened between them back then. Jiang Xiaoshuai then pressed Guo Chengyu about his own involvement in the past.
Guo Chengyu confessed that he was "dead drunk" one night and woke up to find Wang Shuo lying beside him. In his stupor, he called Chi Cheng, who became angry and refused to answer. Soon after, Wang Shuo left, and Guo Chengyu could not confront him. Jiang Xiaoshuai playfully urged Guo Chengyu to put his "honeycomb-like thoughts" to use and investigate the truth, promising a sense of closure, to which Guo Chengyu eventually agreed.
Guo Chengyu then confronted Wang Shuo, demanding an explanation and showing him the medical record. Wang Shuo initially tried to evade the topic, but Guo Chengyu angrily accused him of letting him be defamed for seven years. Wang Shuo shockingly admitted he deliberately orchestrated the setup, allowing Guo Chengyu to take the blame as a manipulative strategy to maintain a connection with Chi Cheng after his departure.
He claimed to be experimenting with the idea that "hatred can turn into love," reversing the common saying. Wang Shuo even asserted that if he hadn't planned to "sleep" with Guo Chengyu, Chi Cheng would have. Guo Chengyu was stunned, realizing he had been tricked. He then asked what had made Wang Shuo suspect they were having an affair in the first place.
Wang Shuo explained that on a prior occasion, Chi Cheng, while drunk and sleeping on Wang Shuo's bed, had repeatedly called out Guo Chengyu's name. Infuriated by this absurd reason, Guo Chengyu chastised Wang Shuo for sacrificing his own reputation for such a ridiculous idea. Wang Shuo, however, defiantly maintained that "it was totally worth it." Later, Wang Shuo visited Chi Cheng, hoping to rekindle their relationship.
He observed Chi Cheng no longer smiled in photos as he once did in their old videos. Wang Shuo then deliberately mentioned that Wu Suowei had visited his house and seen those videos, attempting to provoke a reaction. Angered by Wang Shuo's manipulative tactics, Chi Cheng confronted him, asking his true intentions. Wang Shuo admitted he enjoyed watching Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei fight.
Chi Cheng, in a poignant explanation, conveyed that their past relationship now only felt like a scar on his body—visible, a memory, but no longer painful. He concluded that if hatred ran too deep, it could no longer be love, and asserted that his heart no longer belonged to Wang Shuo. Desperate, Wang Shuo demanded that Chi Cheng explicitly state he no longer loved him, promising to cease his harassment if he did so.
Chi Cheng hesitated to utter those words. Wu Suowei visited Jiang Xiaoshuai again, explaining he would be staying for a couple of days due to company matters. Jiang Xiaoshuai asked if he was still fighting with Chi Cheng, to which Wu Suowei confirmed, complaining that Chi Cheng hadn't sent him a single message and was likely with Wang Shuo.
Jiang Xiaoshuai then asked if he would return to Chi Cheng if he came looking, and Wu Suowei defiantly stated he wouldn't forgive him even if Chi Cheng knelt. They then discussed Guo Chengyu's findings: Wang Shuo had admitted to staging the sleeping arrangement with Guo Chengyu.
While Wu Suowei was shocked by Wang Shuo's manipulative behavior, Jiang Xiaoshuai cautioned that Guo Chengyu's testimony alone wouldn't convince Chi Cheng, urging Wu Suowei to find more evidence, perhaps from Wang Shuo's personal files. They speculated about Wang Shuo's true intentions for being back for half a year without making a move, concluding he must be scheming to win Chi Cheng back.
Wu Suowei realized Wang Shuo's repeated questions about his name, "Wu Suowei," indicated that he knew about Wu Suowei's past with Yue Yue but had chosen not to expose him yet. Wu Suowei resolved to move forward, regardless of the unknown outcome. Later, Yue Yue arrived at Wu Suowei's company, posing as a client seeking renovation items. Wu Suowei, as General Manager, greeted her.
Yue Yue, now a president's secretary, explained her visit was both business and a chance to see him. After some pleasantries, Wu Suowei offered to give her products for free. Yue Yue then inquired about his relationship with Chi Cheng, which Wu Suowei quickly dismissed as a personal matter, attempting to end the conversation and leave. Yue Yue, however, became emotional, calling him by his old name, "Wu Qiqiong," and accusing him of being heartless.
Wu Suowei reiterated that they were no longer related and asked her to leave. Just then, Chi Cheng appeared. He expressed irritation at Yue Yue's presence, questioning why she would visit knowing about his and Wu Suowei's relationship. Wu Suowei jokingly explained that she probably came for freebies, just like Wang Shuo. Their banter continued, confirming their reconciliation and the lifting of the misunderstanding.
Wu Suowei expressed his concern for his mother's haggard appearance and thanked Chi Cheng for visiting and eating with her. He then reflected on his mother's struggles, including multiple miscarriages before his birth, and how his career was just taking off, making him feel a shortage of time. Chi Cheng reassured him that he could handle company matters and encouraged Wu Suowei to spend more time with his mother. Wu Suowei then playfully teased Chi Cheng for being jealous. Chi Cheng, after finishing a cigarette, urged Wu Suowei to speak his mind, hinting at a deeper conversation.

Wang Shuo, resentful of his brother Wang Zhen's closeness to Wu Suowei, confronts him with sarcastic remarks, accusing Wang Zhen of siding with an "outsider" and "rival in love." When Wang Zhen remains silent, Wang Shuo's anger escalates, leading him to threaten to destroy Wang Zhen's boxing equipment. Later, Wang Shuo also confronts Wu Suowei, asserting that Wu Suowei has no chance against him for Chi Cheng's affection.
