Lin Huayin remained deeply infatuated with Ye Hai, picking out a necklace as a Valentine's gift for him, despite knowing her affection was likely unrequited. When she presented the gift, Ye Hai was indifferent, which greatly upset her. Later, Ye Tian called her, inquiring about Ye Hai, further irritating Lin Huayin. Knowing the necklace couldn't be given to Ye Hai, Lin Huayin then offered it to Ye Tian, explaining that besides Ye Hai, she had no other close friends.
Ye Tian, however, refused Lin Huayin's necklace, feeling that it was merely a hand-me-down and that she was pitying him. He advised her to focus on her responsibilities at the lab, particularly with the upcoming experiment, suggesting she coordinate with Jiang Zhi and Liu Lan to convince Mo Liang. Kang Hao took An Fei out for dinner, where An Fei surprised him with her remarkable tolerance for alcohol, consuming several bottles of wine without seeming to get drunk.
Before she completely passed out, she was awarded a "big eater" medal by the restaurant staff, who took her photo for advertisement. Eventually, An Fei collapsed at the table. Upon waking up, she found Kang Hao still heavily intoxicated. Unable to find his address, she decided to take him back to her rental home. She called aunt Zhang, who, after some hesitation about a male colleague staying overnight, eventually agreed but advised An Fei to seek Ye Hai’s consent.
When An Fei arrived with the very drunk Kang Hao, Ye Hai was visibly annoyed and initially objected to him staying. However, aunt Zhang intervened and insisted that Kang Hao sleep in Ye Hai’s room for the night. Kang Hao was unconscious. Despite his frustration, Ye Hai relented, putting Kang Hao in his own room and moving into An Fei's room for the night.
Meanwhile, Jiang Zhi summoned Liu Lan, explicitly ordering her to acquire all of Mo Liang's sea hydrogen gas storage methods and his database, emphasizing that these were the very foundation of the lab and Mo Liang's intellectual property. Liu Lan expressed her reluctance, stating she could not betray Mo Liang. Jiang Zhi, however, remained firm, asserting that this was not a negotiation.
He then threatened Liu Lan, revealing his knowledge of her presence at the recent diving competition, where an "important project" like the Pressure gauge was involved. He warned that if Mo Liang were to discover her involvement, he would be profoundly disappointed in her. Jiang Zhi also suggested that An Fei was the real threat, having stolen Liu Lan's pride, implying Liu Lan should cooperate to prevent further damage to her position.
Later, while Mo Liang was fast asleep from exhaustion at his desk in the lab, Liu Lan covertly accessed his computer and copied the project data. She glanced at Mo Liang with a conflicted expression. The next morning, aunt Zhang complained about the mess in the house. Kang Hao woke up, disoriented, and learned from aunt Zhang that An Fei was the one who had brought him home. He was both surprised and pleased by this revelation.
Aunt Zhang then asked him to wake An Fei to help clean. Kang Hao went to An Fei's room and knocked, but it was Ye Hai who answered the door, appearing disheveled. Inside, An Fei was visible, sound asleep in her bed. Kang Hao immediately misinterpreted the scene, assuming that Ye Hai and An Fei were in a romantic relationship and living together. Feeling awkward and saddened, he quickly left.
Back at the lab, a remorseful Kang Hao discussed the upcoming experiment with Researcher Lu. He expressed profound guilt, believing that An Fei "sacrificed herself" for the sake of the lab, and insisted that they must dedicate 120% effort to the experiment to honor her supposed sacrifice. Researcher Lu appeared confused by his words. Aunt Zhang, observing the morning’s events, questioned Ye Hai about his relationship with An Fei, especially after Kang Hao’s presence.
Ye Hai clarified that he and Kang Hao were not in the same room. He then asked aunt Zhang for advice on how to win a girl's forgiveness if she's angry. Aunt Zhang advised him to become An Fei's protector, given her parents were not with her, and emphasized the importance of earning her complete trust. She also warned Ye Hai to maintain clear boundaries with other women, like Lin Huayin, to avoid causing An Fei to overthink.
Seeing Ye Hai diligently helping to clean the messy house, An Fei was impressed. An Fei initially asked what happened last night. Ye Hai reassured her that "nothing" happened while she was drunk. After Aunt Zhang left for her cooking class, An Fei and Ye Hai continued cleaning the house together in sweet harmony. An Fei then went to wash up, puzzling over why she had makeup on and how she drank so much, before removing it.
Later, Duan Xiche arrived to discuss their ongoing search for Andrew and the investigation into Ye Hai's diving accident. Duan Xiche informed Ye Hai that although Dong Zi Long had provided Andrew's last known location near the diving competition, they had since lost his trail again. However, he also revealed that Andrew had made a stop at Jiang Zhi's office.
Ye Hai connected this to his suspicion that Andrew might be his parents' killer and pointed out that Jiang Zhi and Andrew had known each other from Nan Hai. During this conversation, Ye Hai experienced a sudden dizzy spell, causing Duan Xiche concern, but he quickly recovered. They also discussed the urgent mission to find Dr. C. Later, Ye Hai took An Fei for a bike ride to the beach, despite his somewhat unsteady cycling.
An Fei expressed concern about him falling and ruining her "beauty." Along the way, Ye Hai revealed more details about Andrew, identifying him as the pirate responsible for his diving accident and for stealing the ship-in-a-bottle. He explained that Andrew had been investigating him and was a cunning individual who had managed to evade the police.
Ye Hai also shared his suspicion that Dr. C was likely in Andrew's custody, suggesting this was connected to the Poseidon experiment and the hydro discovery made by his grandfather and Jiang Zhi. An Fei, worried about Ye Hai's safety, offered to help him find Dr. C. Ye Hai, however, changed the subject, stating there was a more important matter he needed to address.
He then confessed his profound love for An Fei, clarifying that these feelings were genuinely his and not a result of Poseidon's influence. He proposed they start their relationship anew and asked for a kiss.
