Resumen del episodio 12 de My Destiny
> Resúmenes de My Destiny
Xu A'nan’s promotion to assistant line leader only intensifies her resentment toward Fang Wanzhi and Li Juan. Knowing the two are inseparable, A'nan schemes to frame Li Juan, believing that getting her fired will force Wanzhi to leave as well. Wanzhi happens to overhear A'nan discussing this plan with her friends and begins keeping a close watch. Her suspicions are confirmed when she witnesses A'nan deliberately sabotaging Li Juan’s work by cutting the threads on finished pants.
When A'nan attempts to dock Li Juan’s pay and threatens her with dismissal, Wanzhi intervenes, revealing the scissors A'nan used to frame her sister. A heated argument erupts, and in the ensuing struggle, Wanzhi strikes A'nan. Manager Huang, who shares a suspiciously close relationship with A'nan, arrives and immediately fires both Wanzhi and Li Juan without listening to their side of the story.
The two sisters leave the factory behind, refusing to stay in such a toxic environment where A'nan and the manager often dine together in his private office. They pick up various odd jobs to survive, working in kitchens and helping out at street food stalls. While working as waitresses at a hotel, Li Juan is tasked with delivering mosquito coils to a guest in room 2213.
The guest, a regular known for his predatory behavior, attempts to bribe Li Juan with four hundred yuan to stay in his room. When he tries to touch her, Li Juan sternly rebukes him and flees. Despite her being the victim of harassment, the guest files a complaint. The hotel manager, strictly following the terms of the employment contract, dismisses Li Juan.
Wanzhi refuses to let her sister leave alone and resigns as well, threatening to report the hotel's unfair practices to the labor bureau. Returning to their rental home, the sisters find Xiao Guoqing and Wanzhi’s father, Meng Siyuan, waiting for them. Meng Siyuan, who traveled to Shenzhen with a provincial inspection team, is so exhausted from his duties as the lead engineer for the Jing River Bridge that he falls asleep on the doorstep.
During their brief reunion, he presents Wanzhi with a certificate of enrollment from her university, which documents her excellent academic record and current leave of absence. He tells her that since coming to Shenzhen was her decision, she must use her own capabilities to prove it was the right one. After Wanzhi prepares a simple meal of instant noodles and sees them off, Li Juan discovers twenty thousand yuan hidden under the bedding.
Though Wanzhi initially considers returning the money, she realizes her father left it out of love and decides to keep it as capital for their future. Inspired by her father’s words about truly making one's way in the city, Wanzhi decides they should stop drifting between menial jobs and start their own business. They spend a week conducting market research, dressing up to visit high-end shopping malls and expensive restaurants to understand local consumption habits.
They eventually decide to sell clothing, but their lack of a proven sales record makes it difficult to secure a supplier. When they look into renting a stall at the bustling Dongmen market, they meet a man known as Gold Tooth who manages several locations. However, the annual rent is a staggering five hundred thousand yuan, a price they cannot possibly afford.
Settling for a less popular street with lower foot traffic, Wanzhi and Li Juan purchase a wholesale lot of clothes and set up a modest stall. Business is initially stagnant, and they struggle to attract any customers. A young woman at a neighboring tea stall, who has many regular clients from local factories, offers them advice on how to read customers and build a loyal base.
Encouraged, the sisters begin hawking their wares more aggressively, even moving their goods into busier areas to catch the eyes of passersby. This practice violates market regulations, leading to a fifty-yuan fine from a market administrator. Gold Tooth mocks their struggle, even making a bet that Wanzhi will end up as his girlfriend if she fails to make a profit. By the end of three months, Wanzhi calculates their earnings and finds they are still operating at a loss. Despite the setback, she insists on paying Li Juan her promised salary, taking the financial hit herself.
