After the taxi pulled away, Haiming quietly stepped out from the shadows to retrieve the wet shoes Huan’er had left behind. However, the "men in black" were actually employees sent by Gao Mingshan to bring her to a meeting. The final confrontation took place at a cigar bar. Unknown to Huan’er, Mingshan had Haiming on a live phone call, intending to expose her supposed greed.
Mingshan mocked her for the magazine scandal and asked how much money it would take for her to leave his son.
