Following his capture, Dahan was subjected to intense interrogation. Under duress, he finally revealed the whereabouts of the remaining members of the Ying Liu Society. Qiao Zhen Tian swiftly mobilized his forces, cornering the remnants of the organization as they were preparing to flee Yunhai City. His officers commanded, "Don't move!" and apprehended all of them, with Qiao Zhen Tian ordering, "Take them all!" With this decisive action, the Ying Liu Society was completely uprooted from Yunhai City.
Qiao Zhen Tian then proclaimed, "From now on, there will be no more Ying Liu Society in the world," and ordered all their remaining items burned. Later, observing Mu Xingchen and Chu Tianyao's closeness, Qiao Zhen Tian believed his chance with Ye Yunshang had returned. He confronted Ye Yunshang, accusing Mu Xingchen of being a deceitful playboy who is "fickle, a colourful character, and completely unstable."
Qiao Zhen Tian expressed his disdain for such individuals, asserting that he, unlike Mu Xingchen, could remain untainted by other women. He swore that if Ye Yunshang chose him, he would never be with another woman for the rest of his life. Ye Yunshang, however, dismissed his advances, telling him to give it a rest, as he himself was no saint.
Meanwhile, Ding Xiang, Ye Yunshang’s attendant, voiced her concerns about Chu Tianyao's intentions, calling her a "fox spirit" who was using her life-saving favor to cling to Mu Xingchen, especially since Ye Yunshang's father was already preparing her wedding to Mu Xingchen. Ye Yunshang, however, maintained her faith in Mu Xingchen, stating that if he were truly swayed by another, she wouldn't want him anyway, believing that "no one can control the desires of the heart."
She asked Ding Xiang to drop the topic, promising to handle it herself. Earlier, when Mu Xingchen and Chu Tianyao were together, Chu Tianyao suddenly claimed to feel unwell. Mu Xingchen offered to take her back to rest, and they departed, leaving Ye Yunshang behind. Qiao Zhen Tian, observing them, commented that they seemed to be "progressing quickly." A German expert team arrived in Yunhai City, including Professor Hansi, Ye Yunshang's mentor, and two of her classmates, Leiya and David.
Ye Yunshang was delighted to see them. Qiao Zhen Tian, accompanying Ye Yunshang to greet them, caught the eye of Leiya, a striking foreign woman. Leiya immediately kissed both of Qiao Zhen Tian's cheeks upon meeting him, an action he found surprising. Ye Yunshang warned Leiya that Qiao Zhen Tian was a "playboy," but Leiya brushed it off, expressing disinterest in such concerns.
Despite Leiya's overt interest and attempts to get closer to him, Qiao Zhen Tian remained distant, his thoughts still focused on Ye Yunshang. During a tour of the pharmaceutical factory, Ye Qiushi introduced Mu Xingchen to Professor Hansi as Ye Yunshang's boyfriend, which visibly displeased Chu Tianyao. Witnessing Qiao Zhen Tian's disinterest in Leiya, Chu Tianyao suddenly had an idea. She approached Qiao Zhen Tian and offered a plan to help him pursue Ye Yunshang.
When he inquired about it, Chu Tianyao instructed him to visit her at the clinic later, promising to help him "consummate" his relationship with Ye Yunshang. While at the pharmaceutical factory, Leiya also approached Qiao Zhen Tian, asking to be friends and inviting him out. Qiao Zhen Tian initially claimed to be Ye Yunshang's "official" boyfriend (implying Mu Xingchen was "unofficial") but ultimately rejected Leiya, stating he was a "decent person."
Qiao Zhen Tian later went to the Ye Clinic as instructed. Chu Tianyao handed him a packet of medicine, advising him to give it to Ye Yunshang to drink, assuring him that his wishes would "come true." Qiao Zhen Tian hesitated but eventually accepted the medicine. Later, Qiao Zhen Tian found Ye Yunshang and Leiya at a coffee shop and joined them.
Seizing an opportune moment when Ye Yunshang was distracted, he discreetly poured the medicine Chu Tianyao had given him into Ye Yunshang's cup. Leiya, noticing his action, curiously asked what he had added. Qiao Zhen Tian quickly explained it was "milk powder." When Ye Yunshang remarked she was allergic to milk powder, Leiya offered to drink it herself, as she enjoyed milk in her coffee. Panicked, Qiao Zhen Tian snatched the cup and drank the entire contents himself.
At that moment, Ding Xiang rushed over to inform Ye Yunshang that a seriously injured patient had arrived in the emergency room. Ye Yunshang immediately left with Ding Xiang, telling Leiya she would return shortly. As the medicine took effect, Qiao Zhen Tian began to hallucinate, mistaking Leiya for Ye Yunshang. He embraced and kissed Leiya, who, surprised but interested, asked, "Do you like me?"
Realizing his mistake, Qiao Zhen Tian quickly broke away and fled, shouting, "I'm not a good person!" and urging Leiya to leave. Undeterred, Leiya pursued him, asking what was wrong and if she could help. Qiao Zhen Tian ran into a small room, with Leiya close behind. Once inside, Leiya reiterated her willingness to help him. Unable to control himself any longer, Qiao Zhen Tian grabbed Leiya and kissed her.
Leiya, delighted, reciprocated his passion, and they shared an intimate moment. When Ye Yunshang returned and discovered them, she angrily denounced Qiao Zhen Tian as an "animal." Leiya, however, was in high spirits and blew Qiao Zhen Tian a satisfied kiss as she cheerfully departed. Later, Qiao Zheng Kun, Qiao Zhen Tian's father, confided in his son about his illness, revealing it was the result of poison administered by a mysterious woman he encountered in the misty forest years ago.
He mentioned that Shangguan Qing and Mu Xingchen seemed to be familiar with the "Shenmu tribe" and suggested that Qiao Zhen Tian could approach Mu Xingchen to seek the treatment method for his condition. Meanwhile, Mu Xingchen informed Ye Yunshang that he intended to return to the Shenmu tribe to speak with his father about breaking off his engagement.
Ye Yunshang asked about Chu Tianyao, to which Mu Xingchen explained that he couldn't disregard her, as he owed her a life-saving favor. Just then, Qiao Zhen Tian arrived, seeking Mu Xingchen's help for his father's rapidly worsening illness. Despite some initial hesitation and Ye Yunshang's skepticism about Qiao Zhen Tian's intentions, Mu Xingchen, prioritizing the patient's well-being, agreed to accompany Qiao Zhen Tian, asking Ye Yunshang to wait for him at home.