Meanwhile, Yue Yue visits Wu Suowei's mother, who appears less than pleased to see her. Yue Yue expresses her desire to reconcile with Wu Suowei, claiming their breakup was a misunderstanding caused by impulsiveness. She tells Mrs. Wu that they have been in contact for over a year and both want to get back together, but Wu Suowei is stubborn, and she is too shy to make the first move.
She asks Mrs. Wu to persuade Wu Suowei, leaving Mrs. Wu conflicted. At Guo Chengyu's birthday party, Chi Cheng, Wang Shuo, and Wang Zhen are present. Wang Shuo tries to rekindle his romance with Chi Cheng by bringing up their "tenth anniversary" and reminding him of how their relationship began at a past birthday celebration for Guo Chengyu.
Wang Zhen challenges Wang Shuo's claim of a ten-year relationship due to their significant time apart, but Wang Shuo insists his feelings never wavered. Chi Cheng remains indifferent, causing Wang Shuo to break down in tears. Enraged by his brother's emotional display, Wang Zhen throws a glass of wine at Wang Shuo. Amidst the chaos, Wang Zhen's phone falls, and Chi Cheng picks it up, discovering chat messages between Wang Zhen and Wu Suowei arranging to meet.
This discovery sparks a physical altercation among the group. Just then, Wu Suowei arrives, witnessing the scene, and leaves in anger, realizing that Chi Cheng's fury is never directed at him. Back home, Wu Suowei reviews a video left by Wang Shuo. The footage reveals that Wang Shuo staged the incident where he appeared to sleep with Guo Chengyu. The video shows Wang Shuo attempting to kiss a very drunk Guo Chengyu, who then leaves the room.
Wang Shuo, unable to get Guo Chengyu to return, simply goes to sleep alone. Wu Suowei concludes that nothing physical actually happened between them that night and that Wang Shuo had fabricated the entire situation. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng frantically searches for Wu Suowei and goes to his home. Wu Suowei's mother informs Chi Cheng that Wu Suowei's ex-girlfriend, Yue Yue, had recently visited, expressing her wish to reconcile after their three-year relationship.
Mrs. Wu also mentions that Yue Yue claimed they had been in contact since their breakup and that Wu Suowei also wanted to get back together, though Mrs. Wu herself disapproves of Yue Yue. Chi Cheng, confirming the name "Yue Yue" with Mrs. Wu, begins to understand the truth. His suspicions are further confirmed when he finds a photo of Wu Suowei and Yue Yue, along with Wu Suowei's diary.
The diary, titled "Plan to Catch a Guy," contains notes about "Chi Cheng: Rich family, likes to raise snakes" and the "Goal: Break them up," shattering Chi Cheng's last hopes. Wu Suowei, learning from a call with Da Wei that Chi Cheng found his hidden box of evidence, realizes that his deception has been exposed and a confrontation is inevitable. Wu Suowei returns to the clinic, where Chi Cheng confronts him about Yue Yue and the diary.
Wu Suowei bluntly admits his initial purpose for approaching Chi Cheng was to seek revenge on both Chi Cheng and Yue Yue. He adds that he intends to use Chi Cheng's methods to make money to meet Yue Yue's demands and reconcile with her, stating that as a straight man, he would not spend his life with Chi Cheng.
Heartbroken, Chi Cheng asks Wu Suowei if he has ever felt any sincerity towards him, offering to forgive everything if Wu Suowei would just nod. Wu Suowei defiantly refuses. In deep pain and anger, Chi Cheng declares that if his kindness was misinterpreted as a lack of love, then from that day forward, he would direct his affection towards Wang Shuo instead, telling Wu Suowei that they should never meet again. Wu Suowei accepts this, saying "Okay."
Later, Wu Suowei sends Chi Cheng the video evidence, explaining that nothing physical occurred between Wang Shuo and Guo Chengyu seven years ago. He sarcastically congratulates Chi Cheng on having his "knot untied" and being free to reconcile with Wang Shuo, thanking him for "paving the way." Chi Cheng simply replies, "That's it for us."
That evening, Chi Cheng visits Wang Shuo, who is overjoyed, mistakenly believing Chi Cheng has ended things with Wu Suowei and has come to reconcile with him, expressing that he had waited seven years for Chi Cheng's return. Chi Cheng confirms he received the video from Wu Suowei. After a tense conversation, Chi Cheng explicitly tells Wang Shuo, "I don't love you anymore." Wang Shuo breaks down in tears.
Chi Cheng explains that while the video clarified Wang Shuo's non-betrayal, it only affirmed his long-held feelings. He reveals that his pain was never about a physical betrayal with Guo Chengyu, but about Wang Shuo's decisive and unexplained departure seven years prior, which left him without answers despite years of waiting. Chi Cheng states that his heart, which remained completely Wang Shuo's for years after the breakup, was uncherished and has now completely moved on to Wu Suowei.
He returns a pet named "Little Jealous One" to Wang Shuo, symbolizing the final end of their relationship, and leaves. While Wu Suowei is still distraught, he receives an urgent phone call from the hospital. The hospital staff informs him that his mother, Ms. Zhang Liya, had fainted at home and was taken to the hospital by a neighbor. Since they couldn't reach her emergency contact, they found Wu Suowei's number in her recent calls. They warn him of the severity of her condition, prompting Wu Suowei to rush to the hospital in distress.

Wu Suowei was in distress after learning about his mother's illness. In the hospital corridor, he broke down in tears, with Jiang Xiaoshuai comforting him, urging him to stay strong and assuring him that his mother could live longer with a positive attitude. Wu Suowei questioned why Chi Cheng had not informed him earlier.
