Duan Jiabao wakes from a nightmare, hoping Jiang Xiaoguo and Luo Yan have forgiven her, but they ignore her. Liang Shuang also refuses to listen to Duan Jiabao's explanations, despite understanding her; Liang Shuang feels conflicted, thinking she might forgive Duan Jiabao if she apologized more. Duan Jiabao misinterprets Liang Shuang's silence as a definitive end to their friendship.
Liang Shuang tells Duan Jiabao to compile all old client contacts and send them, stating she won't need her services anymore, and deliberately goes out for an interview without her. In the midst of this, Liang Shuang receives a box of apples from her Grandma Liang, half of which are rotten; to avoid upsetting her grandmother, Liang Shuang photographs only the good ones.
Meanwhile, Luo Yan is pre-occupied and unhappy due to her mother's situation, ignoring both Jiang Xiaoguo and Lu Ran. Xiong Zhi informs Duan Jiabao about the news of Ouyang Yushuang and Liang Shuang's fight. Duan Jiabao confides that Liang Shuang fired her and that Jiang Xiaoguo and Luo Yan are angry, advising Xiong Zhi to tell his father about quitting his job to avoid a similar situation.
Duan Jiabao had hoped to reconcile with her friends through the Knowledge Contest, believing their "TYTO" group wouldn't easily disband. However, Jiang Xiaoguo and Luo Yan find Bing from a neighboring dorm to team up with for the contest and go out to eat with him. Duan Jiabao, hiding in the bathroom, sadly overhears their conversation.
At the hotpot meal, Bing proves to be stingy, rude to the waiter, and even attempts to evade payment by feigning a dead phone, only to be thwarted by Jiang Xiaoguo's power bank, making Jiang Xiaoguo and Luo Yan realize how much they miss Duan Jiabao. Despite missing her, Jiang Xiaoguo and Luo Yan maintain their pride, insisting Duan Jiabao must apologize first.
In other news, Mojie plans to ask Jiang Xiaoguo out for New Year's and seeks fashion advice from Duan Zhenyu. Duan Zhenyu, influenced by his parents' overly intimate and meticulously celebrated relationship, finds dating troublesome and doesn't understand Mojie's interest in Jiang Xiaoguo. Mojie finds his views amusing. Duan Zhenyu later meets with his sister, Duan Jiabao, who unburdens her recent troubles. Duan Zhenyu comforts her, suggesting Jiang Xiaoguo and Luo Yan just need time to forgive her.
Back in the dorm, Jiang Xiaoguo and Luo Yan return to find Duan Jiabao discussing work with Liang Shuang. Angered, they deliberately praise Bing in front of her. The next morning, Luo Yan ignores Duan Jiabao's attempts to talk, and Liang Shuang puts on headphones to avoid conversation. Xiong Zhi then calls Duan Jiabao, asking her to help him at the "Same Place." At Puling Capital, Mr. Su Sr. appoints Wang Zhongye as the new executive director.
Wang Zhongye has a prior feud with Zhou Xun; he was once Zhou Xun's assistant. Zhou Xun, intending to start his own venture, had given Wang Zhongye the challenging Laos project, which also presented significant development opportunities. However, outsiders perceived this as Zhou Xun sidelining Wang Zhongye, leading to animosity. Mr. Su Sr. specifically chose Wang Zhongye because of this existing conflict with Zhou Xun. He cooks a meal and enlists Duan Jiabao to serve it, who praises Xiong Zhi's culinary skills to his father. Xiong Zhi's father acknowledges the meal's quality but becomes enraged when Xiong Zhi announces he quit to become a chef. As Xiong Zhi chases his father, trying to explain, Duan Jiabao follows anxiously and accidentally falls, spraining her ankle. The argument halts, and Xiong Zhi and his father rush Duan Jiabao to the hospital.
Xiong Zhi calls Luo Yan to inform her and Jiang Xiaoguo. Both friends quickly arrive at the hospital. Seeing Duan Jiabao's foot bandaged and that she is fine, Jiang Xiaoguo and Luo Yan initially maintain their stern expressions and attempt to leave. Duan Jiabao quickly stops them, apologizing for her mistakes and hoping for their reconciliation.
