At Tianyong City, Lingyue reassures the Head Reverend that he trusts Tusu regarding Zhao Lin's death. He requests time to investigate the matter thoroughly, offering to bear the consequences himself if he fails to uncover the truth. The Head Reverend agrees and assigns him the task, hoping for a clear explanation to the disciples. Fu Qu brings Qingxue and Lingyue to the place where Tusu was previously confined, recounting the events surrounding his situation.

Lingyue expresses concern about Tusu's inability to control the evil aura of Burning Solitude while Tusu is currently "outside" the city. Qingxue offers to find Tusu, asserting her ability to sense the direction of the Burning Solitude sword. Lingyue entrusts her with the task, urging her to find Tusu. Meanwhile, Fang Lansheng returns home in a hurry, instructing his servants to change his clothes, hoping to conceal evidence of his recent mischief.

He had caused chaos in the marketplace while attempting to "fly with a sword" on a washboard, leading a crowd of irate merchants to his family home demanding compensation. His capable second sister gracefully handles the situation, appeasing the merchants who leave satisfied. Discovering Lansheng hiding, she calls him out, intending to scold him. However, seeing his injuries, she softens and treats his wounds.

She chastises him for his irresponsible behavior, to which Lansheng recounts his encounter with Tusu earlier that day. His sister dismisses his tales of immortals and instructs him to help with distributing porridge at their gate. Lansheng, eager to eat first, pleads with her, and she reluctantly allows the servants to bring him food. Tusu, now alone with Ah Xiang, travels to Qin River in search of Shaogong, recalling Shaogong's earlier mention of returning home.

Upon arrival, he visits a tea stall to inquire about Shaogong's whereabouts. The tea stall owner, Tea Xiaoguai, a self-proclaimed knowledgeable person, offers information for a fee. Unfamiliar with money, Tusu turns to leave, but Tea Xiaoguai, intrigued, stops him and freely provides Shaogong's address. Other tea guests are puzzled by Tea Xiaoguai's generosity, but he expresses confidence that Tusu will not default on his debt.

Lansheng's second sister scolds him about his eating habits and reminds him that Shaogong's parents' death anniversary is approaching, instructing him to clean Shaogong's residence. That night, Tusu, having arrived in Qin River, secretly enters Shaogong's abandoned house and finds a place to rest, thinking of Lingyue. The next morning, Lansheng arrives with servants to clean the house and finds Tusu resting there.

Lansheng, believing Tusu is a sword immortal, invites him to his home, offering food and lodging in exchange for teaching him spells. His dog, Wangcai, mistakes Tusu for a thief and tries to alert the officials. Tusu, with a quick move, repels the crowd and flies away, leaving Lansheng awestruck. Tusu, wandering through the streets and feeling famished, observes people using money to buy food. Unaware of its concept, he asks a bun vendor what money is.

The vendor, realizing Tusu has no money, directs him to the Fang family's porridge distribution. Tusu joins the queue, consumes one bowl, and takes another. The Fang family's second sister approaches him, and upon learning he is in Qin River searching for a friend without success, she offers him a position as a helper in their household, providing him with food and lodging.

Upon returning home, Lansheng overhears maids discussing the new male helper, speculating about his intentions towards his second sister. He sets out to confront the newcomer, only to discover it's Tusu, exclaiming at their unexpected reunion. His sister questions him about the state of Shaogong's house, implicitly for cleaning, to which Lansheng dismisses her concern, advising her not to dwell on Shaogong.

He then inquires about her decision to house Tusu, and she instructs him to treat Tusu with respect, not as a mere servant. Lansheng playfully suggests that Tusu might become his future brother-in-law, earning a sharp rebuke from his sister, who then sends him to bed. Lansheng, accompanied by his dog Wangcai, stealthily observes Tusu.

Retrieving a washboard, he attempts to harness the spiritual energy of a jade pendant he possesses, intending to impress Tusu with his "sword-flying" skills and secure himself as Tusu's disciple. He clumsily "flies" on the washboard towards Tusu, showing off. Tusu, bewildered, watches him. At that moment, his second sister appears, catching Lansheng in the act. Enraged, she grabs his ear and pulls him away. Lansheng continues to persistently bother Tusu, attempting to curry favor, but Tusu remains unresponsive.

Driven to desperation, Lansheng accuses Tusu of being unkind and implores him to teach him even a single spell. Tusu, losing patience, bluntly tells Lansheng that he lacks the necessary aptitude for immortal cultivation, inadvertently mentioning "Tianyong City." Thrilled to discover Tusu is a disciple of Tianyong City, Lansheng rushes to his sister, pleading for permission to pursue immortal cultivation. She vehemently refuses, leading to a heated argument between the siblings, during which Shaogong's name is mentioned.