Jiang Xiaoshuai suggested Chi Cheng might have been worried and unsure how to convey the news, noting that the closest individuals are often the last to know. Wu Suowei then asked Jiang Xiaoshuai to consult with the doctor on his behalf. Before entering the room, a nurse advised Wu Suowei not to cry in front of his mother.
Inside the room, Wu Suowei tearfully confronted his mother, asking why she had hidden her serious illness from him for so long and blaming himself for being too busy. His mother, however, intervened, telling him not to blame Chi Cheng, as she had specifically asked Chi Cheng not to tell Wu Suowei because of his tendency to worry.
Wu Suowei reassured his mother that with advanced technology, her illness could be cured, promising to believe in her recovery and urging her not to cry. A doctor later informed Jiang Xiaoshuai that everything appeared normal. Wu Suowei diligently massaged his mother's feet; she considered herself a burden, but he quickly dismissed the thought. He thanked Jiang Xiaoshuai for consistently visiting his mother, to which Jiang Xiaoshuai replied it was no trouble.
Wu Suowei inquired further about his mother's condition, and Jiang Xiaoshuai noted her improved mental state but remarked that she acted like a child and slept for very long periods. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng secretly came to the hospital to check on Wu Suowei's mother, observing her from outside the room without entering. At the hospital, Wang Shuo's brother arrived and saw Wu Suowei.
He informed Wu Suowei that he had heard about his mother's condition and had arranged for a friend, a pancreatic tumor specialist from the States, to come and examine her. He mentioned the specialist was already on a plane and would arrive the next day. Wu Suowei was deeply moved and expressed profound gratitude, but Wang Shuo's brother simply said that friends help each other.
Back at home, Wang Shuo was in a despondent state, drinking and complaining to his brother. He accused his brother of being unsympathetic and unable to understand his heartbreak, claiming that since his brother had never been in love, he wouldn't know what it felt like. Wang Shuo questioned his brother's eagerness to find a doctor for Wu Suowei, doubting whether Wu Suowei would even appreciate it.
His brother, Wang Zhen, reprimanded him, stating that such behavior made him look down on Wang Shuo. Wang Zhen warned Wang Shuo against arrogance, reminding him that their mother did not want a son who disowned his family and that without his help, Wang Shuo would be homeless. He then cruelly stated that Wang Shuo's current behavior only validated Chi Cheng's decision.
To console Wang Shuo, Wang Zhen recounted a childhood memory of them fighting over a piece of sugarcane candy, breaking it repeatedly until it was gone, yet Wang Shuo clapped happily because "possession is more important than enjoyment." Wang Shuo simply noted that his brother had become more talkative. Chi Cheng, back in his own home, reflected on familiar surroundings, conjuring up memories of happy times spent with Wu Suowei.
Later, a chance encounter occurred at an elevator where Chi Cheng saw Wu Suowei. To avoid an awkward situation, Chi Cheng decided to wait for the next elevator. That evening, Guo Chengyu was practicing card tricks at home. Jiang Xiaoshuai returned and affectionately embraced him from behind. Guo Chengyu playfully complained about Jiang Xiaoshuai's frequent absences. Jiang Xiaoshuai explained he had been spending time with Wu Suowei, comforting him due to his mother's illness. Suddenly, Chi Cheng appeared.
Jiang Xiaoshuai's demeanor instantly shifted; his previous warmth vanished, replaced by jealousy as he angrily retreated upstairs. Guo Chengyu explained to a furious Jiang Xiaoshuai that Chi Cheng had insisted on staying with him, claiming his house was too big and lonely. Unconvinced, Jiang Xiaoshuai declared he could not be as indulgent as Guo Chengyu. In the living room, Guo Chengyu advised Chi Cheng to communicate clearly with Wu Suowei when problems arose, unlike brooding silently.
Chi Cheng, however, maintained that if Wu Suowei could figure things out independently, he wouldn't need explanations, and if he couldn't, he would be too stubborn to ask. Chi Cheng confessed to Guo Chengyu that if their reconciliation hadn't brought him some relief, he wouldn't have been able to endure. To lift Chi Cheng's spirits, Guo Chengyu suggested they play their childhood game, "Two Little Bees."
Later, Guo Chengyu coaxed Jiang Xiaoshuai back home for dinner by falsely claiming he was alone. As they were enjoying a seemingly intimate meal, Chi Cheng suddenly appeared with a snake to antagonize them. Jiang Xiaoshuai was furious, sarcastically remarking that Chi Cheng wasn't even human. Enraged by the intrusion, Jiang Xiaoshuai declared he would ignore Guo Chengyu for a week and stormed out to find Wu Suowei.
Jiang Xiaoshuai met Wu Suowei at his office and revealed that Chi Cheng was staying at Guo Chengyu's place. Wu Suowei ironically replied that Jiang Xiaoshuai should be the one who is jealous. Jiang Xiaoshuai then steered the conversation to Yue Yue, expressing suspicion about her sudden disappearance. He speculated that someone must have deliberately instigated her actions and provided capable assistance in hiding her, concluding it must be Wang Shuo.
In his office, Wu Suowei searched frantically for his snake, "Little Jealous One," after his assistant informed him the cleaning lady had thrown a large box, which contained the snake, into the trash. Wu Suowei rushed out and found the snake among the rubbish. Chi Cheng later visited a spicy hotpot restaurant, where the owner asked if he was alone and where Wu Suowei was.
The owner remarked that Chi Cheng was unlike Wu Suowei, who meticulously weighed his food to control the price, calling him a "penny pincher." The owner then informed Chi Cheng that her shop was closing due to declining business, a surprising revelation for him given its previous success. Chi Cheng went to the hospital again. After Wu Suowei stepped out, Chi Cheng entered his mother's room. Wu Suowei's mother told Chi Cheng she understood "about you both."
