Li Jing, caught by surprise by Si Yin’s sudden appearance, immediately knelt and apologized, stating that a future between the Heavenly and Winged Tribes was impossible. Xuan Nü, disheveled, stood by Li Jing, affirming their mutual love and asking Si Yin to accept their relationship. Si Yin was furious, remembering Li Jing’s earlier promises to always be by her side, and was disgusted by Xuan Nü’s ingratitude.

Li Jing further provoked her by suggesting Si Yin should be with Mo Yuan. Heartbroken and enraged by the insult to her master, Si Yin declared she would let them be together and turned to leave. As she departed, Xuan Nü reaffirmed her commitment to Li Jing, stating that since she had betrayed Si Yin and Kunlun Void, he was now her only support, and they set off for the Winged Realm.

Returning to Kunlun Void, Si Yin retreated to the wine cellar, where she burned all the love letters and trinkets Li Jing had given her, realizing that what she had mistaken for love had only brought her profound heartbreak. She eventually succumbed to a drunken sleep. Upon waking, Si Yin found her master, Mo Yuan, who had emerged from his retreat, sitting by her side with a look of concern.

Mo Yuan playfully admonished her for starting a fire in the wine cellar, warning that she nearly burned down Kunlun Void. Si Yin, finding solace in his presence, leaned on his lap and wept. Mo Yuan, aware of her sadness, advised her to cry it out so as not to waste his good wine. Si Yin, now composed, questioned why Mo Yuan had ended his retreat so soon. He observed her fluctuating emotions, confident that her sadness would eventually dissipate.

When she inquired about his injuries, Mo Yuan assured her he was fine, playfully adding that he didn't need her to prepare him nourishing soup, indicating he had overheard her earlier musings. He also revealed that he was aware of Xuan Nü, who resembled Si Yin, leaving with Li Jing for the Winged Realm.

Si Yin then shifted the conversation to the Donghuang Bell, expressing confusion that such a world-destroying artifact, crafted by Mo Yuan himself, was now in Qing Cang’s possession. Mo Yuan explained that during the ancient war with the Demon Tribe, Father God had gifted the Donghuang Bell to Qing Cang as a gesture of sincerity to forge an alliance between the Heavenly and Winged Tribes.

He further elaborated on the bell's immense power, capable of obliterating all life, and revealed that the only way to seal it was through the sacrifice of a powerful spirit, whose soul would shatter to restore peace. Mo Yuan stated that only spirits from the Heavenly, Phoenix, or Nine-Tailed Fox Tribes possessed the power to make such a sacrifice. Si Yin deduced this meant Zhe Yan, the Fox Emperor, and the Heavenly Monarch, to which Mo Yuan added, "And me."

As Mo Yuan and Si Yin emerged from the wine cellar, the eldest senior brother presented Mo Yuan with an invitation from Lord of Lingbao for a conference. Mo Yuan decided it was time for Si Yin, his seventeenth disciple, to experience the outside world, much to the eldest senior brother’s surprise given Mo Yuan’s usual disdain for such gatherings. After Mo Yuan agreed to attend and departed, the eldest senior brother pulled Si Yin aside.

He explained that Mo Yuan was only going to cheer Si Yin up, as he believed Si Yin was upset because she was fond of Xuan Nü and was heartbroken that Li Jing had taken her away. Si Yin attempted to clarify the misunderstanding, but her eldest senior brother cut her off, confident he understood her feelings.

Xuan Nü accompanied Li Jing to the Winged Realm, but their arrival was met by Li Yuan, Li Jing's elder brother, who had them apprehended and brought before Qing Cang. Qing Cang, enraged by Li Jing's apparent betrayal, expressed his fury, reminiscing about his leniency towards Li Jing despite sacrificing his birth mother for the Winged Realm. He accused Li Jing of abandoning his tribe for a mere immortal and colluding with Kunlun Void.

Li Jing accepted his fate, only asking for Xuan Nü's life to be spared, which further provoked Qing Cang. Xuan Nü then stepped forward, shielding Li Jing. She declared herself Li Jing's true love, not Si Yin, and cunningly claimed that Li Jing's trip to Kunlun Void was a ploy to spy on the Heavenly Tribe. To prove her loyalty and secure their future, she offered to steal Mo Yuan's formidable battle formation map from Kunlun Void for Qing Cang.

Impressed by her bold proposition, Qing Cang agreed, promising them a lavish nine-day wedding. Despite the Grand Purple Palace being adorned for their wedding, Li Jing displayed no happiness. Seeing Xuan Nü in her phoenix coronet and robes, he was filled with revulsion, recalling her betrayal of her own kind before Qing Cang.

On their wedding night, Li Jing was distant, confessing to Xuan Nü that his heart truly belonged to Si Yin and that he had wronged Si Yin for her. He explicitly stated that while someone lived in his heart, it was not Xuan Nü. Xuan Nü, despite her efforts and sacrifices, was enraged to realize she still could not measure up to Si Yin in Li Jing's eyes.

