Daoming Si reminisced about New Year's Eve when he made his third confession to Shancai, a memory that brought a smile to his face. Meanwhile, Shancai and Xiaoyou were enjoying a walk, sharing photos from their trip to Canada. Xiaoyou noted that Qinghe seemed a bit upset about not joining them. They then received a message about their high school reunion, and both eagerly anticipated seeing their old classmates, especially Yan Zibu, a lively character from their past.
At the same time, Daoming Si and Huaze Lei were playing video games when Jing video-called Huaze Lei. Feeling awkward about their past, Huaze Lei let Daoming Si speak to her. Daoming Si, seizing the opportunity, asked Jing about her engagement to the French mayor. Jing revealed that the engagement had been canceled due to her commitment to her career and dreams.
Daoming Si was overjoyed, and even Huaze Lei felt a glimmer of hope that he might have another chance with Jing now that she was single again. Later, the F4 members gathered, discussing their Canada trip. Meizuo and Ximen complained about being bombarded by girls regarding the trip, and also about Qinghe's grumbling. While checking social media, Ximen stumbled upon photos posted by Xiaoyou, showing Shancai at her high school reunion.
Upon seeing Shancai surrounded by other male classmates, Daoming Si, overcome with possessiveness, immediately abandoned his friends and rushed to the restaurant where the reunion was taking place. At the reunion, the classmates were playing a game where the loser had to drink a foul-tasting concoction. Shancai, unfortunately, lost and was chosen. Before she could drink it, Yan Zibu stepped in, offering to drink it on her behalf. Just then, Daoming Si burst into the restaurant.
Without a word, he snatched the drink and boldly announced to everyone that he was her boyfriend. Shancai, however, quickly clarified that he was just a senior from her university, causing Daoming Si some embarrassment. Yan Zibu, clearly provoked, put his arm around Shancai in a challenging gesture, which only fueled Daoming Si's anger. Daoming Si then disparaged the gathering as a "low-quality party" with "low-quality friends," insisting that Shancai leave with him to avoid losing her "class."
Enraged by his insults, Shancai turned away from him. Yan Zibu escalated the tension by telling Daoming Si to get lost, leading to a heated brawl between the two men. Yan Zibu was injured in the fight, and the reunion abruptly ended. Despite the chaos he caused, Daoming Si stubbornly refused to admit any wrongdoing, maintaining that he had merely rescued Shancai from her "trash friends." This unrepentant attitude pushed Shancai to her limit.
She slapped him and declared that she hated him, leaving Daoming Si alone in the now-empty restaurant. Shancai was deeply distraught, her anticipated reunion ruined by Daoming Si. She visited Yan Zibu in the hospital to check on him and apologize for the incident. There, she met his half-brother, Shunping, a polite and mild-mannered freshman at Mingde University, studying Mining.
Shunping initially spoke negatively about his brother, implying Yan Zibu's injury was due to his own troublemaking, but Shancai defended Yan Zibu's character, explaining his kindness in high school. Impressed by Shancai, Shunping asked to be her friend. Meanwhile, Daoming Si, though regretting his impulsive behavior, struggled to genuinely apologize. His F4 friends tried to coach him through an apology, but he found the words too sentimental and was still convinced he was in the right.
They warned him that if they were Shancai, they would never forgive him. The next day at school, Daoming Si waited for Shancai outside her class, hoping to apologize. He tried to engage Qinghe, who was still annoyed at Daoming Si for ruining the reunion. When Shancai arrived, she deliberately ignored Daoming Si and walked into class with Qinghe, further infuriating Daoming Si, who perceived her actions as rude. Later, Shancai encountered Shunping in the library.
They chatted, and Shunping continued to lament his brother's injury, suggesting it was from a fight rather than a fall. Shancai again defended Yan Zibu, praising his helpful nature during high school. Shunping, touched by her kindness, expressed his admiration and desire to be friends, a sentiment Shancai reciprocated, playfully calling him "her brother." As they were leaving the library, they overheard F4 still trying to persuade Daoming Si to apologize.
Daoming Si, in his stubbornness, lashed out, mocking Shancai, calling her "fierce," "unfeminine," "short-thighed," and comparing her to a "frog." Overhearing these insults, Shunping impulsively shouted, "Daoming Si, you big idiot!" Shancai, fearing Daoming Si's reaction, quickly dragged Shunping away. They ran until they felt safe, both feeling a sense of catharsis. Shunping confessed that he wished he had met Shancai when he first came to Mingde, and complimented her cycling and cooking skills, offering to cook for her sometime.
As they bought roasted corn, a treat Shancai remembered from high school, Shunping offered to accompany her whenever she wanted to go for a stroll or eat corn. He then playfully snatched her corn and called them "besties," prompting Shancai to remind him he was a boy. Shunping, however, insisted on calling her "bro," and promised to protect her from Daoming Si. Just then, Daoming Si appeared. Seeing Shancai and Shunping together, Daoming Si demanded to know who Shunping was.
Shunping, seizing the opportunity to provoke him, declared Shancai was his girlfriend and taunted Daoming Si, calling him an "unweaned child" who couldn't function without Shancai and implied she was happier with him. Daoming Si, enraged, grabbed Shunping by the neck. Shancai, at her breaking point, screamed for him to stop, expressing that she felt suffocated by his constant outbursts. Shunping pulled Shancai away from the escalating situation.
As they walked away, Daoming Si, his voice filled with desperation, shouted a passionate confession: he liked her, he was inexplicably obsessed with her, he saw only her, and he would chase her no matter how far she ran, even to Mars. The next day, Shunping sought out Shancai and, under the guise of friendship, apologized for calling her his girlfriend to spite Daoming Si.
He then advised her to end her relationship with Daoming Si, asserting that Daoming Si was "not a good man" and "too extreme." Shancai, while acknowledging Daoming Si's volatile temper, quietly believed that he wasn't truly bad. Shunping then mentioned that some of his friends, who knew Daoming Si from before, wanted to speak with her. He left to buy drinks, leaving Shancai alone by the lake.