She then tearfully expressed her fear that "the path you both are taking will be very difficult." Chi Cheng tried to reassure her that everything would be fine, and she advised both him and her son to take care of each other. Later, Wu Suowei returned to find Chi Cheng gone. His mother expressed a desire to go home. Despite the doctor's recommendation against discharge due to unstable indicators, Wu Suowei respected her wish and took her home.
At home, his mother insisted on cooking for him, claiming to feel particularly energetic. As they sat together, his mother asked when he would find a daughter-in-law, to which he vaguely replied "soon." She then praised Chi Cheng, calling him a good person. Later, Wu Suowei found his mother asleep in the courtyard.
He gently spoke to her, confessing that he had started a company but kept it a secret to prevent her from worrying and apologized for not being more filial. Tearfully, he admitted he might never marry, acknowledging that he had lied to her. He tried to rouse her, only to realize she had silently passed away. Heartbroken, Wu Suowei cried out to his mother, begging her not to leave.

Wu Suowei's mother passed away, and a funeral was held with relatives and friends attending to offer their condolences. Chi Cheng arrived but paused at the entrance, his mind replaying Wu Suowei's mother's worries about the difficult path they might face together. Fearing their relationship would cause Wu Suowei immense suffering, Chi Cheng couldn't bring himself to enter and turned to leave.
Wang Shuo and his brother were also present, and seeing Chi Cheng's distress, Wang Shuo's brother approached him and offered to take him home. Wu Suowei returned to his home, now filled with vivid memories of his mother, which made his grief even more profound. Chi Cheng soon arrived and found him in a state of despair.
To shock him out of his sorrow, Chi Cheng adopted a harsh tone, taunting Wu Suowei that he had only come to watch him "make a fool of himself." He cruelly remarked on Wu Suowei's weight loss and claimed that seeing him suffer felt incredibly "comfortable." He goaded Wu Suowei to cry, saying the tears would only make him happier and that he deserved the pain for deceiving people. Recognizing Chi Cheng's underlying concern, Wu Suowei finally broke down.
Chi Cheng’s demeanor immediately softened, and he comforted him, repeatedly telling him to stop crying. In his vulnerable state, Wu Suowei clung to Chi Cheng, begging him not to leave. Chi Cheng reassured him he wouldn't, promising to stay with him. Chi Cheng dedicated himself to caring for Wu Suowei, trying countless ways to lift his spirits. He cooked Wu Suowei's favorite dishes, took him out for food, and went fruit picking with him.
He sang to him, took him shopping, and even stepped in to manage Wu Suowei's company, working overtime so he could spend more time with him. Chi Cheng sought to distract Wu Suowei from his grief with exciting activities, encouraging him to leave all his worries behind. These efforts gradually worked, and Wu Suowei's mood improved.
During a heartfelt conversation, they agreed to communicate more openly about their feelings and made a pinky swear to resolve issues as they arise rather than holding grudges. One evening, Jiang Xiaoshuai was alone at home when a power outage plunged his apartment into darkness, triggering his fear. After learning from property management that the power wouldn't be restored until the next day, he immediately called Guo Chengyu, who promised to come right away.
Guo Chengyu arrived and comforted the frightened Jiang Xiaoshuai. Later, as they lay in bed, Guo Chengyu reassured him he wouldn't do anything rash and wished him a good night. The next morning, Chi Cheng, who was staying at Guo Chengyu's place, teased him about his lack of progress with Jiang Xiaoshuai after the power outage incident. That evening, after a company dinner celebrating their success, Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng went for another meal.
Chi Cheng brought up Guo Chengyu and Jiang Xiaoshuai again, noting that they still hadn't gotten closer. Determined to help, Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng hatched a plan to put on a "show" for Jiang Xiaoshuai, hoping it would push him and Guo Chengyu together. The following day, Wu Suowei initiated their plan by visiting Jiang Xiaoshuai at the hospital.
He tearfully confided in Jiang Xiaoshuai, whom he calls "Master," fabricating a story that he wanted to break up with Chi Cheng. He claimed Chi Cheng had become impatient and physically abusive, hitting him and calling him "dirty" after Wu Suowei accidentally kicked him while sleeping. He further manipulated Jiang Xiaoshuai by saying Chi Cheng often compared him unfavorably to him. Enraged, Jiang Xiaoshuai invited Wu Suowei to stay at his place.
He then furiously called Chi Cheng to confront him. Sticking to the plan, Chi Cheng arrived at Jiang Xiaoshuai's home, where Wu Suowei continued his dramatic act, crying on the sofa and declaring he didn't want to live anymore. Chi Cheng provoked Jiang Xiaoshuai with taunts about his desirability and the temptation of someone seemingly unattainable. Wu Suowei then escalated the drama, accusing Chi Cheng of hitting him again.
When Chi Cheng made a threatening move, Jiang Xiaoshuai flew into a rage and tried to attack him but was held back by Wu Suowei, who pleaded with him not to blame Chi Cheng and took all the fault himself, calling himself "shameless." The elaborate act culminated in Jiang Xiaoshuai declaring he would go to Guo Chengyu immediately to prove Chi Cheng wrong about his supposed lack of "restraint."
While Wu Suowei feigned trying to stop him, Chi Cheng added a final taunt to ensure he would leave. Once Jiang Xiaoshuai departed, Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei celebrated their success, praising Wu Suowei's convincing performance. However, their celebration was cut short when Jiang Xiaoshuai unexpectedly returned. He had overheard their conversation, discovering their entire scheme, and angrily confronted them for calling him "brainless" and a "chatterbox." With their plan exposed, Chi Cheng immediately announced "Plan B." Wu Suowei called Guo Chengyu, apologizing for their failed attempt to help, but Guo Chengyu quickly hung up on him, rendering their backup plan unsuccessful.

