> Resumos de Meteor Garden 2018
After seeing Caina off, Meizuo, heartbroken, reflects on his unrequited love. He recalls Caina’s dream of a treehouse; she disliked "cage-like rooms" and had always wanted one. He had meticulously designed an elaborate, two-part, egg-shaped treehouse with connected living and bedrooms, even showing the detailed plans. Despite his efforts, he ultimately decided he couldn't be the one to give it to her, hoping it would still bring her happiness.
Caina rushes to the airport, distraught, only to learn that Ye Mingchuan has already accepted a new job and left for the United States. She cries, believing she has missed him, but then turns to find Ye Mingchuan standing behind her, smiling. She playfully chides him for leaving her, lamenting that their house renovation isn't even complete. Ye Mingchuan calmly presents an airline ticket, explaining he was waiting for her, hoping she would join him.
He admits he didn't know for sure that she would appear, just as he once thought his initial feelings for her had vanished. He asserts he was doing everything he could and the rest was "just waiting." Caina asks when he would stop waiting, and he replies, "Until you feel happy being with me." Convinced, they embrace and kiss. For seven days after Caina and Ye Mingchuan get together, Meizuo remains consumed by his heartbreak.
When Ximen tries to cheer him up by explaining the psychological stages of a breakup, Meizuo retorts that he is more shocked, conflicted, and angry than ever, questioning why he should accept the situation. He accuses Ximen of lacking sympathy. Meanwhile, Huaze Lei is also in a somber mood, still worried about Daoming Si and Shancai. He feels Daoming Si should be asking about Shancai, not the other way around.
Daoming Si enters the classroom with his usual stone-cold expression, showing a much stronger reaction to his breakup than Meizuo. Elsewhere, Shancai struggles with her feelings. She finds herself constantly avoiding Daoming Si at school, admitting to Li Zhen that she isn't ready to face him. Li Zhen advises her that if she truly wants to cut ties, she should do so directly instead of hiding, which only makes things more complicated.
Shancai, who has been back for two weeks and caught up on her studies, declares that she has "nothing to do with him" anymore. She recalls telling Xiaoyou about a past conversation where she had to tell Daoming Si she couldn't continue their relationship because his mother had threatened Qinghe and Xiaoyou's fathers' jobs. She had decided then to sever all ties with the Daoming family, a decision Daoming Si couldn't accept.
Back in the present, Shancai claims to be fine, eating well and sleeping soundly, but Xiaoyou sees her distraction and urges her not to give up on Daoming Si. Shancai insists it isn't that simple, admitting she feels "tired" of the constant turmoil in their relationship.
She resolves to return to her original feelings of dislike for Daoming Si, convincing herself that she "didn't like him at all" when they first met, and that everything should go "back to the beginning," as if nothing had ever happened. Huaze Lei decides he cannot stand by and watch. He confronts Daoming Si on the rooftop, demanding to know his true feelings for Shancai and if he still wants to be with her.
Daoming Si vehemently insists they have "no relationship" and he will no longer care about her. Lei reminds him of his promise not to interfere unless Daoming Si and Shancai were truly over. Lei then formally declares his intention to pursue Shancai, demanding Daoming Si's blessing, just as he had blessed Daoming Si in the past. Daoming Si, visibly annoyed, dismisses it as a threat or a challenge, saying Lei doesn't need to inform him of his actions.
Lei, however, stresses the importance of their F4 friendship and reiterates his request for a blessing, even offering to settle it with a fight. Daoming Si remains dismissive, telling Lei to "do whatever you want" and that there is no need to tell him anything. As Daoming Si walks away, Lei calls out, "Leave Shancai to me." The next day, Daoming Si abruptly confronts Shancai by the campus lake.
