Resumo do episódio 9 de Mengfei Comes Across
> Resumos de Mengfei Comes Across
Bao Qu found himself in a dream, vigorously pursuing a female assassin who had infiltrated the palace. However, he unintentionally let her escape. Just as he was about to continue the chase, he woke up, lamenting that this was the only time he had come close to catching an assassin all year, and it was merely a dream, leaving him very frustrated.
The next day, Bao Qu came to Fanghua Palace to complain to Mengfei, Consort Yan, Noble Lady Xiao, and Concubine Qu. He lamented that his subordinates refused to listen to him and even called him a coward. They particularly admired his arch-enemy, Eighteen Kill, referring to Eighteen Kill as the Emperor's secret weapon, while seeing Bao Qu himself as an overt good-for-nothing. He felt his subordinates believed Eighteen Kill was highly skilled, while he was just a useless person.
Deeply saddened, Bao Qu pleaded with Mengfei for advice. Mengfei, feeling sympathetic towards Bao Qu, suggested a plan: since his subordinates admired Eighteen Kill, Bao Qu should either befriend him or arrange for Eighteen Kill to publicly act as his subordinate, so that his subordinates would change their perception of Bao Qu. Mengfei then went to the Emperor, requesting to borrow Eighteen Kill to help Bao Qu.
Initially, Mengfei had believed Eighteen Kill was one of the legendary Eighteen Bronze Men, based on Consort Yan's description. However, upon seeing that Eighteen Kill was merely a single masked man, she realized the rumors were not credible. Mengfei informed Eighteen Kill of Bao Qu's admiration. Consequently, Eighteen Kill decided to have a meal with Bao Qu to get acquainted. After the meal, the two men established a deep friendship.
Bao Qu then brought Eighteen Kill before his subordinates, introducing him as his good brother and even his subordinate. However, his subordinates immediately highlighted the stark contrast, commenting, "Eighteen Kill is so amazing, but sir, your martial arts are so rubbish!" This severe criticism dealt a heavy blow to Bao Qu, leaving him deeply dejected and moody. Later, Mengfei devised another plan: Noble Lady Xiao would pretend to be an assassin for Bao Qu to capture and showcase his abilities.
The Emperor was also aware of this plan, and on a dark and windy night, they all gathered to watch Bao Qu catch the "thief." Soon, an assassin appeared, but this was a real assassin, not Noble Lady Xiao in disguise. However, Bao Qu remained oblivious, even thinking Noble Lady Xiao was so dedicated that she had changed her voice for the act. The assassin was quickly apprehended.
The female assassin then claimed she was forced into the palace and her main purpose was to submit a petition to the Emperor. To successfully conclude the staged act, Bao Qu declared he would release the assassin and personally take responsibility for any repercussions. Watching from the side, the Emperor was furious with Bao Qu, calling him a "fool" and "brainless," and also complained about Mengfei's flawed plan.
Mengfei, in fact, had already grown suspicious the moment the assassin spoke, realizing it might not be Noble Lady Xiao. It was only after seeing the first female assassin released and then a second assassin appear that she fully realized the first one had been a genuine intruder. Upon the appearance of the second assassin, Bao Qu finally realized his grave error: the first assassin was real. He immediately dashed off in pursuit of the released female assassin.
During their confrontation, he removed her veil, revealing the very same beautiful woman from his dream. The breeze gently swept through her hair, instantly captivating Bao Qu. The Emperor, still observing, continued to be furious with Bao Qu, criticizing him as "brainless," and also expressing his displeasure with Mengfei's flawed plan. Bao Qu returned crestfallen, and his subordinates, seeing his dejected state, immediately knew that the coward had let the assassin escape again.
However, Bao Qu paid them no mind, still completely lost in the captivating image of the female assassin. Later, the Emperor clarified the matter and redressed the female assassin's grievances. Meanwhile, Bao Qu remained fixated on the female assassin. During a conversation with Physician Liu, Bao Qu suddenly spotted Yin Susu. He immediately ran over to express his feelings to her. However, Susu simply thanked him for his help, then revealed that she already had a fiancé.
With that, she walked out of the palace gates. As she exited, Yin Susu looked back once more, realizing he had not followed her, and murmured, "Perhaps we really are not fated."
