Patent Payback is a Chinese short drama starring Fei Liqi and Wang Xinxin.

Chief Engineer Zhou Jingyuan (James Carter) was betrayed by his wife, Lin Wantang (Victoria Lane), who joined forces with her lover, Shen Zi'ang, to seize control of the company and force him out. Refusing to be defeated, Zhou quietly set his plan in motion. He reclaimed the 35 core patents registered under his name, terminated their licensing rights, and demanded massive compensation for unauthorized use of his technology.
Meanwhile, Lin Wantang and Shen Zi'ang grew increasingly arrogant. Their attempts to maintain control were plagued by a series of scandals, including fabricated connections, technological fraud, and malicious smear campaigns. As the truth came to light, their reputations collapsed and the company spiraled toward disaster.
With Xinghai Group on the brink of bankruptcy, desperate shareholders begged Zhou Jingyuan to return. He ultimately resumed control of the company, removed Lin Wantang from power, and ensured Shen Zi'ang faced legal consequences. After reclaiming the group's shares and authority, Zhou finalized his divorce and led the company back to prominence through his unmatched engineering expertise, proving that true innovation is the foundation of lasting success.
