Hao Kaixin, recalling Lu Qiyi's previous feelings for Zhang Yang and dislike for Fang Yan, pressed her to clarify her feelings.
Hao Kaixin then revealed that Du Ang had spent an entire day decorating an old iron gate and even hired a band to surprise Lu Qiyi with a grand confession. However, Du Ang saw Lu Qiyi and Fang Yan walking hand in hand, which led him to abandon his plan.
After hearing Lu Qiyi affirm that Fang Yan was the one she truly liked, Hao Kaixin advised her against confronting Du Ang directly, explaining it would only cause him further embarrassment since Lu Qiyi had never given him any indication of romantic interest. Sun Zhuowen downplayed the conversation, stating they "just talked briefly" due to their long acquaintance and mutual understanding. Ms. Tang then directly questioned him, asking if a relationship that ended seven years ago could ever be rekindled. He then feigned ignorance when she asked if he truly didn't know what was bothering her. Later, a visibly drunk Ms. Tang stumbled out of the room, requiring Sun Zhuowen's assistance to navigate, despite her playful resistance. Meanwhile, for the end-term show, Li Sanshang had initially tried to recruit Du Ang to their group.
Du Ang, still hurt by seeing Lu Qiyi and Fang Yan together, had initially declined, stating he was joining Uzhda's team and refusing to talk to Fang Yan. However, Uzhda was frustrated by Du Ang's clinginess and refused to accompany him everywhere. Ultimately, Du Ang found himself without a team. Li Sanshang, undeterred, found Du Ang and physically pulled him into his and Lu Qiyi's four-person group for the end-term show, despite Du Ang's protests.
