Modern forensic examiner Jiang Yiyi is transported back in time and awakens as an imperial consort destined to be buried alongside a deceased emperor. Relying on her professional expertise, she uncovers a fake-death conspiracy and narrowly escapes her fate. After becoming entangled with Emperor Su Cangmo while seeking a cure for a mysterious affliction, she flees the palace, leaving the furious emperor to launch a nationwide search for her.
Jiang Yiyi later gives birth to a son, Jiang Xiaoyuan, and survives by disguising herself as a man and working as a coroner.
