Han Sheng and Chun Yao were settled in a wine house, with Han Sheng remarking that Kong Qi and Xiao Shan had yet to return. Chun Yao suggested that perhaps Kong Qi and Xiao Shan were already enjoying a happy and romantic time together. Captivated by the exquisite scent of peach blossom wine brewed with millennial snow, Han Sheng decided to try a glass.
She then challenged a sleepy Chun Yao to a drinking game, confident in her skills, while Chun Yao also declared he never lost. Meanwhile, Kong Qi and Xiao Shan were delighting in the annual Lantern Festival in Snow Camel Town. Xiao Shan offered Kong Qi snacks, which he declined, before she spotted a "true love knot" prize at a lantern riddle booth and insisted Kong Qi help her win it.
Kong Qi skillfully solved two riddles, and Xiao Shan, in turn, successfully solved the final one, earning them the true love knot. Kong Qi initially assumed Xiao Shan wouldn't grasp the romantic significance of the knot, but she surprised him by explaining its meaning and then giving it to him. Kong Qi reacted with a slight blush before Xiao Shan quickly ran off.
Unbeknownst to them, two masked individuals, members of the Snow Wolf tribe, were discreetly observing their every move. As Han Sheng and Chun Yao continued their drinking game, both became quite drunk. Han Sheng teased Chun Yao, expressing a wish to be beautiful. Chun Yao rose and told her she was already beautiful, declaring he wanted to keep her by his side forever.
He then gently pushed Han Sheng onto the bed, seemingly about to kiss her, but succumbed to drunkenness and collapsed onto her. Han Sheng, lying beneath him, felt both shy and expectant, wondering if Chun Yao was deliberately playing a trick on her. Later, Kong Qi presented Xiao Shan with a string of wish stones as a reciprocal gift. Xiao Shan confessed her only wish was to understand her origins, find her family, and discover her true identity.
Kong Qi, moved by her words, told Xiao Shan he would make her wish come true once he gained more power. He then told Xiao Shan that he would now be her family and would protect her wherever she went. Just as he was about to confess his deeper feelings, Han Sheng abruptly appeared, interrupting their intimate moment. Embarrassed, Kong Qi and Xiao Shan quickly fabricated an excuse about watching fireworks, and Xiao Shan swiftly retreated to her room.
Han Sheng regretted her untimely appearance, realizing she had spoiled their moment. The next morning, Chun Yao woke up in Han Sheng's bed feeling disoriented and certain he hadn't misbehaved. However, the sight of a heart lock on his wrist made him question what had happened. He concluded that the wine must have been tainted, leading to his inexplicable state. Downstairs, at breakfast, an awkward silence hung between Chun Yao and Han Sheng.
Xiao Shan innocently asked about their activities the previous night, prompting both Chun Yao and Han Sheng to deny anything unusual had occurred, almost too quickly. Overhearing fellow diners discussing recent sightings of Snow Wolves with distinctive wolf head tattoos, Chun Yao's expression grew serious. He immediately urged his companions to finish their food quickly so they could depart. The group arrived at Xiao Palace, which was in ruins, a desolate site deserted for a millennium.
Han Sheng found the atmosphere chilling and clung close to Chun Yao. Xiao Shan, however, displayed an inexplicable familiarity with the ancient palace. She touched an ornate chair and then a weapon, which activated a hidden mechanism, revealing a secret underground room. As she touched the weapon, fragmented memories surfaced, including voices speaking of guarding the Xiao family and eradicating the Snow Wolves. Simultaneously, the Snow Wolf King received intelligence that Princess Xiao Shan had entered Xiao Palace.
Viewing this as a divine blessing, he swiftly ordered his soldiers to launch an immediate assault on the palace to seize the Ice Fire Stone, commanding them to eliminate anyone who dared to stand in their way. Inside the palace's secret chamber, Chun Yao led the group to the Green-feathered Emperor, who was seated on a grand throne, holding the Ice Fire Stone. Chun Yao instructed Xiao Shan to retrieve the stone.
Kong Qi voiced his concern for Xiao Shan's safety, but she understood that only she could acquire the sacred object. Chun Yao warned her that recovering her lost memories would bring painful recollections, but Xiao Shan, resolute in her decision to save the Hundred Spirits Lake and reclaim her past, bravely stepped forward, declaring her readiness to face any consequences. The moment Xiao Shan's hand touched the Ice Fire Stone, a torrent of memories flooded her mind.
She realized her true identity as Xiao Shan, the third princess of the Xiao Family of the Snow Camel Clan. Chun Yao then explained that Green-feathered Emperor was her husband. He recounted the devastating war between the Snow Camel Clan and the Snow Wolf Clan a thousand years ago, which had resulted in the tragic loss of her family and her own life.
The Green-feathered Emperor had preserved her essence by guarding her heart with his primordial spirit and her physical form with his wings, ultimately entrusting her to Chun Yao, who then nurtured her as the amnesiac Shan in the Hundred Spirits Lake. Chun Yao expressed his remorse, wishing she could have lived a life free from the burdens of her past, but conceded that fate had brought the Hundred Spirits Lake to the brink of disaster.
Suddenly, the Green-feathered Emperor on the throne stirred and awakened. Xiao Shan confronted him, her voice laced with bitterness as she spoke of his past deceptions. She raised her weapon, ready to strike him, but he made no attempt to defend himself. He offered a profound apology, explaining that he had lingered in that state for a thousand years to atone for his past wrongs, particularly his failure to protect her when the Snow Lotus was lost.
He declared that his life had belonged to her ever since, and he had remained to thank her for saving his life, to apologize for snubbing her, and to repay his debts throughout eternity. He then wished her a new life filled with love and cherished companionship, ensuring she would never again be alone, before his primordial spirit faded away into nothingness.
