When Xiaojue hesitates, worried about the awkwardness of seeing his ex-girlfriend, Huan'er signals Mengmeng to use flattery.
Mengmeng calls him the most successful person in their class and mentions how everyone is eager to hear about his life in the UK. Enjoying the ego boost, Xiaojue agrees to attend on Friday evening at the Crown Hotel's Pearl Hall. Cheng Die'en visits Xiaojue at his hotel, where he mentions the reunion. When she asks to attend, Xiaojue dissuades her by insulting his classmates' social standing, claiming she would feel uncomfortable with their constant flattery.
Die'en is frustrated, noting that since their return, he has refused to introduce her to his family or friends. To manipulate her, Xiaojue fabricates a story about his father being terminally ill in a hospital back home and the family being broke because they spent everything on his education. A sympathetic Die'en hands him a savings card with 200,000 RMB (password: 000000). After a show of reluctance, Xiaojue accepts the money, promising to repay her.
Hu Tiehan finds Zhu Mengmeng to offer a sincere apology for his previous judgment. Mengmeng forgives him but "punishes" him by demanding he take her to a shooting range. There, Tiehan instructs her on proper form, telling her to relax and focus. Later, Mengmeng meets Lin Huan'er at Coastal Park. Seeing Mengmeng's radiant expression, Huan'er correctly guesses she was just with Tiehan.
Mengmeng admits that while she once viewed the relationship between Huan'er and Xiaojue as a "love myth," she now sees the suffering it caused and feels that Tiehan is a far more reliable partner. Ou Xiaojue prepares meticulously for the reunion, even tearing up old photos of Huan'er to signal a fresh start. Xiaojue leans into the persona of a "returned elite," affecting a pretentious London accent. Meanwhile, in the restroom, Juan'er and Miss Li gossip about Mengmeng’s flashy outfit, mocking her art hobbies as merely a product of her father's wealth. Hu Tiehan overhears them and, in a silent act of defiance, tosses a used tissue near them, remarking that he can no longer distinguish between actual trash and certain people.
As dinner begins, the classmates gossip about Lin Huan'er, assuming she skipped the event because she dumped Xiaojue for a rich man. Just then, Huan'er enters looking elegant and carrying a luxury bag, sparking further rumors. Xiaojue plays the martyr, giving a speech about his seven years of hardship—scrubbing dishes and washing bowls—to forge his character.
He "magnanimously" wishes Huan'er happiness in her "new life," prompting the classmates to toast him as the pride of their class while shaming Huan'er for being a gold digger. Lin Huan'er interrupts the flattery by projecting Xiaojue's official expulsion notice from his university due to failing grades. She then presents bank records proving she was the one who funded his lifestyle.
However, Xiaojue is prepared; he produces a bank card and claims he has already repaid the 200,000 RMB to Huan'er's father to settle the debt. This display of "integrity" causes the fickle classmates to turn their support back to him. The situation reaches a breaking point when Cheng Die'en walks in, followed by Gao Haiming. She confronts Xiaojue, asking how he explains the three years they spent together abroad.
She reveals he used Huan'er's money to live with her while deceiving her into becoming "the other woman." Xiaojue tries to blame Huan'er for setting him up, but Die'en exposes his final scam. Gao Haiming had anticipated Xiaojue would swindle Die'en and had secretly provided her with an empty bank card to give him. Realizing the card he used to "repay" the debt was worthless and his lies were fully unraveled, Xiaojue is left humiliated as Die'en leaves him.
With the truth out, Gao Haiming takes the group for a second round of food at the wonton stall Huan'er loves. The four friends share a meal and play a game. When Huan'er draws the King of Hearts, she is asked to share a wish. She wishes for everything to go smoothly and for a swift completion of destiny's arrangement, privately hoping she can soon find her way back to her own time.
