Sinopse
In the early years of the Republic of China, Zhang Qingquan returns to China after studying abroad. At the time, China is suffering from the chaos of warlords and the encroachment of imperialism.
Zhang Qingquan is full of enthusiasm for the revolutionary cause that he and his classmates have planned, but he never thought he would inherit his master's antique shop and an heirloom national treasure.
Zhang Qingquan is not interested in the national treasure at all, but the emergence of the national treasure, the Golden Cup, has caused various forces to snoop around and seize it. This is also followed by the murder of his master, Lu Songshi, and the rebellion between him and his brother, Wu Chunjiu.
Instead of being defeated, Zhang Qingquan grows stronger and realizes that guarding the national treasure has the same meaning as joining the revolution.
With wisdom and perseverance, Zhang Qingquan and his lover, Fu Gege, fight against the warlords, the feudalists, and the Japanese merchants, guarding the Golden Cup for forty years and finally leaving the national treasure in China.
