Xu Yan (Yvonne Hunt), an adopted daughter of the Xu family, suffers long-term abuse and is eventually used as a political bargaining chip, married off to Qin Lie (Leo Chase), the CEO of the Qin Group. She has quietly loved him for many years, but Qin Lie’s heart has always belonged to Mu Qing, a woman who has just returned from abroad. Realizing that her feelings will never be returned, Xu Yan gives up hope and initiates a divorce.
Only after Xu Yan decisively leaves does Qin Lie realize that he has already fallen deeply in love with her. Qin Lie’s mother, Liu Ning, feels deep sympathy for Xu Yan and supports the divorce, even recognizing her as a goddaughter. After their separation, fate brings Xu Yan and Qin Lie back together. Upon discovering Xu Yan’s hidden devotion and the hardships she endured, Qin Lie begins to pursue her sincerely and protect her, helping her break free from the control of her original family.
In the end, misunderstandings are resolved, emotional wounds are healed, and the two finally reconcile and find happiness together.
