Yu Chuntong, acting on behalf of An Shigeng, secretly infiltrated Shenhou Mansion. He sprinkled blood powder outside Leng Xue's room, which triggered Leng Xue's wolf nature/wolf poison. In this uncontrolled state, Leng Xue violently attacked Ji Yaohua, choking her. Yu Chuntong observed from behind a wooden pillar in the corridor.
Wu Qing, Zhui Ming, and Tie Shou rushed to the scene but were unable to subdue Leng Xue; his incredible strength injured all three, and he even nearly harmed Wu Qing. At this critical moment, Chu Limo pushed Wu Qing aside, and Leng Xue grabbed her instead, choking her. Having lost all rationality, Leng Xue posed a grave threat to Chu Limo.
Zhuge Zheng Wo (also referred to as Zhuge Wen Diao) urged Chu Limo to remain calm and utilize her Mind-reading skill. As Chu Limo performed the Mind-reading skill, she saw deep hatred within Leng Xue's mind and witnessed his unbearable childhood memory of his clan's massacre. She successfully read these memories and persuaded him to release his hatred. Upon this, Leng Xue immediately released Chu Limo, collapsing to the ground. Chu Limo breathed a sigh of relief.
Leng Xue was then moved to his room to rest. Chu Limo later visited him there, but Leng Xue, though awake, feigned sleep until she departed, opening his eyes only after she left. Subsequently, Zhuge Zheng Wo discussed Leng Xue's wolf poison condition with Chu Limo and revealed Leng Xue's background to her. Zhui Ming discovered injured individuals at Shenhou Mansion, realizing someone had deliberately used blood scent to provoke Leng Xue's wolf nature.
Chu Limo then understood that Yu Chuntong was highly suspicious, but she hesitated to voice her concerns due to her lack of confidence in her Mind-reading skill's accuracy. Later, the Princess learned of Leng Xue's wolf poison and, not wishing Chu Limo to remain involved with him, plotted to bring her into the palace as a maid. To protect Chu Limo from this fate, Leng Xue pretended to order her confinement in a woodshed, hoping she would escape.
However, she was apprehended by Haitang and Hudie. These two women intended to punish Chu Limo, specifically by sewing her mouth shut, but none dared take the responsibility. Chu Limo cleverly used her skill to reveal their hidden thoughts, instigating a conflict between them. Seizing the opportunity created by their argument, Chu Limo managed to escape the woodshed.
On a dark and rainy night, Chu Limo inadvertently entered Wu Qing's room, finding him heavily intoxicated and repeatedly calling out Ruyan's name. Out of curiosity, Chu Limo used her Mind-reading skill to delve into his thoughts. She discovered that Wu Qing and a woman named Ruyan had been deeply in love. However, Ruyan's family compelled her to marry another man.
Wu Qing watched Ruyan's wedding procession, only for Ruyan to be discovered dead inside her sedan chair upon its arrival. She had committed suicide by cutting her wrist, leaving a pool of blood on the sedan chair's floor. Wu Qing, witnessing the tragic scene, opened the sedan chair to see the deceased Ruyan and cried out her name in profound despair, having been heartbroken and grieving ever since.
