Zhao Sen confronted Lu Jingran over the fake bag, and a physical altercation ensued. Song Xiu, who had been unable to reach Lu Jingran, rushed to the scene with Xu Jie. Song Xiu quickly intervened, urging them to talk things over to avoid administrative detention. He offered to waive the firm's legal fees and presented photos of Lu Jingran's struggling family, emphasizing that Lu Jingran had no assets, making legal enforcement impossible.

Song Xiu proposed a resolution: Lu Jingran would apologize to Zhao Sen and purchase a genuine bag for Zhao Sen's girlfriend from an official store upon returning to Australia. Lu Jingran tearfully apologized, and Zhao Sen, stating his pride was more important than the money, accepted the offer. Xu Jie was impressed by Song Xiu's exceptional mediation skills, despite the firm not earning any fees.

Later, Song Xiu joked that he'd been swept away by "momentary heroism," and Xu Jie praised him as both a "Legal Prince" and a "mediation expert." They debated whether people value "materialism" or "spirituality," with Xu Jie preferring the "lasting security" of material things, leading Song Xiu to humorously offer her gifts of various steamed buns. Xu Jie recommended Song Xiu to Director Li Gongming for a full-time position, highlighting his strong mediation abilities.

Director Li acknowledged Song Xiu's good character but felt he still needed more experience, noting that not everyone possesses Xu Jie's innate talent and drive. Xu Jie humbly clarified that her motivation stemmed from not wanting to lose, which Director Li considered a talent in itself. Feeling pressured by a new batch of lawyers and interns at Mingtang Law Firm, Song Xiu asked Xu Jie to help him find suitable cases to advance.

Later, Song Xiu met with a friend, a lawyer from Chengtai Law Firm, who remarked that Song Xiu would have been a full-fledged lawyer by now had he not pursued a master's degree. His friend complained about his ambitious new assistant, Chen Ke, who was overly eager to impress their boss, Director Huang. Song Xiu remained loyal to Director Li, declining his friend's offer to join Chengtai.

Regarding Chen Wenguang's case, Xu Jie informed Li Gongming that investigations were challenging due to numerous overseas accounts. She speculated that if Zhang Qinglan was not involved, Chen Wenguang’s estranged wife, Qian Qiuqing, might be the beneficiary, possibly driven by emotional revenge or property division, especially since Chen Wenguang had another family. Li Gongming instructed Xu Jie to keep him informed of any progress so he could decide his strategy.

Meanwhile, Qian Qiuqing met with Tian Mao, apologizing for the delayed payment of legal fees due to investment losses. She then asked him to convey a message to Chen Wenguang: their daughter, Chen Ran, now knew about Zhang Qinglan. Separately, Chen Ran received an anonymous package containing documents on Lianchuang Group, including creditor transaction contracts that bore her mother's signature.

Concerned by Xu Jie’s sudden departure, Song Xiu called her, only to be told she was attending a "joyful event" and didn't need to report her whereabouts. She had flown to another city for her mother's wedding. Despite her complicated feelings, Xu Jie wished her mother genuine happiness before leaving, declining her mother’s gesture of giving her the wedding bouquet.

Back in Jinghai, police arrested Wu Enping, a quality inspector at Four Seasons Pharmaceutical, at his home for alleged trade secret infringement. At the legal aid center, Zhou You, the legal director for Four Seasons, encountered Xiao He, who was covering Chen Ran's shift. Zhou You immediately called Director Tang, requesting that a lawyer from a different firm represent Wu Enping and that they quickly ascertain who Wu Enping leaked the company's secrets to by 7 AM the next morning.

This was crucial to minimize losses and ensure the Monday launch of a new drug was not affected. Director Tang called Chen Ran, who was at a family dinner seeing her husband, Jian Peiran, off before his trip to the Northeast. Expressing displeasure at Chen Ran asking Xiao He to cover her shift, Director Tang stressed that although assisting the complainant in a legal aid case was irregular, Four Seasons was a major client and they couldn't afford any mistakes.

Chen Ran reluctantly agreed to handle the case. As she hurried out, she asked Jian Peiran to take home the folder with the Lianchuang Group documents; he accidentally dropped it, revealing its contents to him. At the police station, Wu Enping refused to apply for legal aid, hire a lawyer, or disclose any information.

Chen Ran advised Xiao He that since he was not a Mingtang lawyer, there was no conflict of interest, and he should strive to secure Wu Enping's power of attorney. Shortly after, Xu Jie received a call from Director Li and headed to the legal aid center to assist Chen Ran.

Xiao He told Chen Ran and Xu Jie that he suspected Wu Enping was not a commercial spy, as a real spy would have been better prepared and wouldn't have been caught on surveillance, also noting Wu Enping's refusal to trust anyone. Xiao He hypothesized that Wu Enping was deliberately stalling until money from a potential transaction could be transferred on Monday. Their investigation revealed that on Friday night, Wu Enping arrived home two hours later than usual.

They pinpointed a large shopping mall between his workplace and home as a likely meeting point. Reviewing its surveillance footage, they noticed that Wu Enping's blue thermos was missing when he left the mall's south exit. Chen Ran and Xu Jie then visited Wu Enping's wife, Xu Chunyue, who initially insisted on her husband's innocence. They explained that his silence was detrimental and that an out-of-court settlement was possible if the leaked materials were recovered, potentially avoiding criminal charges.

Xu Chunyue eventually signed the power of attorney. While Chen Ran spoke with her, Xu Jie observed Wu Enping's study and found a photo of him with his university classmate and good friend, Zhao Chenfeng, a medical university teacher who frequently visited their home. However, Xu Chunyue did not know his address. Chen Ran theorized that Wu Enping was not a commercial spy, as Four Seasons Pharmaceutical primarily produced generic drugs whose formulas lacked significant commercial value.

Given Wu Enping's background as a French-educated PhD, stealing such formulas seemed illogical. She suggested the problem might lie within the company itself. Xu Jie reminded her to focus on their assigned task: finding the whereabouts of the stolen materials. Chen Ran then disclosed that she had anonymously received the documents on Lianchuang Group. Later, Jian Peiran called Chen Ran, expressing concern for her long work hours and assuring her that his phone would be on if she needed anything.
