Lin Heping's mother was disappointed to find Qiao Man had left, especially after preparing dishes she thought Nan Sheng would like. She expressed her strong affection for Qiao Man to Lin Heping, stating she felt an innate desire to be kind to her and that Qiao Man was far preferable to Xu Ah Li, whom she would never approve of Lin Heping dating.

Lin Heping received a call from Xu Ah Li, who informed him of an upcoming event at the office that both Han Sen and Mr. Yan would attend, urging Lin Heping to be there. Before Lin Heping left, his mother insisted he take some dumplings she had made specially for Qiao Man, asking him to convey her fondness and invite Qiao Man to visit again.

Lin Heping delivered the dumplings to Qiao Man, who was touched by his mother's kindness, revealing that her own mother passed away when she was very young. Feeling a deeper connection, Qiao Man expressed her curiosity about Nan Sheng, and Lin Heping agreed to tell her the story.

However, their conversation was cut short when Han Sen called Qiao Man, informing her he would pick her up for an event she was required to attend, postponing her talk with Lin Heping. Meanwhile, He Xiaoxi met with Jin Ke to discuss a collaboration, and with their previous misunderstandings resolved, they were optimistic about the novel's future.

However, their meeting was interrupted when Jin Ke's assistant informed him she had received a letter of demand, revealing that Yi Feng Magazine was suing them. Jin Ke was infuriated, accusing He Xiaoxi of playing games. He Xiaoxi, genuinely unaware of the lawsuit, apologized and requested two days to resolve the issue, but Jin Ke angrily asserted that the consignment agreement between Qiao Man and Ben had been terminated, rendering the copyright agreement invalid.

He Xiaoxi then confronted Luo Chen, who readily admitted to sending the lawyer's letter. He argued that the court would clearly resolve the issue, dismissing He Xiaoxi's concerns about public perception and the potential negative impact on their authors. Despite He Xiaoxi's warnings that challenging Jin Ke after the contract termination would lead to their loss, Luo Chen defiantly stated he would never let the matter go.

He asserted his belief that the copyright was rightfully his and that no one could take away what he already possessed. At Li Ping Pavilion, Xu Ah Li was busy organizing a grand welcome party for Han Sen, which she also framed as a celebration of his marriage to Qiao Man. Lin Heping, upon arriving, expressed his disapproval, stating the office was a place for work, not a wedding.

Xu Ah Li, however, dismissed his concerns, implying jealousy and revealing that Mr. Yan had suggested the elaborate welcome. As the celebration was being set up, Lin Heping was called to meet a painting buyer. To his surprise, it was Mr. Yan, who expressed interest in purchasing all of Lin Heping's current collection, particularly "The Beacon." Lin Heping stated that "The Beacon" was his personal collection and not for sale.

Mr. Yan acknowledged that Lin Heping was selling other paintings to help Xu Ah Li repay a 10 million RMB debt and offered to buy "The Beacon" as well to fully resolve Lin Heping's financial crisis, emphasizing his talent and his desire for him to focus on work. Lin Heping reassured Mr. Yan of his commitment to Li Ping Pavilion's future, particularly its goal to go public. Later, Qiao Man joined Han Sen at the party.

Xu Ah Li presented them with flowers, loudly congratulating Han Sen on his new role and marriage, and instigated the crowd to cheer for the "newlyweds" to drink cross-cupped wine. From a distance, Lin Heping watched Qiao Man, a somber look on his face.

The celebration was abruptly interrupted when Xiao Zhi's parents stormed in, loudly accusing Han Sen of being a liar and a "freaking jerk" for marrying Qiao Man, their daughter's best friend, after professing his love to Xiao Zhi. They revealed they learned about the marriage through social media and physically confronted Han Sen. Han Sen, enraged and embarrassed, stormed out, followed by a distraught Xiao Zhi.

She tried to apologize, explaining she only fabricated their relationship to appease her parents, but Han Sen insisted she go back and explain the truth to everyone. Xiao Zhi then unexpectedly confessed her genuine feelings for Han Sen, telling him she had grown to like his humor and maturity despite his past, and though she knew he loved Qiao Man, she needed to confess to put an end to her feelings for her own sake.

Han Sen was left visibly stunned by her confession. Lin Heping then brought Qiao Man to his collection room, offering to tell her about Nan Sheng. He presented her with Nan Sheng's diary, explaining it contained everything about Nan Sheng before her death. As Qiao Man leafed through the pages, she felt a profound sense of familiarity, as if the words awakened a dormant part of her heart. She requested to take the precious book home to read.

Later, alone with the diary, Qiao Man was astonished to find that the writing style and even the handwriting were almost identical to her own, leading her to question if she could possibly be Nan Sheng, an idea she dismissed as absurd yet deeply unsettling. Meanwhile, Xu Zhen Sheng was released from prison. Upon returning to his old home, he found everything familiar yet tinged with the sadness of an unreachable past.

