The Thousand Faces of Dunshu 2
The Thousand Faces of Dunshu 2 is a Chinese horror movie, directed by Chen Hao, starring Shu Yaxin, Zhu Moyan, and Norman Chui.
Although its title suggests that there is a first movie, this is a standalone movie. The “2” was used as a marketing ploy due to the success of The Thousand Faces of Dunjia/奇门遁甲 (2017) on streaming platforms, leading audiences, misguided by the similarity between "Dunshu" and "Dunjia," to believe that it was a sequel. The actual The Thousand Faces of Dunjia 2/奇门遁甲2 was only released in April 2023, three months later.

Sinopsis
During the Tianchao era, envoys from Dongying bewitch the Emperor, plotting to unleash the Demon God Chi You, who has been sealed for a thousand years, to wreak havoc upon the mortal world. The Qimen Sect, determined to protect the seal, is brutally suppressed. By chance, the wandering elder Master Dongguo encounters the exceptionally gifted Liu Zimo and schemes to take him on as his disciple.
As the pursuit by Dongying’s sinister followers tightens, Liu Zimo and his companions struggle to resist. In a desperate bid to ensure Liu Zimo’s escape, Master Dongguo sacrifices himself, entrusting him with the “Eye Arm,” the key to breaking the seal. Forced to shoulder a heavy burden, Liu Zimo embarks on a journey of cultivation, only to find himself entangled in a tragic romance.
Seizing the opportunity, the Dongying enchantress Yuan Huizi releases Chi You. The heavens darken, storms gather, and a life-and-death battle looms on the horizon.
