> Resúmenes de Mengfei Comes Across
As Mengfei was playing in the palace grounds, she suddenly encountered Zhen Shishuang. Just as she prepared to leave, Zhen Shishuang called out to her. He announced that he was about to get married, surprising Mengfei so much that she dropped her pinwheel. He handed her a wedding invitation. Unbeknownst to Mengfei, the Emperor had been watching their entire conversation from atop a palace wall, growing increasingly jealous. Fortunately, they didn't talk for long before parting ways.
Back in Fanghua Palace, Mengfei was distracted and out of sorts, even cracking melon seeds clumsily. Yanfei, noticing her unusual behavior, asked what was wrong. Mengfei confided in her about Zhen Shishuang's wedding invitation, making Yanfei promise not to tell anyone. Yanfei then speculated that Zhen Shishuang must still harbor feelings for Mengfei, suggesting that sending an invitation was his way of gauging her reaction. Mengfei, however, dismissed this idea.
The next day, despite Mengfei's request for secrecy, Noble Lady Xiao and Qu Xiao were also aware of the invitation. Yanfei sheepishly admitted to a momentary slip of the tongue. The three friends discussed the wedding invitation. Just as their discussion became animated, the Emperor arrived unannounced, having instructed his attendants not to inform them. The ladies immediately ceased their conversation upon seeing him, but unfortunately, the Emperor had already overheard.
Displeased, the Emperor turned to leave, but at that moment, Zhen Shishuang's wedding invitation fluttered to his feet. Mengfei quickly tried to explain, but the Emperor, consumed by jealousy, ignored her. Instead, he summoned Yanfei to Changji Palace, instructing her to fix a kite and then fly kites with him. Yanfei, glumly, went to Changji Palace.
After fixing the kite, she accompanied the Emperor in flying kites, a sight that caused immense envy among the other concubines in the imperial garden. The Emperor, still consumed by jealousy over Mengfei's past connection with Zhen Shishuang, initiated a cold war against her. He frequently summoned Yanfei for repairs, sent lavish, exclusive meals to Qu Xiao (specifically forbidding others from eating them), and engaged Noble Lady Xiao in sparring sessions, pointedly excluding Mengfei from his attention.
The constant demands left Yanfei, Qu Xiao, and Noble Lady Xiao feeling extremely annoyed and frustrated, as they clearly recognized the Emperor's actions as a form of indirect punishment against Mengfei. However, Mengfei herself remained oblivious to the Emperor's anger. Mengfei eventually noticed the Emperor's unusual behavior and visited Liu Jinyan at the Imperial Hospital. She said she felt the Emperor had been a bit off lately and asked Liu Jinyan to examine him.
Liu Jinyan immediately promised, and also teased Mengfei, asking if she was together with the Emperor. Mengfei left in a good mood. On her way, she met Zhen Shishuang again and returned the wedding invitation to him, explaining it had caused her too much trouble. Zhen Shishuang then revealed that his fiancée had eloped with her lover. Mengfei expressed surprise, questioning how he, known for his keen observation, could have missed such an affair. He admitted he "wasn't paying attention."
After speaking, they separated. Meanwhile, back at Fanghua Palace, Yanfei, Qu Xiao, and Noble Lady Xiao's anniversary with Mengfei was approaching. Yanfei proposed that their collective goal should be to help Mengfei reconcile with the Emperor, thereby ending their own troubles caused by the Emperor's indirect actions. They planned to invite the Emperor to Fanghua Palace. Mengfei returned to the palace.
She saw Yanfei and Noble Lady Xiao standing on the bridge and was very happy, talking to them about Zhen Shishuang. Yanfei and the others immediately tried to change the topic, knowing that the Emperor was nearby in Fanghua Palace. But Mengfei didn't know; after seeing Qu Xiao arrive, she continued to talk enthusiastically. Realizing they were losing control of the situation, Yanfei and Noble Lady Xiao immediately tried to prompt Mengfei about the gift she had prepared.
Misunderstanding, Mengfei proudly produced several knitted scarves, explaining she had made them for her three friends. She presented them. The Emperor, who had been secretly watching, finally couldn't sit still. He stepped out, sarcastically remarking, "Your friendship is truly good," and then left. Mengfei finally realized she was in serious trouble. Determined to make amends, Mengfei went to Changji Palace to apologize to the Emperor, intending to appease him. The Emperor, angered by Mengfei, directly expressed his feelings for her and kissed her.