He looked at an old photograph of five young people, including Nan Sheng and Lin Heping, lamenting how much he missed their time together. A flashback then showed Xu Zhen Sheng's youth. He discovered Luo Chen's portrait of Nan Sheng, which was meant for an exhibition. Driven by a fierce desire to protect Lin Heping and Nan Sheng's relationship from Luo Chen's perceived attempts to "seduce" Nan Sheng, Xu Zhen Sheng defiantly destroyed the painting in Professor Su Shan's office.

Professor Su Shan was furious, admonishing Xu Zhen Sheng for disrespecting art and demanding he apologize to Luo Chen. Xu Zhen Sheng, however, vehemently refused, stating he hated the painting and would bear any consequences, even expulsion. Luo Chen then confronted Xu Zhen Sheng, asking why he destroyed his painting instead of confronting him directly. Xu Zhen Sheng remained unrepentant, reiterating his willingness to be expelled.

Professor Su Shan, seeing his stubbornness, told Xu Zhen Sheng to report to the Academic Affairs Office the next day to process his withdrawal. Nan Sheng arrived shortly after, confronting Professor Su Shan about the expulsion. She argued that Luo Chen had painted her without her consent, making his actions disrespectful as well, and questioning how the school could punish Xu Zhen Sheng so severely when the subject of the painting herself hadn't approved.

A heartbroken Luo Chen, feeling misunderstood, sadly retorted that he was just imagining things and left. Professor Su Shan, while acknowledging Nan Sheng's feelings, maintained that destroying artwork was unforgivable, and expelling Xu Zhen Sheng was merely a light punishment. Meanwhile, Xu Ah Li was confronted by Tuo Zi, a moneylender, who revealed that Feng Shang Craft Factory, where Xu Ah Li had invested, had gone bankrupt and demanded repayment of the money Xu Ah Li had borrowed from him.

Just then, Xu Zhen Sheng returned home, interrupting the tense conversation. Xu Ah Li quickly sent Tuo Zi away, making an excuse that he was just a neighbor. Xu Zhen Sheng then revealed to his sister that he was going to be expelled from school for destroying Luo Chen's painting, explaining he did it to protect Lin Heping and Nan Sheng's relationship from Luo Chen's interference.

Xu Ah Li was furious at his recklessness, but Xu Zhen Sheng remained adamant, declaring he would rather be expelled than apologize to Luo Chen. Xu Ah Li later confronted Lin Heping, angrily blaming him for influencing Xu Zhen Sheng and turning him into a "spy" for Nan Sheng. She demanded he resolve the situation and ensure her brother wasn't expelled. Lin Heping, taking responsibility, promised to prevent Xu Zhen Sheng's expulsion.

Separately, Xu Zhen Sheng visited Lin Heping's mother and, with his helpfulness and sweet demeanor, quickly charmed her. She affectionately adopted him as her son, expressing her desire for a child like him. However, she also asked him to persuade Lin Heping to end his relationship with Nan Sheng, stating her sole focus was on finding the hit-and-run driver responsible for Nan Sheng's father's death. Lin Heping then sought out Luo Chen at the school canteen where he worked.

Lin Heping asked Luo Chen to stop targeting Xu Zhen Sheng, suggesting they keep their rivalry over Nan Sheng between themselves. Luo Chen was unyielding, demanding Xu Zhen Sheng face the consequences for destroying his precious painting. Lin Heping offered to design the "Four Seasons Art" in exchange for Xu Zhen Sheng's forgiveness, but Luo Chen scoffed at the offer, stating it held no appeal. Instead, Luo Chen proposed a single condition: Lin Heping must take a punch from him.

Lin Heping, determined to save his friend, agreed. Luo Chen delivered a heavy blow, and after Lin Heping confirmed he was satisfied, Luo Chen grudgingly promised to allow Xu Zhen Sheng to remain in school for two more years, but reiterated his disinterest in the "Four Seasons Art" design.

Xu Ah Li, guided by Lin Heping's suggestion, decided to reopen her old shop, Xin Xin Craft Shop, transforming it into their new office and renaming it "Li Ping Pavilion," symbolizing their joint ownership and shared responsibility, expressing confidence in its future success. Meanwhile, Luo Chen was in despair, packing up his art supplies and declaring he would give up painting entirely.

Professor Su Shan tried to dissuade him, reminding him of his talent and urging him not to be so easily defeated, encouraging him to paint another, better piece for the upcoming Art Festival. Luo Chen, however, explained that his despair was not just about the destroyed painting; if he couldn't freely express his feelings through his art, then painting had lost all meaning for him. Professor Su Shan advised him to calm down and reconsider.

Later, Nan Sheng sought out Luo Chen, finding him still deeply saddened. She apologized for her harsh words during their earlier confrontation, acknowledging they had hurt him more than any actions by Xu Zhen Sheng or Lin Heping. Luo Chen admitted his actions were driven by his feelings for her.

Nan Sheng then offered a gesture of encouragement: she asked him to draw another painting and offered to be his model, expressing her regret that his previous painting, despite her initial dislike, had been destroyed, recognizing his exceptional drawing skills. Luo Chen was visibly moved by her words and renewed offer.