Tusu, entering to deliver something, overhears their conversation about Shaogong and quietly withdraws. Still met with his sister's refusal, Lansheng angrily storms away. Lansheng later finds Tusu waiting, mistakenly believing Tusu has changed his mind and is willing to accept him as a disciple. Tusu clarifies his denial and instead asks for information about Shaogong.

Lansheng reveals that Shaogong is his childhood friend and recently sent a letter, but he offers to share the information only if Tusu agrees to teach him some spells. Tusu, needing to find Shaogong, accepts the condition. Tusu begins teaching Lansheng the fundamental Star Constellation Technique, instructing him to meditate for three hours. When Tusu returns, he finds Lansheng dozing off, who then accuses Tusu of being a fraud.

Tusu patiently explains that the technique requires persistent effort to show results. Lansheng, desiring to witness his own "glowing" Star Constellation, is then advised by Tusu to use the jade pendant he wears. Tusu explains that the pendant is imbued with spiritual energy, allowing Lansheng to perceive his Star Constellation by drawing upon its power. Lansheng complies and sees his Star Constellation, which Tusu identifies as a "Bixie Lion," encouraging him to continue his practice.

Tusu then presses Lansheng for the promised information about Shaogong, but Lansheng becomes evasive. Realizing Lansheng has been deceptive, Tusu leaves in frustration. Ouyang Shaogong and Yin Qianshang have been unsuccessful in their search for Yu Heng. Yin Qianshang blames himself, but Shaogong reassures him, mentioning his long-standing intention to leave Qingyu Altar. Yin Qianshang, who plans to fulfill a friend's appointment and continue searching for Yu Heng in Jiangdu, suggests Shaogong join him due to concerns about Lei Yan.

Ji Tong, however, advises Shaogong to return to his hometown, Qin River, a suggestion Yin Qianshang also supports. Shaogong decides to head for Qin River. Shaogong then travels with Ji Tong to his hometown, Qin River. As Ji Tong rests in a pavilion, Shaogong walks off alone, lost in thought, remembering Xun Fang. Hearing unusual zither music, he leaves Ji Tong to investigate. He finds a courtyard where two young women are playing a zither and preparing tea.

Shaogong enters, complimenting the music. The red-clad woman invites him for tea but attempts to harm him. Shaogong defends himself, and Ji Tong rushes in, shielding him from an attack. Enraged, Shaogong unleashes a burst of power, transforming the two women into their original demon forms. In the aftermath, he unexpectedly discovers the long-sought Yu Heng. With Ji Tong's poor health, Shaogong decides they should rest for a few days in the nearby cottage before continuing their journey.

Back at Tianyong City, Lingyue and Fu Qu stand at the mountain gate. Lingyue recalls his past promise to Tusu and expresses concern for Tusu's safety while he is outside. Fu Qu reassures him, believing Qingxue will surely find Tusu. Meanwhile, Qingxue uses spirit butterflies to track the Sword of Burning Solitude, but the sword's scabbard now conceals its aura, making it undetectable.

Recalling that Tusu had once sought out Shaogong, Qingxue deduces that Tusu might be heading to Qin River and sets off to find him there. Lansheng continues his persistent attempts to learn cultivation from Tusu, and in one instance, accidentally tugs on the Sword of Burning Solitude strapped to Tusu's back. Tusu pushes him away, causing Lansheng to stomp off angrily with Wangcai. Tusu then spots Lansheng's jade pendant, picks it up intending to return it.

At that moment, a maid summons him to the second sister. The second sister offers Tusu a large sum of money, explaining it's his wages and expressing her wish that Lansheng not become engrossed in immortal cultivation. Tusu, however, refuses to take any money, stating he would not complicate a friend's situation, and departs. Tusu returns to his room and packs his belongings. He picks up the jade pendant, still intending to return it to Lansheng.

Suddenly, a group of servants burst in, accusing him of stealing Lansheng's jade pendant. Lansheng rushes in, trying to intervene and diffuse the situation, wanting to drop the accusation. However, the servants are adamant, convinced Tusu is guilty. The injustice, reminiscent of his wrongful accusation at Tianyong City, fuels Tusu's anger. Constable Wu arrives, and Wangcai, barking, inadvertently points to Tusu.

Lansheng attempts to defend Tusu, but Tusu, his temper flaring, simply states he is not a thief and abruptly leaves. Lansheng hurries after him. As Tusu walks along the street, the evil aura within him unexpectedly stirs. He looks up to see it is the night of the full moon, a time when the aura is particularly potent. He quickly seeks a secluded spot to sit and meditate, hoping to suppress the surging power. However, his efforts are continually disrupted by the raw emotions of injustice he feels from the recent accusations.
