Hua Ming received a phone call from his former mentor, Director Chen, who informed him of a rare and significant opportunity: a fund was looking to invest in a hospital, and they wanted Hua Ming to lead the establishment of a new, powerful medical institution. Director Chen encouraged Hua Ming to seize this chance, which could fulfill his professional aspirations.
While discussing the opportunity, a colleague suggested Hua Ming consider remarrying Xia Qing, citing their shared background and Ruirui's need for a complete family. Hua Ming acknowledged his relationship with Xia Qing was one of close friendship now and clarified they had moved on. Xia Qing tried to deflect, but Xu Ke pressed, revealing that he knew the video was a staged act and that Hua Ming had never truly proposed to her. Ruirui then unexpectedly arrived, further complicating the confrontation.
Ruirui, recognizing Xu Ke, playfully teased him about his feelings for "Sister Xinxin." Xu Ke, frustrated, asserted that he had spoken with Hua Ming, who confirmed he had not proposed to Xia Qing. Xu Ke challenged them to compete fairly for Hua Ming, then left, having paid the bill himself after Xia Qing and Ruirui stormed out. Back at the gallery, Wan Xinxin began covering her paintings with white cloths, preparing to leave. Xu Ke arrived, stopping her packing, and angrily admonished her for giving up so easily. Wan Xinxin, however, felt her life became a mess whenever Xia Qing and Ruirui appeared, and she was simply giving up. Xu Ke reiterated that the video of Hua Ming proposing to Xia Qing was fake and that Hua Ming was merely practicing for his proposal to Wan Xinxin. Ruirui and Xia Qing then conspired to stage a scene to further influence Hua Ming. Ruirui urged Hua Ming to tend to Xia Qing, who feigned a headache and slight fever. Ruirui insisted Hua Ming check Xia Qing's temperature with his lips, just as he used to do for her as a child. Hua Ming complied, confirming a slight fever.
Ruirui then prompted Xia Qing to lean on Hua Ming's shoulder, calling it the most comfortable place, and pleaded with Hua Ming to return to America with them, so they could all care for Xia Qing together. Hua Ming, having already considered Ruirui's heartfelt pleas over the past few days, solidified his decision to go back to America for her schooling.
Xia Qing expressed her gratitude, and Hua Ming explained his decision, mentioning not only Director Chen's advice but also Ruirui's poignant words about wanting a complete family and his happiness. Hua Ming later told Xia Qing that he had packed his bags. Xia Qing acknowledged his feelings for Wan Xinxin but emphasized that marriage requires more than just love.
Hua Ming reflected on how his life had been mundane until Wan Xinxin and her baby brought back passion and youthful feeling. He reiterated his deep affection for Wan Xinxin and gently but firmly told Xia Qing that while they, along with Ruirui, would always be a family, he and Xia Qing could never go back to the past. Wan Xinxin continued packing her luggage, entrusting her baby to Xu Chunli.
Xu Chunli, noticing the engagement ring Wan Xinxin still wore, tried to persuade her to say a proper goodbye to Hua Ming, sensing their enduring feelings. To create an opportunity, Xu Chunli fabricated a story, claiming the baby's favorite bell toy had been left at Hua Ming's house and Wan Xinxin needed to retrieve it herself to practice independence.
Reluctantly, Wan Xinxin returned to Hua Ming's apartment, where she found Hua Ming, Xia Qing, and Ruirui joyfully packing their belongings, preparing to move to America. Hua Ming had already retrieved the bell, intending to mail it to her. Ruirui warmly invited Wan Xinxin to visit them in America. Wan Xinxin then asked Hua Ming when he was leaving, and he quietly replied, "The day after tomorrow." Wan Xinxin and Hua Ming exchanged a long, silent look, their eyes filled with unspoken emotions.
