The Little Target Drama Club began to flourish with the guidance of Mr. Sun. After a productive training session with the club members, Fang Yan prepared to go thank Mr. Sun. On his way, he encountered Bai Qiao, who had come to find him. Bai Qiao once again confessed her feelings for Fang Yan, but he coldly rejected her, explaining that he already had someone he liked. After parting ways with Bai Qiao, Fang Yan headed to Mr. Sun’s office.

He unexpectedly overheard Ms. Tang attempting to persuade Mr. Sun to resume directing. Mr. Sun, however, remained resolute in his refusal. Ms. Tang, unsuccessful in her efforts, left the office and ran into Fang Yan at the door. She stopped him and shared some details about Mr. Sun’s past. Meanwhile, Lu Qiyi faced a predicament. She had missed an exam to secure a recording from Huang Bo and had intended to take a make-up exam.

However, she learned about a new college regulation for the current semester: any student who missed an exam would automatically receive an F, with no opportunity for a make-up. Frustrated, Lu Qiyi approached the Dean, hoping to find an alternative. The Dean explained that the new rule was enforced because many seniors had skipped exams for filming, angering him.

He eventually told her that if she could successfully convince Mr. Sun to return to directing, he would personally arrange her application for a make-up exam. Both the Dean and Li Xun entrusted Lu Qiyi with the significant task of persuading Mr. Sun, placing considerable pressure on her. Lu Qiyi contacted Li Xun, eager to understand why Mr. Sun remained so stubborn despite various attempts to sway him.

Li Xun revealed that Mr. Sun had emerged as a promising new director, achieving immediate success with his debut film. Many investors sought him out, but he patiently waited for a project he truly wanted to direct. For this film, he specifically cast his junior, a rising star, as the male lead. However, during the filming, an unforeseen accident occurred involving his junior, which became a lifelong burden for Mr. Sun.

Armed with an address provided by Li Xun, Lu Qiyi set out to find Mr. Sun’s junior, Lu Tao. Along the way, she met Fang Yan, who had also obtained the address from Ms. Tang. Despite some initial bickering about who was following whom, they realized they were headed to the same destination. Together, they found Lu Tao, who then recounted the tragic events of that year.

During the filming, Lu Tao had fallen from a significant height, resulting in a lifelong disability that prematurely ended his acting career. Mr. Sun, consumed by guilt, blamed himself for the accident and subsequently withdrew from the entertainment industry. Concurrently, Mr. Sun and Ms. Tang met for a meal at the Old Village Gin Joint. Ms. Tang, who was actually a regular at the establishment, subtly cued Mr. Fu, the owner, to pretend they were meeting for the first time.

Mr. Sun introduced them and ordered “the usual three” drinks, explaining the unique way to appreciate the local liquor. He drew a parallel between movies and drinks, both capable of intoxicating people, and quoted a line from "Casablanca". Their conversation was interrupted when Mr. Sun received a frantic phone call from Lu Qiyi, who claimed Fang Yan was in trouble. Mr. Sun and Ms. Tang immediately rushed to the location.

To Mr. Sun’s astonishment, he discovered that Lu Qiyi and Fang Yan had orchestrated a re-enactment of Lu Tao’s accident, intending to help him confront and release his emotional burden. Furious, Mr. Sun accused them of not understanding the pain he carried, questioning their right to persuade him, whom he considered a sinner, to direct again. Just then, Lu Tao arrived.

He addressed Mr. Sun as "brother" and assured him that he had long since come to terms with the past and never blamed him for the accident. Lu Tao reminded Mr. Sun of their shared dream and unwavering dedication to art, urging him not to sacrifice his passion and dreams for a past he had already moved beyond. When Mr. Sun still hesitated, Lu Tao, from his wheelchair, dramatically offered to "stand up" and beg him.

Witnessing Lu Tao’s determined struggle to rise, Mr. Sun, overcome with emotion, finally relented and agreed to take on Li Xun's new project, "Jujiu". Following this emotional breakthrough, Lu Qiyi and Fang Yan’s relationship deepened. As they walked hand-in-hand across campus, they were spotted by Du Ang. Du Ang had meticulously spent the entire day preparing an elaborate confession to Lu Qiyi at the iron gate where they first met.

Seeing Lu Qiyi and Fang Yan together, his heart sank, and he abandoned his plans for a confession. Du Ang was not the only one experiencing heartbreak that day. Hao Kaixin and Li Sanshang visited the school infirmary to have her leg bandage removed. In front of Jiang Xiaoyu, Hao Kaixin jokingly claimed that she and Li Sanshang were a couple, praising his care. Jiang Xiaoyu, visibly disheartened, offered her congratulations before leaving.

Outside, she encountered Ma Xiangyu, who relentlessly pursued her. Jiang Xiaoyu, however, formally rejected his advances. Meanwhile, after her rejection by Fang Yan, Bai Qiao turned to Li Xiao. Distraught, she drank heavily, and Li Xiao found her, offering comfort and suggesting she take a shower. In her vulnerability, Bai Qiao finally began to consider accepting Li Xiao’s feelings.
