Lin Zhiwei (Lin Zhiwei) is a corporate executive earning over a million annually. A year ago, when her husband begged her to save his mother, she didn’t hesitate to cover the targeted medication costs of 150,000 yuan per month. On the very first day after her C-section discharge, her mother-in-law drove away the postpartum nanny, stuck a payment QR code by her bedside, and listed charges for everything—from 50 yuan for plain porridge, 10 yuan for diaper changes, to a “bloodline maintenance fee” for outsiders taking care of her child—while her husband turned a blind eye.
