Sinopse
Wen Su, who was investigating the flood, unexpectedly saved Chen Baoyin, a rural girl from a poor family who was about to be sacrificed to the River God. To pay for her mother's medical treatment, Baoyin voluntarily left home and, after several twists and turns, was sold as a servant to the Wen family. Meanwhile, Wen Su, despite becoming a top scholar, suddenly saw his family fall on hard times.
Facing the capriciousness of fate, Baoyin began working as a boat girl on the Bian River, selling food and wine to make a living. She coincidentally discovered that Wen Su, in order to save his family, had endured humiliation and became a male favorite of the Grand Princess. Amidst their hardships, two lonely hearts gradually grew closer.