Jiang Xiaoshuai was at home when he received a phone call from Guo Chengyu's assistant. The assistant expressed concern because Guo Chengyu had abruptly left after taking a call and refused to be followed. Jiang Xiaoshuai said he didn't know his whereabouts. Shortly after, Jiang Xiaoshuai heard a heated argument outside and discovered Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu in a confrontation. Guo Chengyu angrily accused Chi Cheng of being self-righteous and making decisions without permission.
Fearing a physical fight, Jiang Xiaoshuai intervened and pulled Guo Chengyu away, urging him to come home. After they left, Wu Suowei celebrated the success of their plan with Chi Cheng, who praised him and carried him away on his back. Back at Jiang Xiaoshuai’s home, he and Guo Chengyu settled on the sofa to watch TV. Jiang Xiaoshuai was visibly nervous, and as Guo Chengyu moved closer, romantic tension began to build.
Just as they were about to act on their feelings, the power suddenly went out. Jiang Xiaoshuai, who was scared of the dark, immediately suspected Guo Chengyu of cutting the power, which he denied. Guo Chengyu lit some candles, creating a romantic atmosphere that finally melted away Jiang Xiaoshuai's defensiveness. They embraced and spent a romantic night together. The following day, the four of them—Jiang Xiaoshuai, Guo Chengyu, Chi Cheng, and Wu Suowei—enjoyed a picnic together.
Chi Cheng teased Guo Chengyu about the previous night, while Wu Suowei bantered with Jiang Xiaoshuai. Jiang Xiaoshuai then shared a significant secret with Wu Suowei: Wang Shuo and Wang Zhen were not biological brothers, as Wang Shuo had been adopted by the family. Wu Suowei was utterly shocked. As they were discussing it, Chi Cheng suddenly approached, scooped up Wu Suowei, and carried him into a nearby tent over his playful protests.
With his career flourishing, Wu Suowei visited his parents' grave to tell them about his recent successes. He explained to his mother that he was saving for his and Chi Cheng's retirement, having now included Chi Cheng in his life plans. He told his father he had found a son-in-law—Chi Cheng—who, despite being a man, was perfect in every other way, never letting him do housework and trusting him with all his money.
As Wu Suowei prepared to leave, a group of men ambushed him, knocking him unconscious and taking him away. When he awoke, he was tied to a chair and realized he had been kidnapped. A kind-faced old man entered, whom Wu Suowei correctly deduced was Chi Cheng's father. At that moment, Chi Cheng returned home and heard a noise from the room.
His father quickly lied, claiming a new dog was being kept inside, and Chi Cheng, not wanting to press the issue, left. Unable to find Wu Suowei at his company or reach him by phone, Chi Cheng grew anxious. He discussed the disappearance with Guo Chengyu, who theorized that Chi Cheng’s father was responsible, as few would dare to harm Wu Suowei.
Recalling the strange noise and his father's lie, Chi Cheng became suspicious and began reviewing surveillance footage for clues. He called his father’s office, but an assistant claimed his father was in a meeting. Seeing through the evasion, Chi Cheng told the assistant to tell his father to "take care of himself." Later, he intercepted the family housekeeper, Auntie Wang, and pressed her for information.
She confessed that Chi Cheng’s father had kidnapped a "tall, skinny young man with big eyes" and was holding him at an abandoned factory in the suburbs. Meanwhile, a doctor was brought in to treat Wu Suowei's sprained ankle. Wu Suowei then attempted to persuade Chi Cheng’s father to release him by lying about an urgent Canadian order for his company.
However, Chi Cheng's father saw through the ruse and insisted Wu Suowei stay to keep him company, as his wife was away visiting their daughter. The father then lectured Wu Suowei, calling his own son a "repeat offender" who was beyond help, while claiming he was "saving" Wu Suowei, a "first offender," from a bad influence.
Chi Cheng located the kidnappers at the abandoned factory, but they revealed they no longer knew Wu Suowei's location, as his father had taken him away. Guo Chengyu advised Chi Cheng against confronting his father directly while Wu Suowei was still his captive. Wu Suowei was, in fact, taken back to Chi Cheng's home. Realizing Chi Cheng would be searching elsewhere, he found an old DV camera. While fixing it, Chi Cheng's father saw him and called him a "penny-pincher."
Using the camera and his watch, Wu Suowei recorded a coded message, hoping Chi Cheng would receive it. Chi Cheng later received a series of numbers, including "9, 5, 5, 8, 8, 8" and "5, 2, 0, 8," but struggled to decipher their meaning. Guo Chengyu suggested they show the code to Jiang Xiaoshuai, believing he might understand Wu Suowei better.
Jiang Xiaoshuai immediately recognized "520" as "I love you" and interpreted "5888" as "I'm rich," due to the similar pronunciation of "eight" and "rich" in Chinese. He joyfully concluded that the message meant Chi Cheng's father had given Wu Suowei a lot of money and that everything was fine. Impressed by this logic, Chi Cheng decided he would go home the next day.

Wu Suowei woke up early, eagerly anticipating Chi Cheng's arrival to rescue him and hoping Chi Cheng had understood the secret mark he left behind. When he heard a knock at the door, Wu Suowei excitedly rushed to open it, believing it was Chi Cheng, only to find Chi Cheng's father instead. Chi Cheng's father, who had been holding Wu Suowei captive, had not physically harmed him.
