The drama is set in Republican-era Shanghai.
Xu Yanzhen, a skilled orphan painter, unexpectedly crosses paths with Jiang Xinyu, the chief accountant of a bank who is caught in a dangerous situation. Jiang Xinyu has been framed and has no choice but to form a risky alliance with Xu Yanzhen.
Meanwhile, the bank plans to sell a priceless national treasure painting to foreigners at a low price. Using her exceptional painting skills, Xu Yanzhen creates a flawless forgery and swaps it for the real one.
After many twists and turns, the two join forces, skillfully navigating among various powerful factions, facing dangers together, and overcoming numerous obstacles.
