Late at night, as Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi were watching a horror movie, the doorbell rang. Gu Weiyi, armed with a kitchen knife, told Situ Mo to stay back, insisting that he would open the door as girls shouldn't answer late-night calls. To their surprise, it was Fu Pei. Fu Pei quietly asked to speak with Situ Mo, and she quickly followed him out. Situ Mo recounted the conversation to Gu Weiyi upon her return.

Fu Pei had confessed his desire to be with her, but Situ Mo rejected him. When Fu Pei questioned why her feelings had changed and if he was merely disposable, Situ Mo, through tears, explained that her affection hadn't vanished suddenly.

She detailed how his repeated escapes from commitment, such as denying their relationship to Xu Jie Yin, letting go of her hand on the school bridge, and failing to show up when promised, had gradually made her realize his lack of sincere intention to be with her.

She also mentioned that when she saw him with Wang Shan, she finally understood that her sadness was no longer due to him, but rather the realization that she had truly stopped loving him. As Situ Mo prepared to leave to buy medicine for Fu Pei, he suddenly embraced her, pleading for another chance, but Situ Mo reiterated that she genuinely no longer liked him and hurried back home.

When Gu Weiyi asked what happened next, Situ Mo sheepishly admitted they had a fight, clarifying that she was the one who hit him because he kept rambling after her rejection. Gu Weiyi couldn't hide a small smile, retreating to his room to quietly revel in the news. Meanwhile, a dejected Fu Pei walked back to his dormitory. Wang Shan, who had been waiting for him, noticed his injuries and tenderly offered to clean them.

Fu Pei confessed that Situ Mo had rejected his feelings, lamenting that he might be unlovable. Wang Shan, also disheartened, admitted her own feelings for him and promised to wait for him. Fu Pei, feeling unworthy, described himself as timid and fickle, and confused about his current feelings for Situ Mo. However, Wang Shan countered that she didn't see him as timid, recalling his bravery when he saved her at a food stall.

She also believed he was not fickle, as he had only ever truly cared for Situ Mo. She concluded by confidently asserting that she was a perfect match for him. Wang Shan then added that he shouldn't take her words too seriously, but assured him she would continue to be there for him in the coming days.

At her internship company, Situ Mo participated in a meeting where she presented innovative ideas for an insurance company, suggesting advertising concepts that highlight unexpected accidents or the impact on children, or even focusing on the financial benefits of insurance. During the meeting, she received a notification reminding her about the looming graduation thesis deadline. She quickly called Wang Shan, who confirmed the urgency and hinted at something important she wanted to discuss.

Situ Mo requested leave to submit her thesis, which her supervisor granted but with a caution about taking too many days off, comparing her to Xu Jie Yin, who rarely took such leaves. Later, at the university's printing room, Situ Mo and Wang Shan met Gu Weiyi and Xie Yu Yin. Xie Yu Yin directly asked Gu Weiyi if Situ Mo was his girlfriend, to which Gu Weiyi promptly replied, "How did you know?"

Situ Mo, flustered, quickly clarified that they were merely friends. This exchange visibly pleased Xie Yu Yin but annoyed Gu Weiyi, who then made a point of standing closer to Xie Yu Yin while printing, sparking a hint of jealousy in Situ Mo. As Situ Mo and Wang Shan walked back to their dorm, Wang Shan shared that she had confessed to Fu Pei, but he had rejected her, citing his inability to refuse people.

Despite this, Wang Shan vowed not to give up on him. Situ Mo expressed relief that Fu Pei was no longer her problem, and the two friends reconciled their past differences. Back in their room, they found Meng Lu frantically working on her thesis. Meng Lu tried to convince Situ Mo to let her stay at Situ Mo's apartment to escape the stress of the dorm, but Situ Mo firmly refused.

Soon after, Gu Weiyi called Situ Mo, informing her that his mother had arrived and wanted to treat her to dinner. Despite her apprehension about meeting elders, Situ Mo reluctantly agreed and met Gu Weiyi downstairs. At the restaurant, Situ Mo was visibly nervous. Gu Weiyi's mother greeted her warmly, noting Situ Mo's resemblance to Situ Mo's mother. During dinner, Gu Weiyi’s mother ordered mantis prawns, Gu Weiyi’s supposed favorite.

Situ Mo interjected, reminding Gu Weiyi that he was allergic to them. He quickly confirmed this, hinting that his mother had not been a consistent presence in his childhood. After dinner, Gu Weiyi subtly arranged a taxi for his mother, preventing her suggestion of having tea by reminding her that she would get insomnia if she drank tea at night.

As they walked home, Situ Mo, impressed by Gu Weiyi's handling of his mother, asked for tips on how to "manage" her own talkative and overly enthusiastic mother. Gu Weiyi, misunderstanding her intent as curiosity about his family life, gave a terse, unhelpful reply. Later, Meng Lu, while busy planning her Double 11 Carnival purchases, remembered that Situ Mo's birthday was approaching and decided to buy her a gift.

The following Saturday morning, Situ Mo anticipated a quiet breakfast with Gu Weiyi, but her roommates arrived unannounced, intending to celebrate her birthday. Situ Mo was initially worried that Gu Weiyi would be displeased by the crowd, but he graciously welcomed everyone, telling her to consider their presence his birthday gift to her. Meng Lu insisted on decorating the walls with balloons, despite Situ Mo’s concerns about leaving marks.

Gu Weiyi, however, calmly used static electricity to make the balloons stick without damage. After the decorations were complete, everyone gathered to play games and celebrate Situ Mo’s birthday with cake. During one game, Situ Mo was challenged to maintain eye contact with someone wearing the same color clothing for twenty seconds. Since Gu Weiyi was the only one wearing a similar yellow shirt, they faced each other, becoming completely absorbed in each other's gaze. In the next round, Gu Weiyi was framed and received a punishment to take a selfie with someone he liked using his phone.
