Lu Qiyi misinterpreted Wang Hai's audition time, believing it was noon instead of midnight. She arrived at the Mei Qiu Fino Hotel, room 1805, at 12 PM, only to find the room empty. Realizing her mistake, she left, wandering dejectedly through the streets. Almost hit by a car, she was pulled to safety by Fang Yan. He asked about her audition, expressing concern about a midnight meeting and advising her not to go.
He offered to accompany her if the audition was indeed scheduled for 12 AM. Unbeknownst to them, paparazzi secretly photographed Fang Yan during their conversation. Meanwhile, Hao Kaixin confided in Lu Qiyi, frustrated with Li Sanshang, who had skipped the audition for an elementary school trainee teacher position. As he became intoxicated, Wang Hai drunkenly confessed to Lu Qiyi that he was behind the false accusations of Su Wen abandoning his wife and child, boasting about how he used manipulative tactics to get ahead in the entertainment industry. Lu Qiyi secretly recorded his confession on her phone.
Unable to reach Lu Qiyi by phone, Fang Yan contacted Hao Kaixin, who informed him that Lu Qiyi had gone out with Wang Hai to a party at the Golden Jade Bar, reportedly with industry big shots. Alarmed, Fang Yan rushed to find her.
