Sinopsis
Civil service exam instructor Chen Wen (William Carter) transmigrates into the body of an impoverished scholar and founds Zhizhi Academy. Using logical teaching methods and personalized instruction, he mentors students such as Gu Ci (Charles Goodman) and Zhang Chengzong.
He introduces techniques like mistake notebooks and weekly assessments, helping his disciples dominate the imperial examinations: sweeping the top three places in the county exam, taking five of the top spots in the prefectural exam, and placing all six candidates in the top ten of the provincial academy exam.
Chen Wen also promotes tax reform trials in Ningyang, earning support from County Magistrate Sun Zhigao and Prefect Li Deyu, while gaining the recognition of imperial inspector Lu Bingqian. With his innovative educational philosophy and the success of his reforms, Chen Wen ultimately rises to become a highly respected master teacher.
