Lu Yuheng was demonstrating a romantic gesture he had learned online, pinning Lin Xiaodi against the wall, when a knock at the door interrupted them. Lin Xiaodi thought it was Han Ruibing returning after forgetting something and offered to open the door, but Lu Yuheng, annoyed by the interruption, told her not to.
He said Han Ruibing and Silly had just had a fight, and they shouldn't make things worse, but Lu Yuheng argued they "should" be given a push so they learn not to bother them, and insisted they continue their moment. When the knocking persisted, Lin Xiaodi tried to open the door again, but Lu Yuheng playfully held her back, insisting they go together. As they opened the door, a voice said, "Give me a hug, Xiaodi."
To Lin Xiaodi's shock, it was her father. Her father, who had returned to the country without warning, was furious to see Lin Xiaodi and Lu Yuheng in such an intimate position. He immediately pushed Lu Yuheng aside, asking, "Who's your dad? Let her go! What are you doing?" Lin Xiaodi tried to calm him down and explain, but her father was angry that she hadn't told him about her return.

Lu Yuheng, however, insisted on facing the challenge, declaring that he had overcome many difficult situations and was confident he could win over her father. He further added that he had never been hit by a parent before, and it felt "pretty good," because her family was now his family, and they could do whatever they wanted to him.
After Lu Yuheng and Lin Xiaodi left, her parents were alone. Her father then revealed that his angry outburst was all an act to test Lu Yuheng and warn him not to bully Lin Xiaodi in the future. He boasted about his acting skills. He recalled how Lin Xiaodi had looked at Lu Yuheng and felt a pang of sadness, lamenting that his "cabbage" (daughter) was being "stolen."
His wife jokingly suggested that Lin Xiaodi might bring them a grandson in the future, and they could even decide who would raise him. They solidified their plan to play "good cop, bad cop" (one red face, one white face) when dealing with Lu Yuheng, though his wife warned him not to go too far with his "punishments." Meanwhile, at the studio, Liu Yan was distraught after breaking up with Han Ruibing.
Lu Yuheng tried to comfort him, offering him water and telling him to pull himself together. Liu Yan confessed that he didn't want to lose Han Ruibing, leaned into Lu Yuheng's arms, and cried, feeling he wasn't good enough for her. Liu Yan suggested that Zhao Muran, who knew Lin Xiaodi's family well, could provide valuable insights. Lu Yuheng also revealed to Liu Yan that Lin Xiaodi was his "Little Star" from childhood, a revelation that surprised Liu Yan. Zhao Muran, having parted ways with Zhao Jinxuan, was experiencing a career slump, constantly facing rejections for acting roles.
When Lu Yuheng showed up at his door, Zhao Muran, recognizing him as a love rival and already frustrated with his own situation, tried to send him away. Lu Yuheng, however, insisted on staying, wanting to "seek shelter" and jokingly asking for the cleanest room. Zhao Muran teased him about being "chased out" by Mr. Lin. Seizing the opportunity, Zhao Muran proposed a deal to Lu Yuheng: if Lu Yuheng accompanied him to meet Zhao Jinxuan and acted as his underling, praising him to the skies, Zhao Muran would share all of Mr. Lin's preferences. Lu Yuheng, though initially hesitant, agreed to the terms.
At their meeting with Zhao Jinxuan, Zhao Muran put on an elaborate show with Lu Yuheng playing the submissive "underling" role, even serving tea and confirming Zhao Muran's fabricated popularity, claiming "more than 70 people" had recently sought to cast him. Zhao Jinxuan played along, offering Zhao Muran a supporting role in a period drama, then pretending to retract the offer, implying Zhao Muran was now too busy and successful for such a minor part.
Zhao Muran, not wanting to lose the opportunity, quickly accepted the role and boasted about his acting prowess, delaying the contract termination until after filming. After successfully securing the role and outwitting Zhao Jinxuan, Zhao Muran happily disclosed Mr. Lin's likes and dislikes to Lu Yuheng, as per their agreement.
He warned Lu Yuheng that Mr. Lin detested unmanly men, sharing an anecdote of how he once almost had his legs broken for acting cute and asking Lin Xiaodi for help. Meanwhile, Liu Yan visited his grandmother at the nursing home and found Han Ruibing there, compassionately tending to her.
Liu Yan, watching from afar, was deeply touched by her kindness and his grandmother's trust in her, especially as he observed Han Ruibing paying for a year of overdue care, arranging for a senior caregiver, and buying expensive nutritional supplements for his grandmother. However, when Han Ruibing emerged, he coldly confronted her, thanking her but asking her not to come back. He explained that as a man, he wanted to protect and care for her, not become a burden.
Misunderstanding his intentions, Han Ruibing believed he was blaming her for interfering, expressing her apologies and stating that their relationship was over anyway. Liu Yan tried to clarify that he meant he wanted to protect her, not receive charity, but the damage was done, and Han Ruibing concluded that since they had broken up, it no longer mattered. Armed with Zhao Muran's detailed intel, Lu Yuheng returned to the Lin family home.
During dinner, Lin Xiaodi's father tried to challenge him, even offering him a bank card, which he explicitly called a "breakup fee." Lu Yuheng, however, calmly accepted it as "Xiaodi's dowry," asking if Mr. Lin had any other requests. Confused, Mr. Lin reiterated it was a "breakup fee," but Lu Yuheng cleverly interpreted it as a sign of acceptance and goodwill. Lin Xiaodi mediated, suggesting they enjoy their meal.
As the family enjoyed pomegranates, Mr. Lin again tried to provoke Lu Yuheng, mocking him for letting Lin Xiaodi peel the fruit and boasting about his own history of peeling pomegranates for his daughter. Lu Yuheng responded by asserting his willingness to do anything for Lin Xiaodi and proposed a pomegranate peeling contest: each would peel three, and the loser would grant the winner one wish. Lu Yuheng, starting later but using a more efficient method, won the contest.
Lin Xiaodi, assuming his wish, declared that Lu Yuheng wanted her father to stop disliking him. However, Lu Yuheng stated that Mr. Lin could continue to dislike him and test him, as he would always treat Lin Xiaodi well. He expressed his conviction that time and action would prove his sincerity, making Mr. Lin trust him completely and entrust Lin Xiaodi to him without worry. He then told Mr. Lin, "I know you love Xiaodi very much. Me too. I've actually loved her longer than you. When I fell for Xiaodi, she wasn't your Lin Xiaodi yet. She was my Little Star."