He attempted to persuade Wu Suowei to break off his relationship with Chi Cheng and offered to let him go. Wu Suowei, however, deliberately acted repugnant, hoping to provoke Chi Cheng's father into releasing him, but his attempts were unsuccessful. Noticing Wu Suowei's lack of business management experience, Chi Cheng's father decided to take him to the company to observe and learn advanced management practices.
Wu Suowei feigned excitement, then clutched his stomach and claimed he needed to use the restroom, seeing it as an opportunity to plan his escape. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng had already arrived outside the villa and swiftly incapacitated the two bodyguards stationed there. From the bathroom window, Wu Suowei witnessed the bodyguards being dealt with, immediately leaped out the window, and fled. Chi Cheng, furious, stormed into the living room and confronted his father.
Seeing Wu Suowei escape, Chi Cheng quickly changed his demeanor, feigning an apology and concern for his father to create a diversion, allowing Wu Suowei to get away. Distracted by Chi Cheng's sudden change, his father only realized Wu Suowei had escaped after Chi Cheng had left. After being rescued, Wu Suowei feigned a pitiful appearance, and Chi Cheng, feeling guilty, embraced him. The two then sweetly shared a bath in the tub.
Chi Cheng also asked Wu Suowei about the coded message he sent, admitting he couldn't decipher it, unlike Jiang Xiaoshuai. Wu Suowei joked that he would have to take charge, leading to a playful argument about who would be the "top" and "bottom" in their relationship. Because his family continued to reject Wu Suowei, Chi Cheng remained with him, reluctant to return home.
Wu Suowei, dedicated to their company, insisted on climbing a ladder himself to fix a drawing detail despite Chi Cheng's concern, stating he wouldn't come down until it was perfect. He expressed his hope that if their company's show went well, they could achieve industry recognition and he could live lavishly. Later, Wu Suowei persuaded Chi Cheng that he couldn't indefinitely avoid his parents. He encouraged Chi Cheng to visit them, offering to work on gaining their acceptance himself.
Chi Cheng reluctantly agreed to go home alone for a few days. Upon Chi Cheng's return home, his father's car unexpectedly broke down just as he was about to leave for a drink. Chi Cheng offered to drive him, but his father, still upset, initially refused. However, with time pressing, he had no choice but to accept a ride.
During the trip, Chi Cheng thoughtfully gave his father hangover medicine, a gesture his father later proudly explained to colleagues was from his caring son. Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu were enjoying a romantic moment when Wu Suowei abruptly appeared. Since Chi Cheng was at his parents' home, Wu Suowei decided to stay and sleep at Jiang Xiaoshuai's place.
That night, however, as he lay awake in the guest room, Wu Suowei felt a profound emptiness while listening to Jiang Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu's playful chatter from the other room. Unable to sleep, he quietly left the house. He drove aimlessly through the streets before returning to his old, now desolate, home. Gazing at the trees in the yard, he was overcome with memories of his father holding him to pick fruit as a child.
Later that evening, Chi Cheng had a long conversation with his father. His father expressed concern about Chi Cheng's relationship, worrying about the absence of children and a potentially difficult future. Chi Cheng, however, maintained his own perspective, stating that he and Wu Suowei were working hard for their future, building their company as proof of their commitment. He emphasized that Wu Suowei had encouraged him to come home and spend time with his father.
Unable to reach an agreement, Chi Cheng left to find Wu Suowei, who, feeling bored and lonely, burst into tears of relief and joy upon seeing him return. Soon after, Chi Cheng's sister, Jiali, arrived home with her child, Doudou. Chi Cheng's father was overjoyed to see his grandson. Chi Cheng also returned home and, feeling affectionate towards his nephew, took Doudou to visit Wu Suowei. Doudou and Wu Suowei immediately bonded, playing happily together.
When Jiali arrived to pick up Doudou, her son charmingly referred to Wu Suowei as "Auntie." Jiali later spoke with her father, arguing that his interference in Chi Cheng's relationship was disrespectful and that society's views were evolving. Her father, however, dismissed her arguments, declaring he didn't raise his children to bring embarrassment to the family. Suddenly, Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng's company was reported for tax evasion, and the police took Chi Cheng away for investigation.
Wu Suowei was frantic and immediately initiated an internal accounting review. He discovered that the ledgers being investigated by the police were not the original ones recorded by their accountant; they had clearly been tampered with. It was revealed that Manager Lin, who had a minor in accounting, had taken leave that day. Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaoshuai urged Guo Chengyu to use his connections to help. Guo Chengyu assured them he had hired a lawyer and was investigating.
In detention, a guard encouraged Chi Cheng to eat, informing him that his lawyer would arrive the next day. Wu Suowei later learned that the alleged mastermind behind the tax evasion report was someone named Wang Zhenlong.

After a thorough investigation, Wu Suowei discovered that the person who reported his company was Wang Zhenlong. He vividly recalled that Wang Zhenlong was the man Yue Yue had left him for, and he was surprised that after all this time, Wang Zhenlong was still trying to harm him. Wu Suowei shared his findings with Da Wei, confirming that he knew Wang Zhenlong "very well" and lamenting that even after so long, Wang Zhenlong wouldn't let him off.
Despite Da Wei's attempts to stop him, Wu Suowei went to confront Wang Zhenlong at an abandoned warehouse. At the warehouse, Wang Zhenlong greeted Wu Suowei with a sneer, asking if he was the famous "Wu Qiqiong." He accused Wu Suowei of getting involved with his "love rival" Chi Cheng for a small sum of money, remarking that the bricks he threw at Wu Suowei years ago didn't knock sense into him but instead "changed his sexual orientation."
