Gu Weiyi and Fu Pei found themselves collecting shells for Situ Mo at the beach, their paths subtly crossing. When they both presented their shells to her, Situ Mo felt awkward. She opted not to accept either, instead turning to Meng Lu and remarking on the scene's strange familiarity, comparing it to a cat bringing its owner dead prey like cockroaches or mice.
That evening, as everyone enjoyed a barbecue and music from Meng Lu's boyfriend, Ak, Gu Weiyi noticed Fu Pei’s persistent gaze towards Situ Mo. He approached Fu Pei, asking directly about his relationship with Wang Shan and stating the information was crucial to him. He declared that if Fu Pei was with Wang Shan, he intended to pursue Situ Mo.
Fu Pei, taken aback, then spotted Situ Mo secretly eating a grilled sausage and questioned Gu Weiyi, asking if a girl who stole a sausage was truly "worthy" of such a pursuit. Gu Weiyi confidently affirmed that she was. This surprising answer caused Fu Pei to burn his hand on the grill, and he walked away looking dejected. Situ Mo prompted Wang Shan to check on him. Wang Shan attended to Fu Pei’s burn, carefully cleaning and applying medicine.
Fu Pei asked Wang Shan if she liked him. She immediately denied it, calling him conceited and admitting she only wanted him to treat her to a meal, having heard from Situ Mo that he was generous. As an apology, she challenged him to pass his CET-4 exam. Later, Fu Pei sought Wang Shan’s advice on confessing feelings to someone he had long admired but feared losing.
Wang Shan urged him to confess soon, adding that even if rejected, he could "end it smartly and start a new relationship." Fu Pei was surprised by her perspective. Later that night, Gu Weiyi announced the need to move their tents away from the rising tide and strong winds, and anchor them properly. He asked Situ Mo to help him pull.
Situ Mo cautioned him to be careful to prevent her from falling, to which he playfully retorted that she could just "get up again." When it came time to drive in the tent pegs, Situ Mo asked for a hammer, but Gu Weiyi comically suggested using "internal strength." Situ Mo dismissed the joke, and Gu Weiyi recalled Meng Lu's high heels from earlier, proposing they use one.
Situ Mo then carefully used a heel to hammer the tent peg while Gu Weiyi watched with amusement. Lying down, Gu Weiyi, looking at his phone, noticed Situ Mo outside taking selfies. He joined her, and they chatted. Situ Mo soon mentioned she was starving. Gu Weiyi took her to the beach, where they successfully caught crabs and mantis prawns. With no fire left, Gu Weiyi, feigning interest in primitive fire-starting, eventually found a portable fire starter.
As Situ Mo savored the roasted seafood, she wished for salt. Gu Weiyi responded by sprinkling seawater on it, then explained the scientific basis for its edibility, detailing the average salinity of seawater and the high temperature of the open fire. Impressed by his scientific resourcefulness, Situ Mo affectionately called him her "Doraemon" for fulfilling her wish. Gu Weiyi offered her the sole mantis prawn, but Situ Mo claimed an allergy and likened it to a "giant cockroach."
Gu Weiyi teasingly called her "sour grapes" and threatened to discard it, prompting her to quickly accept it. The following morning, the group departed in two cars. Situ Mo, Gu Weiyi, Fu Pei, and Wang Shan shared one. With Fu Pei's hand injured, Gu Weiyi took over driving, and Situ Mo navigated from the passenger seat.
From the back, Fu Pei observed Gu Weiyi thoughtfully adjusting the sunshade for a sleeping Situ Mo and lowering the car stereo volume, clearly feeling a sense of unease. Upon returning home, Gu Weiyi pointed out the robot vacuum, telling Situ Mo that "someone is waiting for you." Situ Mo initially thought her mother had arrived but then disdainfully suggested Gu Weiyi name the robot.
He found it a good idea and, after some thought, suggested "Circle," which Situ Mo quietly dismissed as she left the room, though Gu Weiyi found the name fitting. Situ Mo reported for her new internship, meeting her supervisor and then Li Na, who showed her to her desk. Li Na instructed Situ Mo to retrieve a roll-up banner from downstairs. While carrying the banner, Situ Mo accidentally bumped into her high school classmate, Xu Jie Er.
Situ Mo guided Xu Jie Er to the supervisor's office, where she noticed the supervisor's unusually warm reception towards Xu Jie Er. Meanwhile, at the new campus, Gu Weiyi began his experiments. Professor Jiang advised Xie Yu Yin to prioritize her master's thesis over the experiment. Xie Yu Yin, however, insisted on participating, confidently claiming she could complete a challenging calculation in a day, a feat the professor doubted. Gu Weiyi offered to assist her with the calculations.
After work, as Situ Mo exited her company building, she was met by Fu Pei, who was holding a flower and attempting to apologize. She found his behavior strange and tried to avoid him. At that moment, Xu Jie Er appeared and asked if Situ Mo and Fu Pei were "still together." Situ Mo promptly denied it and used the interaction as an opportunity to leave.
Back at home, Situ Mo received a package and called her mother to inquire about its contents. Her mother explained she had sent "sauced beef" for Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi to enjoy with their meals. Situ Mo playfully complained about having to care for Gu Weiyi and jokingly questioned if she was her mother's biological daughter. Gu Weiyi remained at the lab late into the night, assisting Xie Yu Yin with data verification.
Situ Mo, waiting for him, called to ask why he wasn't home. Gu Weiyi informed her he was staying at the lab, which annoyed Situ Mo. She then tripped over the robot vacuum and, in frustration, demanded of it, "Circle, your dad is not coming back, don't you care?" The next morning, Situ Mo found Gu Weiyi still hadn't returned. Gu Weiyi had worked tirelessly through the night, completing the data calculations by dawn.
Professor Jiang, finding the results difficult to believe, asked Gu Weiyi to help verify them. Gu Weiyi, groggy from lack of sleep, didn't respond immediately, prompting the professor to scold him for his attitude. Xie Yu Yin then confessed that Gu Weiyi had performed most of the calculations. Zhou Lei scoffed at the idea, challenging Gu Weiyi to prove it on the spot. Gu Weiyi proceeded to demonstrate the calculations successfully.
The professor ultimately allowed Xie Yu Yin to join the experiment. Exhausted, Gu Weiyi requested to go home to sleep, leaving Zhou Lei once again frustrated. Later, returning home from work, Situ Mo collapsed onto the sofa, pondering Gu Weiyi's absence. She called him again, only to discover he was already in his room, which made her smile in relief. Meanwhile, Fu Pei's father hosted him and his assistant at a restaurant. Fu Pei openly disagreed with his father's actions.
Outside the restaurant, his father slapped him, sternly lecturing him that his mother's return was driven by money, not affection. Fu Pei, tears welling in his eyes, retorted against his father's accusations. Situ Mo heard Gu Weiyi enter his room and found him in a deep sleep. In an uncharacteristic moment, she checked his breathing, momentarily fearing he had died. Later that evening, they watched a horror film.
Situ Mo, frightened, ate large amounts of the sauced beef and asked Gu Weiyi to slice more. When the doorbell suddenly rang, Situ Mo was startled. Gu Weiyi, assuring her that a girl shouldn't open the door late at night, went to answer it himself.
