Eight years after their breakup, Jiang Nanshan (Natalie Shaw) and He Beizheng (Zachary Grant) cross paths again. By then, she has become a talented yet reserved dentist, while he unexpectedly arrives at her clinic accompanied by a woman Jiang Nanshan assumes is his new girlfriend. Convinced that they have long moved on with their lives, she keeps her distance and buries her lingering feelings.
However, a matchmaking event that unexpectedly goes viral sparks a series of misunderstandings, forcing both of them to confront the emotions they have kept hidden for years.
