He Xiaoran quietly put away her tickets and, pretending everything was fine, began helping him pack, even suggesting a small suitcase so he’d return sooner once his things ran out, and intentionally leaving out his phone charger. Meanwhile, Xiao Shangqi delegated the key projects after the Jifeng Hotel to Lin Zong. Lin Zong encouraged him to go home and spend time with He Xiaoran.
Xiao Shangqi mentioned that He Xiaoran had plans to dine with friends at the loft that night. The next morning, He Xiaoran woke up late and, finding no sign of Xiao Shangqi, assumed he had left without a word. She grumbled to a toy pig about his departure and his failure to leave a note or say when he would return. Just then, Xiao Shangqi walked in with breakfast, having returned from seeing his brother off. He explained that he decided to postpone his Hupu trip by two days.
He clarified that his father wanted him in Hupu to help with the opening of a new six-star Yunlan Hotel, a significant project for their family's hotel management company. He promised to return as soon as his work there was done, reaffirming his decision to stay in Wusu. He then brought out the bracelet He Xiaoran found, explaining it was simply a gift from a friend, just as Chen Fei'er was merely an old friend he no longer contacted.
He openly admitted to having a "crush" on Chen Fei'er in their adolescence but stressed that their current life together was the most real and important. He told He Xiaoran that he knew all her unspoken wishes and plans, and they would spend the day fulfilling all her desires and making up for any regrets.
Later that day, Xiao Shangqi took He Xiaoran out, but their plans were thwarted: the art museum was closed, the season-limited cake was out of stock due to a cold chain issue, and even their movie was suddenly canceled. He Xiaoran found these setbacks ominous and again expressed her concern about whether he would truly return from Hupu.
Xiao Shangqi reassured her, promising they would make up for everything upon his return and emphasizing, "To me, thanks to you, Wusu is my real home." Meanwhile, Tang Yan was living a nocturnal life at his hotel, constantly seeking creative inspiration for his music. Li Hui came to find him and inquired about his progress. Tang Yan decided to take Li Hui to a place that held special meaning for them, hoping it would spark his creativity.
As Li Hui went to buy water, Tang Yan, having suddenly found inspiration, drove off without her, completely engrossed in his newfound ideas. Sui Mingwei unexpectedly encountered Tang Yan alone and, after questioning him, discovered that Li Hui had been left at Riverside Park. Sui Mingwei immediately rode his motorcycle to pick up Li Hui and bring her home. Xiao Shangqi eventually returned to Hupu for work.
He Xiaoran, though busy with her own work, found sweet notes Xiao Shangqi had prepared for her at home, making her smile. Later, Li Hui received a suspicious photo sent by Susan, which made her doubt Tang Yan. She decided to visit his hotel room and found clear evidence of another woman having been there, leading her to conclude that Tang Yan had cheated with Susan in his search for inspiration.
Tang Yan tried to explain that he and Susan had "nothing" and that he was only trying to find "inspiration," assuring Li Hui of his love for her. However, a furious Li Hui refused to believe him, declared their relationship over, and in a fit of rage, smashed his guitar, leaving him reeling as she walked out.
