However, the boss was displeased with Tong Tong, revealing that Song Zihao wanted to replace her as his agent.
He reminded Tong Tong that her temporary promotion didn't guarantee her position, emphasizing that he values results over personal relationships and would replace anyone deemed incompetent. At that moment, Shen Qiansha burst into the office, angrily accusing Du Guruonan of firing her out of personal vendetta. Du Guruonan calmly stated that Shen Qiansha was fired for ignoring traffic rules and lacking professional ethics.
Shen Qiansha then revealed her father was the chairman of Ruiqi Group, implying that firing her would jeopardize Ruiqi’s endorsement deals. Upon learning Shen Qiansha’s identity, the boss suggested Du Guruonan reconsider, but Du Guruonan firmly refused, stating that her agency was not a shelter for spoiled individuals. The owner recounted Ji Mo’s earlier visit, explaining how he had shown Du Guruonan's photo and asked for less chili due to her stomach. The owner remarked that they were a perfect match. Upon returning to Zhao Yucheng, Du Guruonan was visibly disturbed, mumbling about old and new memories, and then refusing to eat the spicy food, remembering "he said I can't eat spicy food." Sida, having reached his limit, explicitly stated that he never liked her, didn't like her now, and never would, demanding if she understood.
He then boarded the bus, leaving Shen Qiansha behind, who still believed she had a chance if Zhao Yucheng hadn't won Du Guruonan over. Later that night, Ji Mo unconsciously drove to Du Guruonan’s apartment building. He saw her return home, still very drunk from her outing with Zhao Yucheng. Mistaking him for a hallucination, Du Guruonan touched his face and confessed her complicated feelings, admitting she liked him intensely despite her occasional annoyance, because he was "real."
Ji Mo carried her inside, where she continued to ramble about his "virtue" of pretending not to care for someone he liked. The next morning, Ji Mo was still at her apartment, visibly angry as Du Guruonan had no memory of the previous night. He texted her, admonishing her to "behave herself" and "cure her habit of sleeping around after drinking." Du Guruonan woke up to find her apartment spotlessly clean and wondered who had brought her home.
She immediately suspected Ji Mo, realizing with mortification that she might have kissed him.
