On the eve of their wedding, a rare celestial event known as the alignment of the Seven Stars transports them to a war-torn ancient era. There, Song Youning assists He Linyuan in building the Great Yuan Dynasty. However, seven years later, their relationship falls apart when He Linyuan decides to take the physician Zhuang Wanyue as a concubine.

After 999 confessions, He Linyuan (Roland Hyde) finally moves Song Youning’s (Ashley Zerkle) heart. Just before their wedding, a Seven-Star Alignment occurs, and the two are suddenly transported to a chaotic ancient time of war. Song Youning stands by his side through countless battles and helps him establish the Great Yuan Dynasty. He Linyuan crowns her empress and promises her a lifetime of monogamy.
Seven years later, however, he brings back a physician named Zhuang Wanyue and intends to make her his consort. Unable to accept this betrayal, Song Youning is thrown into prison, utterly heartbroken. The Imperial Preceptor reveals that the Seven-Star Alignment will appear again in seven days, offering her a chance to return home. Enduring in silence, Song Youning waits out the final seven days, while He Linyuan, convinced that she will never leave, grows complacent—accepting a life of multiple wives and concubines, and allowing Zhuang Wanyue to torment her without restraint.