Wang Zhenlong mocked Wu Suowei, asking how it felt to be "mounted by your love rival." Wu Suowei urged Wang Zhenlong to target him directly instead of involving Chi Cheng. Wang Zhenlong revealed that a past incident involving Chi Cheng was responsible for his crippled leg, forcing him to rely on a cane for the rest of his life. Wu Suowei countered, pointing out that Wang Zhenlong drove while drunk, making him responsible for his own injury.
Wang Zhenlong then confirmed he reported the fake accounts, believing it was enough to get Chi Cheng into serious trouble. Desperate, Wu Suowei offered to pay any price to free Chi Cheng, even kneeling before Wang Zhenlong and pleading with him. However, Wang Zhenlong coldly refused, stating that he didn't want money; he wanted Chi Cheng to spend "three to five years in prison to pay for my leg."
He scoffed at Wu Suowei's knees, saying Wu Suowei could at least still walk, run, and kneel, unlike him. Returning from his futile confrontation, Wu Suowei informed Da Wei that his company had been closed, including the showroom. With no income, he planned to go back to selling sugar figurines. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng's father seemed indifferent to his son's plight, watching TV and remarking that Chi Cheng "should taste some hardship."
Chi Cheng's mother, however, was distraught, questioning her husband's inaction towards their only son. Wu Suowei then visited Chi Cheng's parents. Chi Cheng's father immediately accused Wu Suowei of deceiving Chi Cheng into co-founding the company and becoming the legal representative, implying Wu Suowei plotted to make Chi Cheng take the fall. Wu Suowei apologized, admitting the trouble began when they started the company but denied any intention of framing Chi Cheng.
He even offered to take Chi Cheng's place in prison if possible. Chi Cheng's father rejected his apology and offer, stating that if the crime was confirmed, Chi Cheng's future would be ruined. Wu Suowei vowed to get Chi Cheng out "unharmed, no matter the price," but Chi Cheng's father remained unyielding. Around the same time, Wang Shuo excitedly informed his brother Wang Zhen that Chi Cheng had been arrested, urging him to return to China to witness the event.
Wang Zhen was initially reluctant to "kick someone when they're down," but when Wang Shuo mentioned bothering Wu Suowei, Wang Zhen agreed, eager to "bully him" now that Chi Cheng was gone. Wu Suowei set up his sugar figurine stall on the street. Wang Shuo and Wang Zhen soon appeared. Wang Shuo mocked Wu Suowei's new profession, asking about his "supporter" Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei retaliated by telling Wang Shuo that he was not his parents' biological child.
This angered Wang Shuo, but Wang Zhen quickly intervened, pulling his brother away. Later, Wu Suowei discussed Wang Zhen and Wang Shuo's unexpected return with Da Wei, speculating that Wang Shuo likely returned to laugh at Chi Cheng, though he believed Wang Zhen wouldn't. Wu Suowei then decided to send cash to Chi Cheng in the detention center, as the store there only accepted cash.
Da Wei suggested sending a bag full of loose change, hoping it would convey to Chi Cheng that it was "hard-earned money" Wu Suowei had accumulated. One night, while still selling sugar figurines, Wu Suowei spotted Lin Yanrui, the person who helped Wang Zhenlong with the fake accounts. Wu Suowei chased him down, beat him, and then brought him to Jiang Xiaoshuai's clinic for treatment.
Lin Yanrui confessed that his grandmother had cancer and desperately needed money for expensive imported medicines. Wang Zhenlong had promised him ¥1,000,000 to fake the accounts, which Lin Yanrui did, sending Chi Cheng to the detention center. However, Wang Zhenlong then refused to pay the final amount. Wu Suowei, showing sympathy, offered to connect Lin Yanrui with a cancer specialist he knew.
But Lin Yanrui then demanded ¥5,000,000 from Wu Suowei to testify against Wang Zhenlong, arguing that his career would be ruined if he turned himself in, and ¥5,000,000 was a fair price to clear Chi Cheng's name. With his company sealed and no money, Wu Suowei faced a difficult situation. Jiang Xiaoshuai offered his personal savings, but Wu Suowei politely declined, insisting on solving the matter independently. He decided to put his old family house on the market.
Shortly after, a buyer came to view the house. The buyer was disrespectful, smoking inside despite Wu Suowei's pleas, and then tried to heavily discount the price. Although the house was valued at ¥7,000,000, the buyer offered ¥6,000,000, then immediately dropped it to ¥5,000,000. Desperate for money, Wu Suowei reluctantly accepted the ¥5,000,000 but stipulated that the house's original layout and a specific loquat tree must not be touched. The buyer grudgingly agreed.
As Wu Suowei packed his belongings, he looked around his old home with a heavy heart, apologizing to his deceased parents and promising to buy the house back someday. Later, Wu Suowei heard from his lawyer that preliminary clues had been found, greatly reducing Chi Cheng's suspicion, and that he could visit Chi Cheng soon. He felt a mix of nerves rather than pure happiness about the impending visit.
When the day came, Wu Suowei finally visited Chi Cheng in the detention center. Chi Cheng, appearing to have lost weight, asked if Wu Suowei missed him, to which Wu Suowei replied he had missed him so much he "handed over my savings." Chi Cheng pressed further, asking what else he "handed over." Wu Suowei then revealed he had sold their old house. Chi Cheng was shocked and expressed dismay, asking why Wu Suowei hadn't sold his own house instead.
Wu Suowei explained that he didn't want Chi Cheng's family to look down on Chi Cheng because of him. He lightened the mood by joking that Chi Cheng always called him stingy, but this time he had "given everything I've got."
