> Resumos de Ace Troops
The new recruits burst out, facing armed veterans bare-handed and creating a diversion. Gao Liang and Gu Yiye used the commotion to escape and rescue Jiang Nanzheng. The three quickly vanished into the night, heading to warn the main force of Division 234. However, they were ambushed by Army B along the way. Because Gao Liang was verbose and sly, Army B immediately tied him up. Gu Yiye and Jiang Nanzheng were left to watch.
As the Army B soldiers relaxed, Gao Liang quietly broke free. He then charged at Gu Yiye, hitting him, which distracted everyone. Seizing the moment, Gao Liang detonated a paper hand grenade. Although it was for an exercise, it still had some impact. The Army B veterans, seeing Gao Liang’s reckless stunt, let him go. Gao Liang, suffering from perforated eardrums and bleeding, dismissed his injuries. He grew visibly annoyed, believing Jiang Nanzheng was only concerned about Gu Yiye.
Gao Liang felt overshadowed by Gu Yiye, but refused to concede. He declared that he would surpass Gu Yiye, unfazed by his "children from army compound" background, asserting that the people always came first for the People's Army. Gu Yiye, recognizing Gao Liang’s frustration, patiently corrected his understanding of the People's Army, explaining that he joined the military for his country and its people, a conviction rooted in a battle four years prior.
Gu Yiye's words resonated with Gao Liang, shifting his perspective and softening his previous antagonism. Soon after, the trio encountered two Army B signalers stringing communication lines. After a quick struggle, they commandeered the signalers' sidecar motorcycle. Already wearing captured Army B uniforms, the trio encountered a team of Army B scouts. Their blue armbands helped them pass unrecognized.
As they approached A Army territory, Gu Yiye instructed Gao Liang and Jiang Nanzheng to remove their armbands to avoid being captured by their own forces after escaping the enemy. However, Gao Liang struggled with the motorcycle's rough ride and became severely nauseous. Gu Yiye decided they should continue on foot. Not long after abandoning the motorcycle, they encountered Division 234 of the A Army, led by Qin Hanyong.
Gu Yiye quickly explained their situation in five minutes, but Qin Hanyong remained suspicious due to Gu Yiye's unusual maturity and combat readiness for a new recruit. Qin Hanyong initially ordered the trio to be tied up. However, Gu Yiye’s calm demeanor reminded him of a deeply respected individual. While Qin Hanyong consulted with his staff, Gu Yiye and Gao Liang secretly escaped through the back, leaving only Jiang Nanzheng behind when the veterans returned.
Meanwhile, Division Commander Zheng Yuan was leading his main force when a landslide blocked their path. Despite the sapper battalion's efforts, repairs were slow. Zheng Yuan expressed his frustration, noting that the greatest obstacles were internal. He then ordered Leng Rui's Regiment 700 to abandon heavy weapons and, accompanying the Division Command, cross the Sanling Mountain lightly, rushing to Zhangmu Train Station.
He vowed that if they were to lose, they would do so fighting in the enemy's foxholes, not succumbing to internal complacency. Gao Liang and Gu Yiye next met Zhao Song from Regiment 720. Gao Liang, without hesitation, shared crucial intelligence with him, despite Gu Yiye's failed attempts to stop him. When Army B scouts suddenly appeared, Gao Liang and Gu Yiye quickly helped the injured Zhao Song and fled.
Unbeknownst to them, Zhao Song covertly dropped a dagger, identifying him as Army B, and left a trail of markers. After evading the pursuers, Gao Liang took a break to ask Zhao Song about Division Commander Zheng Yuan. Zhao Song recounted Zheng Yuan's illustrious past as part of a military assistance delegation for defense diplomacy, even engaging with the U. S. military. He still carried a bullet fragment that ached with changing weather.
Gu Yiye deduced it was a 9-mm Parabellum pistol cartridge, a name derived from the Latin proverb "If you want peace, prepare for war." He Zhigeng had assembled a reconnaissance team of elite soldiers, whom Zheng Yuan tested with difficult challenges. Among them was Xia Lin, a top performer who had earned first place in shooting and cross-country in previous military competitions. However, he was disqualified from subsequent events after accidentally injuring the assassination champion.
Zheng Yuan, impressed by Xia Lin's capabilities, assigned him a mission: to lead a squad to scout Zhangmu Train Station before midnight and fire a red flare if enemy activity was detected. Upon arriving, Xia Lin discovered the station was ambushed. As he fought off Army B soldiers, he tried to fire his flare, but it was a dud. Concurrently, Gao Liang, Gu Yiye, and Zhao Song traversed a slope.
Zhao Song lost his footing and slid down, with Gao Liang falling after him during an attempted rescue. A flare gun dropped from Zhao Song. Gao Liang quickly grabbed it and was examining it when Army B scouts, having followed Zhao Song's trail, arrived. In a panic, Gao Liang fired the flare and fled. Zheng Yuan, observing from a nearby mountain, saw the red flare and mistakenly believed it was Xia Lin reporting enemy activity.
Relieved, he instructed He Zhigeng to credit the Reconnaissance Company. However, just as Gu Yiye and Gao Liang reached a safe area, they were captured by Army B scouts. The man who had been posing as Zhao Song was revealed to be Li Shaobing, Army B's reconnaissance staff officer. Subsequently, Li Shaobing reported his findings to Division Commander Meng Zhongchi, who was already refining his strategic plans. Zheng Yuan concluded that they had missed their chance to ambush at Hongshikou.
Their only remaining option was to take the Mabang trail, cross Mt. Dawei, and ford the Xiaonan river to strike South Town before dawn. Unbeknownst to him, this very plan mirrored Meng Zhongchi's thinking, who anticipated Zheng Yuan's reliance on his division's legendary "Iron Hiker" capability. Meanwhile, Jiang Nanzheng, having been returned, expressed regret that their crucial intelligence had not reached their command. She explained that they had fallen into the trap of a cunning reconnaissance staff officer. She then received treatment for her injuries.
