After ensuring Pan Baohua departed safely with the evidence, Zhou Cheng arrived at the banquet to support Xia Xiaolan. Following the event, Du Zhengrong invited Xia Xiaolan for a private conversation, pledging to end his smuggling operations and foster legitimate business ties with the mainland.

Zhou Cheng reported the incident to the police, who immediately flagged the event as highly suspicious. When villagers from Ganquan Village arrived at the site to protest, Xia Xiaolan quickly identified the two agitators inciting the crowd. She instructed Zhou Cheng and Pan Baohua to watch them, then defused the tension by revealing that Luo Yaozong was still alive. Police investigators soon concluded that the accident was a staged setup.
Xia Xiaolan identified Ke Yixiong and Xia Ziyu as the primary suspects. Determined to expose the perpetrators, she and the police decided to proceed with the scheduled launch, hoping the saboteurs would reveal themselves if they attempted further interference.
