This drama tells the story of Ding Xuekun, the head of the neurology department at the Ninth Hospital, who is dead in an accident. His son Ding Yuanzhi, an elite Western doctor studying in Sweden, and Han Xilin, his Chinese medicine student who has been away for years, return to the Ninth Hospital to investigate together the cause of death.