As Li Jing left the wedding chamber, he was intercepted by Li Yuan and a contingent of soldiers. Li Yuan, gloating, informed Li Jing that he was only spared execution because Xuan Nü's schemes could benefit their father's grand ambition to unify the realms. Li Jing scoffed, asserting that none of Qing Cang's royal children would truly be killed, as they were all too valuable.

Nevertheless, Li Yuan ordered Li Jing to be imprisoned in the dungeon until the eve of battle. Subsequently, Xuan Nü was forcefully dragged before Qing Cang. Qing Cang, surrounded by his loyal generals, publicly declared war on the Heavenly Tribe, accusing Mo Yuan of trespass and theft, and proclaiming his intent to overthrow the Heavenly Monarch and unify the world under the Winged Tribe.

To further humiliate Mo Yuan and signal his resolve, Qing Cang ordered Xuan Nü to be severely whipped with thorny instruments until she was near death, then had her discarded at the very gates of Kunlun Void. Mo Yuan took Si Yin to visit Lingbao Tianzun, where they encountered the Heavenly Monarch's Second and Third Highnesses departing.

After formal greetings, Lingbao Tianzun remarked on the Heavenly Monarch's high regard for his Second Highness, revealing that he had recently enlisted Zhe Yan to propose a marriage between the Second Highness and Bai Qian of Green Hill. Si Yin's audible gasp of surprise drew curious glances from those present. Mo Yuan smoothly intervened, explaining that Si Yin, being a fox disciple adopted and educated by Zhe Yan, was simply overjoyed to hear her benefactor's name.

Si Yin quickly corroborated this explanation, adding that she believed Zhe Yan was not one to meddle in such affairs. Lingbao Tianzun noted that Mo Yuan's previous injuries from enduring three heavenly lightning bolts, combined with his forced early departure from retreat, had left him significantly weakened. Mo Yuan confirmed that he had come to utilize Lingbao Tianzun’s Heavenly Eye Spring for its healing properties.

Lingbao Tianzun then inquired if Mo Yuan’s urgency for recovery was due to the ongoing situation with the Winged Realm or for the Golden Lotus he had been nurturing. Mo Yuan admitted it was for both reasons. Lingbao Tianzun shared that he had recently sensed a significant increase in the Golden Lotus’s spiritual energy, congratulating Mo Yuan that his long-held ambition was nearing fruition, a sentiment Mo Yuan confirmed he also felt.

During their journey back to Kunlun Void, Mo Yuan and Si Yin paused to rest atop a mountain. Mo Yuan, whose old injuries had flared up, concealed his pain from Si Yin by claiming he simply wished to take a short nap. Si Yin, wanting to give him undisturbed rest, moved to a distant spot. Unseen by Si Yin, a shadow identical to Mo Yuan materialized behind her.

Later, as Si Yin reflected on her earlier heartbreak, an internal voice reminded her that she was a "bad disciple" for causing Mo Yuan to sustain heavenly lightning injuries and forcing him to leave his retreat early, noting that he was suffering from his injuries while she remained oblivious.

Upon their return to Kunlun Void, Si Yin proudly announced to her senior brothers that she had safely escorted their master back, remarking on how much she had learned from the trip. However, her boasting was cut short by a report that Xuan Nü had been discovered, critically injured, at the mountain gate. Still angered by Xuan Nü's betrayal, Si Yin initially avoided her.

The eldest senior brother, along with other disciples, rushed to Xuan Nü's aid, finding her severely wounded. They quickly brought her into Kunlun Void and, after seeking Mo Yuan's permission, began to treat her. Xuan Nü, in her weakened state, confessed that the Winged Tribe had indeed rebelled, and Qing Cang had tortured her and thrown her back to Kunlun Void as a direct challenge and humiliation to Mo Yuan.

This revelation confirmed that the war was upon them, much sooner than the Heavenly Monarch and Mo Yuan had anticipated. Xuan Nü, having recovered slightly, sought out Si Yin, kneeling and tearfully begging for forgiveness, claiming she was possessed by evil desires when she wronged her. Si Yin, however, remained unmoved, questioning if Xuan Nü thought her tears could erase her "rotten debts." Xuan Nü then asked why Si Yin allowed her to be saved if she wouldn't forgive her.

Si Yin clarified that it was the eldest senior brother's kindness and Mo Yuan's consent, not her own, that led to Xuan Nü's rescue. Si Yin then bitterly accused Xuan Nü of being ungrateful and as cruel as a wolf. When Xuan Nü pleaded with her not to be so heartless, Si Yin warned her to stay away, asserting that if she were truly heartless, Xuan Nü would have been dead long ago.

Si Yin then firmly ordered Xuan Nü to leave Kunlun Void immediately once her wounds healed, threatening that if she ever got drunk and decided to settle old scores, no one would be able to stop her. Si Yin turned and walked away, leaving Xuan Nü kneeling, whose face then contorted into a sinister expression, revealing her true intent to steal Mo Yuan's battle formation map and bring about his downfall in revenge.
