Wu Chunhua then urged Lingling to pursue romance after her postgraduate exams. The two discussed plans for New Year's Eve, deciding to go shopping and enjoy the night market.
Lingling promised to treat her grandma to various fried crispy rice cakes, oily rice snacks, soup dumplings, sticky rice, and oyster omelets, in recognition of her good behavior. Another patient in the ward envied Wu Chunhua's good fortune, as her own son had just flown abroad for a "big deal" and couldn't be with her. Elsewhere, Guan Xiaoyu informed Geng Panpan that she no longer needed him to pretend to be her boyfriend.
She intended to attend the college's New Year's Eve dance, hoping to meet her destined partner and share a "New Year's kiss," a notion that left Geng Panpan disheartened. Simultaneously, Guan Xiaoyu, elegantly dressed for the New Year's dance, was robbed of her bag just as she exited a taxi. Just as Yang Lanhang, visibly moved, seemed about to speak, Bai Lingling was overcome by another wave of nausea and vomited all over him. The next morning, Guan Xiaoyu woke up in a hotel room to find Ouyang Yifan sleeping on the sofa.
Furious, she accused him of being a hypocrite after his dignified behavior at the party. Ouyang Yifan calmly explained that she had been too drunk to go home and had vomited on him, leaving him no choice but to bring her to the hotel. Meanwhile, Bai Lingling awoke to a message from her online friend, "Forever is for Ever," who confessed his feelings and asked to meet.
Thrilled, she immediately shared the news with Guan Xiaoyu and replied to the message, confessing her feelings in return. " Forever is for Ever" then instructed her to look outside her window.