Wu Suowei then confessed his deep fears, admitting he regretted not giving Chi Cheng more pocket money in the past and that he sold the house not just for Chi Cheng's freedom, but for his own sense of security, as he was terrified of sleeping alone. He declared he didn't care for a lavish lifestyle; he simply wanted Chi Cheng to come back. Overwhelmed, Chi Cheng's only response was, "I hate you." The visit concluded shortly after.

Chi Cheng’s mother, having learned from Guo Chengyu that Wu Suowei sold his parents' old house to secure Chi Cheng’s release, felt a pang of guilt, especially after her previous harsh dismissal of Wu Suowei. While driving with Chi Cheng’s father, she spotted Wu Suowei selling sugar figurines at a cultural square. Despite her husband's initial reluctance and skepticism about Wu Suowei's motives, she insisted on stopping.
She warmly greeted Wu Suowei, apologizing for her past harsh words and offering financial help so he wouldn't have to hawk on the street. Wu Suowei politely declined, explaining he was simply enjoying the experience of life outside the office. He then crafted a special rabbit sugar figurine for her, knowing from Chi Cheng that she was born in the year of the rabbit, which delighted her.
Back in the car, Chi Cheng’s father, though outwardly dismissive of the figurine as "junk" and complaining about owing favors to someone he once deemed "petty," secretly took a bite and admitted it was quite sweet, showing a softening in his stance towards Wu Suowei. Meanwhile, Guo Chengyu visited Chi Cheng with a lawyer and retrieved a note Chi Cheng had written for Wu Suowei.
The note, which read, "It's not that I hate you, I just can't let go," deeply saddened Wu Suowei as he reflected on his memories with Chi Cheng. That evening, Jiang Xiaoshuai informed Wu Suowei that Chi Cheng's verdict was scheduled for the next day and urged him to attend.
Wu Suowei, however, feigned commitment to his stall, secretly fearing that his presence might further upset Chi Cheng during such a difficult time, and admitted his discomfort facing Chi Cheng's parents in court. The next day, Chi Cheng's parents and friends, including Jiang Xiaoshuai, gathered at the courthouse. Chi Cheng's father, still pretending indifference, declared Chi Cheng deserved to suffer, though his wife quickly retorted. Thankfully, Chi Cheng was released. Upon stepping out, his first question was for Wu Suowei.
Learning that Wu Suowei was still selling sugar figurines, Chi Cheng promptly took his father's car keys and sped off to find him. Wu Suowei was at his stall, lamenting two missing sugar figurines, when Jiang Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu ambushed him with water guns. Soon, Wang Shuo and Wang Zhen joined in, surrounding Wu Suowei and relentlessly spraying him. Just as the chaotic water fight peaked, Chi Cheng arrived in a water truck.
He unleashed a powerful water jet on everyone, turning the chaotic scene into a joyful, artificial downpour where everyone laughed and played. After the water fight, Wu Suowei playfully complained to Chi Cheng about being bullied by the others, though his smile betrayed his happiness. Overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude for Wu Suowei's sacrifice in selling his house, Chi Cheng embraced him.
Later that night, as they lay in bed, Wu Suowei, exhausted from prolonged stress and overwork, quickly fell asleep in Chi Cheng's arms and remained unconscious for a full day and night. Chi Cheng stayed faithfully by his side, refusing to leave. Concerned that Chi Cheng hadn't eaten while tending to Wu Suowei, Guo Chengyu brought food to their bedroom, playfully chiding Chi Cheng for being "too mushy."
Wu Suowei finally woke up, and Chi Cheng offered him some of Guo Chengyu's cooking. Wu Suowei jokingly remarked that his "happy life" was beginning, to which Chi Cheng retorted it was "about to end." Later, Jiang Xiaoshuai found Guo Chengyu overseeing renovations at a new location. Guo Chengyu revealed that he had acquired a larger space and designed its layout to fulfill Jiang Xiaoshuai's dream of expanding his clinic and seeing more patients.
He also explained plans to convert Wu Suowei's former bedroom into a staff lounge and make the rooftop their private retreat. Jiang Xiaoshuai was deeply moved, realizing Guo Chengyu had sold his snake park to finance this venture, calling it a "betrothal gift." Guo Chengyu assured him that as long as Jiang Xiaoshuai liked it, the sacrifice was worth it, declaring, "Shuaishuai, you can be responsible for loving the world, and I'll be responsible for loving you."
As they leaned in for a kiss, they were interrupted by arriving construction workers. Chi Cheng then brought Wu Suowei to his parents' home, where his parents showed clear acceptance of Wu Suowei. Doudou, Chi Cheng's nephew, was delighted to see Wu Suowei, affectionately calling him "Auntie," and they all played together. That evening, Wu Suowei brought Doudou into their bedroom, letting him sleep between them.
While Wu Suowei doted on the child, Chi Cheng grew playfully jealous of Doudou being a "barrier" between them, insisting Doudou sleep on the side or be returned to his sister the next day. The following morning, Chi Cheng took Doudou to his sister. Afterward, he blindfolded Wu Suowei and led him to a surprise. Wu Suowei, both curious and a little worried about being "sold," was thrilled to discover Chi Cheng had bought back his old house.
He was especially touched that all the interior furnishings were exactly as he'd left them. Although the original loquat tree in the courtyard had been sold after the house changed hands, Chi Cheng had gone to great lengths, even tracking it through surveillance footage and "lost item posts," to find and repurchase it, restoring the home completely.
As Wu Suowei climbed the tree and joked about their time together, Chi Cheng confirmed they had been a couple for "one year and two months," and Wu Suowei expressed how the passion felt as fresh as ever. Wu Suowei concluded, "I've got a home again," ready for their happy life together.