He accuses her of making being with him painful, of disappearing to the fishing village to sell squid without a word, and of constantly making excuses instead of being honest about her feelings. Shancai tries to defend herself, saying she enjoyed the simple life in the fishing village and had only left because Qinghe and Xiaoyou were in trouble. Daoming Si, however, refuses to listen, calling her reasons "excuses" and expressing how "stupid" he felt for tolerating her evasiveness.
As Shancai starts to cry and tries to express her true feelings, Daoming Si coldly cuts her off, telling her not to cry because he will "not do anything for you anymore." He declares that they should be "strangers" and that she no longer needs to hide from him at school. He formally breaks up with her. As Daoming Si turns to leave, Shancai calls his name and hands him the meteor necklace he had given her.
After a moment, Daoming Si angrily throws the precious necklace into the lake and walks away. Overwhelmed, Shancai immediately jumps into the cold water, desperately searching for it. Internally, she cries out, "Daoming Si, I like you!" She realizes she had almost confessed her love earlier, almost sacrificing her friends' families and her own pride. Huaze Lei arrives and, seeing her distress, helps her find the necklace.
Holding it, Shancai weeps, understanding the profound pain of loving someone, a pain that is almost unbearable. Huaze Lei comforts her with a warm embrace. Later, Daoming Si drowns his sorrows with Ximen and Meizuo, feigning happiness and loudly "celebrating" Huaze Lei and Shancai's new relationship. He claims to be sober and clearer than ever, but his friends know he is merely trying to escape his pain.
Ximen and Meizuo warn him that if he truly gives up Shancai now, especially to Lei, he might lose both love and friendship. Daoming Si maintains his indifference. Meanwhile, Huaze Lei takes Shancai to the rooftop, believing she needs to release her suppressed emotions to face reality and make clear choices. Though Shancai initially resists, calling herself "Weed Shancai," Lei encourages her to vent her sadness, grievances, and pain into the open sky. She eventually does, shouting out her frustrations.
Lei then comforts her, telling her to relax, rest, and "just be yourself," promising to always be by her side. Back at school, Ximen and Meizuo confront Huaze Lei. Ximen questions why Lei, who usually avoids trouble, has gotten involved, accusing him of using Shancai as a substitute for Tengtang Jing. Meizuo initially defends Lei, but Ximen presses the point.
Lei refutes the accusation, asserting that Shancai is not a substitute and no one can be replaced, as they are "two complete individuals." He then tells Ximen and Meizuo to stop arguing with him and instead remind Daoming Si not to "avoid reality and himself." That evening, Ms. Yu, missing Shancai's help and company, calls her and playfully scolds her for not visiting since returning from the fishing village. She demands Shancai meet her for dinner at Suzhehui Restaurant.
During their meal, Ms. Yu teases Shancai but eventually asks about her relationship with Daoming Si. Shancai tearfully confesses that they have "officially broken up" and have "no relationship" anymore. Ms. Yu is surprised, asking if Shancai has given up. Shancai explains that she cannot win against Daoming Si's mother, feeling "powerless," and believes she wouldn't bring Daoming Si happiness. Rationally, she feels she should stay away from him.
Ms. Yu initially calls her "a loser" and "irresponsible" but quickly changes her tone, acknowledging the immense difficulty of Shancai's choices. She praises Shancai for her maturity in prioritizing others' happiness and tells her she has done her best. Ms. Yu comforts Shancai, urging her not to be disappointed or blame herself, reminding her, "You owe no one an apology." After dinner, as Ms. Yu is leaving in a taxi, Shancai unexpectedly chases after it, stopping the car.
She wants to tell Ms. Yu her true feelings, hoping at least one person can understand her heart. Shancai confesses that she "really, really likes Daoming Si" and will "never forget everything he did for me." However, she explains that she cannot allow her "selfish love" to "hurt everyone around me." She concludes that she cannot continue the cycle of breaking up and getting back together and has decided to "end all this." Left alone, Shancai silently wishes Daoming Si well, acknowledging their different worlds, and resolving to return to being friends with a normal heart.
