Lin Wanxing and Wang Fa accompanied Qin Ao back to his father's storefront. The moment they arrived, Qin's father, already anxious and angry, began to scold his son for staying out late without making a phone call. Qin Ao defiantly retorted that he had gone to lay bricks, just as his father had always predicted he would, and declared he would never spend another cent of his father's money.

To defuse the brewing argument, Lin Wanxing quickly intervened, pretending she was hungry, and asked Qin Ao to go buy some snacks for her. Once Qin Ao left, his father apologized to the teachers, expressing how difficult it was to raise the boy alone after his mother passed away. He admitted he only beat Qin Ao to force him to apologize and save his future, believing a few blows would be quickly forgotten.

Lin Wanxing firmly disagreed, explaining that children never forget such moments. She shared her own childhood trauma, recalling how her father's lack of trust had left an enduring shadow that stripped away her courage in the face of future hardships.

Wang Fa added that parents' words could shape a child's entire life, pointing out that despite Qin Ao's rebellion, the first thing he did was work at a construction site because his father had constantly told him he was only good for laying bricks. They urged Mr. Qin to show his son some genuine affection before leaving. When Qin Ao returned, his father did not yell at him.

Instead, he quietly sat his son down to apply medicine to his injured hands. Showing a rare moment of tenderness, his father then offered to walk down the street to buy Qin Ao's favorite meatballs and a bowl of wheat vermicelli, leaving Qin Ao surprised but comforted by the silent gesture of love. Determined to clear Qin Ao's name, Lin Wanxing took a sick day to investigate the situation.

She called Director Qian and discovered that Gu Yihao's parents were street vegetable vendors, and his father suffered from a physical disability. This background had made Gu Yihao the target of severe bullying by Wu Yunqi from Class 4, and the boy had lied to the school out of fear of retaliation. Wanting to help Gu Yihao find his confidence while also proving Qin Ao's innocence, Lin Wanxing came up with a creative plan.

She bought temporary tattoo stickers of a green dragon and a white tiger, testing them on Wang Fa's arms in his tank top, planning to have him pass as Gu Yihao's tough relative. The next day, Wu Yunqi and his gang cornered Gu Yihao again, trying to force a dirty lollipop into his mouth. Just as they were about to strike, Wang Fa intervened by throwing a football directly at Wu Yunqi's head.

Wang Fa claimed to be Gu Yihao's cousin who had just returned from Yongchuan, and Gu Yihao quickly played along, loudly confirming the relationship. Intimidated by Wang Fa's imposing presence, Wu Yunqi and his friends apologized and scurried away. Lin Wanxing then approached Gu Yihao, assuring him that they would report the bullying to the school and stand by him, leaving the choice to clear Qin Ao's name entirely up to his own courage. Gu Yihao chose to be brave.

Lin Wanxing led Gu Yihao to the principal's office, where Gu Yihao truthfully confessed to the ongoing bullying he faced due to his family's background. He explained how Wu Yunqi targeted him in blind spots without cameras, and how only Qin Ao and Lin Lu had tried to protect him. Deeply moved, the principal promised to take action.

Soon after, a school-wide radio announcement commended Qin Ao and Lin Lu for their bravery, while the school established a dedicated workgroup to investigate and eliminate campus bullying. Proud of their cleared names, Qin Ao and his teammates confidently declared to their classmates that the football team were heroes, challenging everyone to wait for the upcoming monthly exam results.

After days of relentless effort, the exhaustion caught up with Lin Wanxing, and she developed a high fever on her way home. Wang Fa took her back to her apartment, but upon finding her medicine expired, he quickly ordered a delivery and placed a cooling patch on her forehead. While she rested, Wang Fa noticed her laptop was open on her desk.

He clicked on her QQ chat log and was shocked to see that Lin Wanxing's username was Spade Q, the very name associated with the death of the star player, Jason. When Wang Fa went into her bedroom to give her the medicine, a delirious Lin Wanxing mumbled in her sleep, crying out that she had not done those terrible things and begging him not to leave Hongjing. Wang Fa gently comforted her and promised he would stay.

The next day, he shared the discovery of the QQ account with Felix Yu. Although Felix Yu immediately suspected her, Wang Fa argued that there must be two different people using the Spade Q username. He pointed out that the chat history with Jason contained two drastically different personalities: one kind and supportive, and another sinister and manipulative.

Since Lin Wanxing's logs had several missing messages compared to the copy retrieved from Jason's device, Wang Fa concluded that someone had hacked her account to communicate with Jason and then selectively deleted the messages to frame her. He instructed Felix Yu to research similar cases of targeted star players. The next morning, Wang Fa left a warm bowl of pumpkin millet porridge and medicine for Lin Wanxing.

Once her fever broke, she returned to the Yuanyuan Tutoring Center to help the team prepare for their monthly exams. The players noticed a dramatic change in Qin Ao, who was now studying relentlessly and even copying ancient poetry. Lin Wanxing spent the final days predicting exam questions for the team as the countdown to the exam steadily decreased.

On the day the results were published, the tense atmosphere was broken when the team members ran into the school's radio station. They hijacked the broadcast to announce that every single football player had successfully ranked in the top 500. Qin Ao took the microphone to proudly share his rank of 478th, and they all publicly expressed their gratitude to Lin Wanxing over the speakers. Watching from the playground, Lin Wanxing was moved to tears.

Wang Fa offered his clothes for her to dry her eyes, which she playfully declined before the boys ran back onto the field to celebrate with a scrimmage. That evening, as Lin Wanxing and Wang Fa walked home together, Wang Tian suddenly stopped her car next to them. Wang Fa told Lin Wanxing to head home first and agreed to speak with his sister over a bowl of local wontons.

Wang Tian had brought along Zhang Chao, the manager of Hengjiu Youth Football, who attempted to recruit Wang Fa by highlighting their elite roster and resources. Wang Fa firmly rejected the offer, stating he had no intention of joining Hengjiu, and asked Zhang Chao to leave so the siblings could talk privately. When Wang Tian demanded to know why he insisted on staying at Hongjing High School, she accused him of being in love with Lin Wanxing. Wang Fa quietly admitted it, leaving his sister speechless.
