> Resumos de Loving Strangers
Following the fallout of the incident at the karaoke parlor, Jiang Jiaqi reaches out to Pang Jian, only to find their relationship fractured by deep-seated suspicion. Pang Jian, now sidelined and bitter, admits that he can no longer offer any protection. He questions how the police knew their exact location, noting that Jiaqi was the only person he had informed about the visit to Lijing KTV.
Feeling betrayed and cornered, Pang Jian warns Jiaqi that his only option now is to follow Gu Chen, as he no longer dares to trust anyone. Meanwhile, at Sen’an Pharma, Gu Chen successfully presents the R&D progress of the SA-0988 drug to Commissioner Du, emphasizing its safety and efficacy. Zhou Yu'an watches the presentation and later confronts Gu Chen, asking if she is next on his list of targets.
In another part of the city, Yao Dongshan attempts to secure a job as a government driver through a relative's connection. However, his plan backfires spectacularly during a square dancing gathering. While Jiang Jialu is helping his mother set up a new Bluetooth speaker, he inadvertently connects it to Dongshan’s phone. When a call comes in from a relative, the entire neighborhood hears the conversation over the speaker.
The caller reveals that Dongshan’s application was rejected due to a failed credit report, publicly exposing him as a court defaulter. The humiliation is too much for his wife, who arrives at the scene in a rage, demanding a divorce and lamenting how his financial failures have jeopardized their daughter's future. Dongshan is forced to flee to avoid his wife’s wrath. Later, the three men—Jiaqi, Jialu, and Dongshan—gather for a somber dinner.
Unbeknownst to Jiaqi, Zhou Yu’an is using a tracking app to listen to their conversation. During the meal, Jialu mocks Jiaqi’s success and mentions the "little girl" at his office who clearly likes him. Jiaqi dismisses the teasing and reveals that he was the one who decided to hire Yu’an. He explains that while other resumes were filled with empty accolades, Yu’an’s simply listed "Running" as her specialty, which signaled to him a unique resilience and tenacity.
Hearing this, Yu’an is visibly moved. She begins to run through the streets, reflecting on his words, only to be intercepted by the debt collector Chen Ren. He slaps her, demanding payment for her parents' debts and threatening both her and her grandmother. Despite the assault, Yu’an remains defiant and later contacts Jiaqi to request a dinner meeting.
Jiang Jialu’s own hopes are crushed when he attends what he believes is a pitch meeting for his film script at the Spring in Paris restaurant. Instead of a serious producer, he meets a former contact who admits he never even showed Jialu’s script to investors. The man mocks Jialu’s decade-old short film award and suggests he direct "trashy" comeback-themed short videos instead.
Insulted and called "garbage," Jialu decides to give up his directorial dreams and joins Dongshan in a new venture—working as couriers for Huo Kuaida. Touched by their struggle, Jiaqi quietly withdraws 20,000 yuan from his dwindling savings to give to his uncle to help them get started. To cover the mounting costs of his secret dealings with Yu’an, Jiaqi is forced to take 5,000 yuan from the account he shares with his wife, Yi Jun.
When Yi Jun receives a bank alert and calls out of concern, Jiaqi lies, claiming the money was for property fees. At dinner, he hands the cash to Yu’an, explaining it is all he can provide for the month. He expresses his desire to end their meetings, feeling increasingly uncomfortable with the deception. Yu’an, however, challenges him, asking if he is afraid of falling in love with her.
As they prepare to leave, Jiaqi insists they walk separately to avoid suspicion, but Yu’an suddenly steps forward and kisses him on the cheek. Startled and conflicted, Jiaqi pushes her away, further entangling himself in a relationship that threatens to unravel his life.
