The inner palace was abuzz with the arrival of a new princess from an enemy state for a marriage alliance. However, Meng Fei in Fanghua Palace remained unfazed. While out for a stroll, Meng Fei encountered several other consorts who greeted her with unexpected warmth, eager to befriend her.

Feeling resistant, Meng Fei instructed her personal maid, Yan Er, to list her four peculiar hobbies: scratching her head, picking her ears, digging her nostrils, and massaging her feet, hoping to deter them. This made the consorts quite embarrassed, but they still promised to visit Fanghua Palace. Meng Fei was baffled by their persistence, wondering why they still sought her out after such a display.

Back at Fanghua Palace, Meng Fei discussed the strange encounters with Consort Yan and Consort Qu. Consort Yan clarified that the consorts’ sudden interest wasn't due to Meng Fei's charm, but rather the rising fame of her elder brother, General Bu Yue. Meng Fei expressed disbelief, annoyed that her brother was being praised so highly. Consort Yan and Consort Qu expressed a strong desire to meet Bu Yue, who happened to be in the palace.

So, they all went to Changji Hall, where Bu Yue was currently meeting with His Majesty. Outside Changji Hall, Bu Yue greeted Meng Fei affectionately, calling her his "good Mengmei." He playfully urged her to bear him a "big nephew" soon. Meng Fei immediately countered, listing his many past romantic entanglements and calling him a "typical scumbag." Bu Yue, however, took great pride in the title, which infuriated Meng Fei.

After Bu Yue departed, Consort Yan and Consort Qu, who had been hiding nearby, emerged, marveling at his "personality," much to Meng Fei’s utter speechlessness. The following day, as Meng Fei was tending to her birds in Fanghua Palace, Consort Yan burst in with news.

She reported seeing Bu Yue chatting animatedly with the Fat Princess at her residence, their conversation flowing so well it seemed they might become sworn siblings, and she asked if Meng Fei wanted to go see. Consort Yan added that Bu Yue had been visiting the palace frequently, moving slowly when summoned by His Majesty but quickly when going to see the princess. Both Consort Yan and Consort Qu suspected Bu Yue had fallen for the Fat Princess.

Meng Fei found it hard to believe but was nonetheless worried. They decided to investigate together. Upon arriving at the Fat Princess's residence, they witnessed Bu Yue fixing a swing for the princess, then sitting beside her and pushing her. Meng Fei, unable to remain calm, wanted to intervene, but Consort Yan restrained her, suggesting they throw pebbles to alert the couple to their presence. Meng Fei, Consort Yan, and Consort Qu each threw a pebble.

However, Bu Yue skillfully blocked the stones and then began teaching the princess a game with rocks, chatting and laughing, which only further infuriated Meng Fei and left her speechless. Meng Fei, convinced she had to intervene, confronted Bu Yue and warned him to stay away from the princess. However, Bu Yue, deeply in love, declared that he couldn't let go of Princess Zha Zha, and then he left.

Soon after, Meng Fei learned that Bu Yue and the princess had eloped. Distraught, she rushed to Changji Hall to apologize to His Majesty and pledged to retrieve her brother. His Majesty was not angry and granted her permission to search for Bu Yue. Meng Fei embarked on a search, visiting all the typical haunts favored by men, including brothels like Chunfeng Deyilou, but Bu Yue was nowhere to be found.

She then ran into Zhen Shishuang, to whom she explained the situation. Zhen Shishuang astutely suggested that if Bu Yue had truly eloped, he wouldn't be in such prominent places but rather a remote inn. After an extensive search, they finally located Bu Yue at the Guluo Inn. Bu Yue attempted to flee, but Zhen Shishuang helped Meng Fei apprehend him and bring him back to the inn. As Meng Fei was persuading her brother, His Majesty unexpectedly appeared.

He revealed the truth: Princess Zha Zha was not the real princess but merely her maid. Bu Yue was heartbroken by the deception. Despite his disappointment, he still offered the maid money, empathizing with her plight and promising to help her if she encountered future difficulties. Meng Fei comforted her crestfallen brother. Later, Meng Fei and Zhen Shishuang conversed on a bridge. At the end of their conversation, Zhen Shishuang gave Meng Fei a hairpin. Upon their return to the inn, His Majesty saw the hairpin and became noticeably jealous again. He also kissed Meng Fei, which surprised her greatly.
