At the Four Wall Apartments, the Tengda team remains puzzled over Pei Qian’s secretive employment at Sky Fire. While some speculate he is acting as a mole to steal trade secrets, others argue that Sky Fire has nothing worth taking, as they are usually the ones stealing from others. Lin Wan and the team eventually decide to trust that their boss is working hard in silence to surprise everyone, choosing to wait patiently for his return.

At the Sky Fire office, the atmosphere is far less optimistic. Pei Qian arrives to find Wei Dongli slumped in his chair, looking so exhausted that Pei Qian briefly fears for his life. Wei Dongli explains that he has been working since a 5 AM meeting and only had a few hours before needing to clock in again.

When Pei Qian offers to help with his reports, Wei Dongli reveals that the management has strictly forbidden anyone from giving Pei Qian any work. Realizing he is being frozen out just days before his probation ends, Pei Qian confronts Zhou Muyan. Zhou challenges him to playtest their new game, "Eternal Reincarnation", with the condition that he must complete it within twenty-four hours to pass his probation. The playtest proves to be a grueling ordeal. "

Eternal Reincarnation" is a blatant "soulslike" knockoff of Tengda's "Returning to Shore", but with a frustrating twist: players must recite complex tongue-twisters to execute moves. As Pei Qian struggles through the night in a dusty room, he suffers from nightmares where Zhou Muyan berates his work attitude and questions his value to the company.

Despite the sheer difficulty of the game, which seems designed to eliminate nearly every player, Pei Qian manages to beat the final boss just as the sun rises. Exhausted but successful, Pei Qian heads to the executive office only to witness Manager Zhao and Zhou Muyan firing Wei Dongli. Using the "Last-place Elimination System" as a pretext, they cite minor lateness and poor report quality as grounds for dismissal without severance.

Wei Dongli desperately pleads for his job, explaining that his father recently had heart surgery, his mother just suffered a stroke, his wife is busy assisting family dialysis, and his child has a fever. He points to his history of working until dawn, but Manager Zhao dismisses his life struggles as mere excuses. When the HR representative flatly denies him N+1 compensation, Pei Qian intervenes. Pei Qian records the entire conversation on his phone.

Having studied the Labor Contract Law after his own past experiences with unfair dismissal, he methodically recites the legal provisions regarding non-fault-based termination. He points out that Sky Fire must provide N+1 compensation, including notice pay, or face labor arbitration. Intimidated by the recording and Pei Qian’s legal expertise, Zhou Muyan reluctantly agrees to pay.

He then informs Pei Qian that he has failed his probation, but Pei Qian simply quits on the spot, leaving with a mocking tongue-twister wishing them "success" in their own way. As the duo leaves the building, the other employees break into applause, proud of them for standing up to the corporate machine. Following his departure, Pei Qian is directed by Xin Hailu to meet Mr. Sima at an old high-rise apartment.

To Pei Qian's surprise, the building has no elevator, forcing him to climb the stairs to the top. Despite his wealth, Mr. Sima refuses to leave the place where he grew up, believing that living among the common people is the only way to understand the world. After their meeting, Pei Qian finally returns to Tengda, where he receives a hero's welcome.

He introduces Wei Dongli, now nicknamed "Mr. Goji" for his love of the berries, as a new member of the family. Pei Qian is shocked to find his office completely renovated by Ma Yang and the others, who felt his previous environment was too pathetic. Back in his element, Pei Qian encourages his team to keep making their own decisions, trusting the capabilities they showed while he was away.

Huang Sibo suggests adapting a "sweet love" novel into a television drama to keep the profits within the company. Pei Qian agrees to the venture, naming the new studio Feihuang Pictures. However, Pei Qian’s attempt to earn extra money as a "slash youth" by driving an e-hailing car and selling snacks to passengers is cut short.

Xin Hailu catches him using the company car for personal gain and sternly warns him that she will confiscate the vehicle if it happens again. Soon after, Sky Fire releases a high-budget trailer for "Eternal Reincarnation". The game is a high-quality production, but the core gameplay is a clear imitation of Tengda’s work, simply swapping poetry for tongue-twisters. The comment section is flooded with bot accounts praising Sky Fire as the "god of domestic games" while disparaging Tengda.

When the team alerts Pei Qian to the blatant plagiarism and the coordinated smear campaign, he remains strangely calm. He sends back an abstract, Zen-like message about karma and slandering the "Triple Gem," advising his team to ignore the noise and focus on their own work to avoid their own "eternal damnation." His employees are left wondering if his time at Sky Fire has made him lose his mind or reach a new level of enlightenment.
