Resumen del episodio 18 de My Destiny
> Resúmenes de My Destiny
On New Year's Eve, Fang Wanzhi reached out to Gao Xiang with a last-minute request. Her relative, Yang Hui, had been unable to locate her niece, Zhao Jun, during a layover in Shenzhen. Since Zhao Jun was attending night school, Fang Wanzhi hoped Gao Xiang could use his connections there to find her. Gao Xiang noted that Zhao Jun had recently earned her vocational degree and was working hard at a demanding new job he had recommended.
Despite the short notice, he agreed to help, though he jokingly reminded Fang Wanzhi not to stand him up as she had done before. Fang Wanzhi, feeling apologetic, invited him to join them for the New Year's Eve dinner if he succeeded. While waiting at home for her guests, Fang Wanzhi was surprised by an unexpected visitor. Her father, Meng Siyuan, arrived at her door, having finished his duties as the director of the Jing River Bridge project.
He brought a variety of local delicacies prepared by Grandma Yu, including the specific pickles and chili sauce Fang Wanzhi had loved since childhood. He explained that Grandma Yu had moved to the countryside with her daughter due to her age. Overwhelmed by his presence and the memories of the past three years she had spent alone in Shenzhen, Fang Wanzhi finally addressed him as "Dad," a gesture that signaled the healing of their long-standing rift.
As they sat down to eat, Gao Xiang arrived, explaining that while he hadn't seen Zhao Jun personally, he had left messages for her through several leads. Meng Siyuan warmly invited Gao Xiang to join them, offering him some specialized liquor he brought from Guizhou. The two men quickly found common ground, discussing "Shenzhen Speed" and the development of the Special Economic Zone.
Later, during a local tradition of exchanging red packets with neighbors and children, Fang Wanzhi spotted Zhao Jun outside. Zhao Jun admitted she had been working through the holiday for the extra pay and had hesitated to visit, not wanting to be a burden. Fang Wanzhi embraced her, insisting she join the family dinner. The night ended with a full table, as they celebrated a new beginning together. The festive mood was short-lived.
Shortly after the holiday, as Fang Wanzhi went to meet Li Juan at the station, she received an urgent call from Gao Xiang. He had heard rumors that Huang Yaodong’s factory was in serious trouble. Though Fang Wanzhi initially hoped it was just a misunderstanding, Zhao Jun arrived the next morning with devastating news: Huang Yaodong had fled, taking a massive amount of money with him and leaving numerous creditors in his wake.
Fang Wanzhi realized she had been scammed, a situation made worse by the three million RMB loan she had taken from the bank. In the wake of the crisis, Zhao Jun moved in with Fang Wanzhi to offer her support. She presented Fang Wanzhi with 13,000 RMB—all of her savings—as repayment for a small loan Fang Wanzhi had given her long ago.
Fang Wanzhi tried to refuse, knowing how hard the girl had worked for the money, but Zhao Jun insisted, explaining that while she once kept her distance to avoid being a "poor relative," she now wanted to stand by her family in their time of need. Gao Xiang also stepped up, arranging a dinner with Director Xu from the bank.
During the meal, Fang Wanzhi was surprised to learn that Gao Xiang held a postgraduate degree and was highly respected by his former classmates. Thanks to Gao Xiang's mediation and Director Xu’s willingness to help, Fang Wanzhi was given a chance to repay the loan over time rather than facing immediate legal action. Determined to recover, Fang Wanzhi and Li Juan refused to give up.
They decided to leverage the sales network they had built across ten cities and began seeking agency rights for other established clothing brands. Over the next six months of grueling work, they managed to pay back one million RMB of the principal along with three million in interest. Their resilience earned them the deep respect of those around them, including Gao Xiang. As the third anniversary of her mother's passing approached, Fang Wanzhi returned to Yu County.
At the grave, she found fresh offerings and correctly guessed that Yudan had visited. She soon learned that Yudan had been released early for good behavior after completing his undergraduate degree in prison and was now pursuing a master's degree in economics. When they finally met, Yudan confessed that his feelings for her had only grown, admitting that if they weren't like family, he would have pursued her long ago.
Fang Wanzhi gently reaffirmed that family was the most important thing to her, leading Yudan to accept her decision with grace. Reflecting on the year, Fang Wanzhi realized that her "animal year" had brought a destined trial, but with the support of her loved ones, she had finally moved past the hardships.
