Ruan Yu never expected to meet Xu Huaisong again under such circumstances. Her hands trembled with excitement, and her documents scattered all over the floor. Xu Huaisong, however, pretended to be calm on the surface while his heart was already in turmoil. When Liu Mao asked if they knew each other, they both denied it at the same time. To better help Ruan Yu, Xu Huaisong proposed to understand the specific details of her novel first.
Ruan Yu became nervous, worried that her secret crush on him would be discovered. After some thought, she ultimately decided to drop the lawsuit against the other party. Afterward, Liu Mao warmly invited Ruan Yu to dinner, but Xu Huaisong intentionally dragged Liu Mao away for lunch, clearly unwilling to let Ruan Yu and Liu Mao be alone together.

Meanwhile, Liu Mao had his own hidden agenda, wanting to use the case to get closer to Ruan Yu. Ruan Yu had always had her own idol, Li Shican. Having just felt jealous because of her idol, she unexpectedly ran into Xu Huaisong at the school gate. Seeing him affectionately calling out the name Shishi, she was immediately overcome with jealousy. She stepped forward defiantly and warned Xu Huaisong to stay away from Xu Huaishi.
When she learned the truth—that Xu Huaisong was actually Xu Huaishi's brother—she was mortified and wished she could disappear. While Xu Huaisong was in Su City visiting his sister, he felt a surge of anxiety upon hearing that Liu Mao had dressed up for a date with Ruan Yu. He rushed back to the office, interrupted their date, and stepped into the case without hesitation.
That night, Xu Huaisong nervously checked Ruan Yu's social media page, only to find that strangers could not view her posts, leaving him feeling disappointed. Meanwhile, Ruan Yu sent the defamation records to the work group. Fearing that Xu Huaisong's busy schedule would cause him to miss the group messages, Liu Mao suggested she message him privately. Ruan Yu recalled how she had tried to add him using various names years ago to no avail.
Now that she had to add him, her heart raced with nerves. On the other end, Xu Huaisong was also struggling with a reason to add her. After much deliberation, he simply used the case as an excuse to send the request.
