A bright and lively flight attendant, Jiang Tang (Emily Rivers), unexpectedly travels back to the 1980s and finds herself in the body of an overweight, unwanted young pregnant woman. The original owner of the body had schemed her way into marrying airline captain Lu Yanli (James Carter).
After the time slip, Jiang Tang relies on her own strength and sincerity to win over her sister-in-law and younger brother-in-law. She entertains the family with stories from Empresses in the Palace, making everyone laugh, and impresses her mother-in-law with her professional cabin crew skills, gradually changing the family’s perception of her. She also skillfully defuses the schemes of Su Xinyue.
Meanwhile, Lu Yanli slowly falls in love with Jiang Tang through their daily life together. At work, he is a cold, ascetic, and distant captain; at home, he becomes a clingy, gentle, and loyal “golden retriever” husband. By the time Jiang Tang realizes it, she is already firmly trapped in Lu Yanli’s carefully woven affection, unable to escape.
